There definitely could've been a little more shown. But I don't think it's bullshit that he figured it out, they did extensive testing in the first 10 pages, as well as in the last chapter he saw that his punches were both more effective than Itadori's and the Jade hound.

That said, "full frontal" fits the situation since Yuji was fully naked, despite being an incorrect translation.

Its something I appreciated before, but I really like how Gege brings depth with simple, straightforward abilities. I don't think there's any ability thats super complicated or complex in JJK. But they all have depth and meat because of how Gege builds his scenarios.
