It's a callback to her episode in AXZ. It's not as obvious because translations suck, so you don't see how she uses the same wording in both scenes, but she's making a direct reference to her dialogue in AXZ when she's protecting Hibiki and SG with her zesshou, the same way Shirabe referenced her conversation with Tsubasa in AXZ after the fight against Elsa. Basically, Kirika believes that because she's the "easygoing" one, it's her duty to shoulder the burden of people who don't have it as easy as her. It's not surprising that she became suicidal.

I have my hopes up, 24 minutes, AXZ had like 10 minutes of epilogue and a pretty cool final fight even though they didn't activate X-Drive at the beginning, and Adam changes to final form in like minute 7.

If they manage this episode well we can have 10 minutes of pure Miku/Shem-ha awesomeness and a good epilogue.

I'm glad I could help. I mean, really, I try not to say this too much because I'm sure it only comes off as obnoxious most of the time, but Symphogear is an anime that really benefits from being experienced directly in Japanese, and one of the big reasons for that is because it's filled to the brim with stuff like this. When Kirika said okiraku ("easygoing") last episode my mind immediately went to the AXZ episode. That word has been used to describe Kirika since as early as G, showing up in the lyrics to Tegami. Her being too okiraku was essentially what her conflict in that AXZ episode was all about. It's also in the lyrics to her XV B-side. They established a solid connection between her character and the word, making it almost impossible to miss the reference. But when you see one guy translating it as "naive" here, then "easygoing" there and some other guy uses "carefree" at some other place, it's impossible to realize the writers were even trying to do something, it just slips directly past anybody's radar.

First two could be just one minute or 1:30 which gives you more time for final commander they have too.

It's a real shame that all of Shirabe's good songs are relegated to her B-sides.

Guys, let's talk about the elephant in the room. As of XV episode 12, every Symphogear villain has been redeemed aside from Adam and Tiki. The latter I can excuse. Tiki's really never did anything evil, other than making a joke about cannibalizing an alchemist, and is more or less just a cum doll for Adam.

Even though I despise noble red I accepted that they would be redeemed because this is symphogear and of course that would happen. What I can't stand though is that they where pointless antagonists that took up so many episodes and did nothing but detract from time that could have been spent on other things. They should have wrapped this up by episode 10. You can tell the writers were confused about what to do with the plot since the moon was just a quick thing and then suddenly we're back to earth. They clearly wanted the final fight to take place on earth from the start but realized too late that they never had the gears go to the moon. So they just kind did a rush job and had noble red shoot them back to earth.

Carol/Elf9 has been my favorite thing about this season. She needs her own spinoff. I need more of her and elf9's internal interactions. I'm so glad they kept her tits smallish instead of going oppai-mode like in GX.

I think the most telling thing about the mindset in these threads was people getting triggered that anyone dared to criticize episode 12. Symphogear has always had both bad and good bits of writing and blindly hating anyone who takes issue with parts of the show is stupid. There are those who just say its a bad show and shitpost about how trash it is, but I'd argue that the people who recognize both the good and the bad care more about symphogear than the mindless drones who endlessly praise it. Personally I'm dissapointed by episode 12's poor use of time and think the direction was quite poor, but I also really enjoyed the ending. I don't believe the entire season has been bad but the antagonists are pretty weak.

We've already discussed what episode 12 could have done better. The people still shitting on it, and XV as a whole are just a handful of shitposters. Their posting style is really obvious. Just ignore them or use the filters.

I think part of the negative sentiment is because this was the second to last episode of the final season. and before this things had started to pick up and be interesting. It really does hurt to see an entire episode wasted on noble red while doing very little to advance the plot knowing this leaves about 17 minutes to deal with shem ha in episode 13. I think it can still be good, but I honestly feel let down.

People have been pointing flaws since episode 2. If you're willfully ignorant then that's your own problem, bitch.

I wish some parts of XV were different but i still like it, the flaws are always there in any medium and talking about them is for me a part of the fun. I think that's more of a symptom of Symphogear starting off as a darker show than what it became after the first several episodes.

I don't know how people can be upset with Elf9/Carol. I was so happy to see them finally stand up for their friends, even knowing they were not going to win.

I think even 9 was a pretty solid episode. I only really started having complaints until episode 10 where they purposely just skipped out on the follow up of it till the last seconds and then resolved that immediately in 11. Like you could have just ended Tsubasa's drama right here. She was free of Fudoh's control and her dad gave her her resolve back. Boom done. Next episodes cold opening is the funeral, a few quick shots of Tsubasa holding a portrait in front of a grave being sad, she steels herself and we're good.

This. Elf9/Carol had proper buildup, and was even foreshadowed ahead of time. It was integrated into the story nicely, and allows Elf9 to actually be useful in combat. Albeit, there are heavy drawbacks from using Carol in regards to memory loss. My only concern was that she would be too OP if she joined S.O.N.G. But they did a nice job balancing her out.

It's already been foreshadowed that she was trying to regain the lost fragments of Carol's memories utilizing the direct feedback system. This was just the realization of Elf9's desire to become more useful, combined with her desire to bring back Carol.

It just really feels like a lot of what could have been really emotional beats just got completely ignored when they didn't have too.

The way I see it. Carol and Elf9 are two sides of the same coin. Elf9 was literally created using Carol's memories of her father. Them fusing together as one is like a rebirth of the TRUE Carol.

If you joined during AXZ, with the promise of a fifth season. Just know that this always happens. It's better to keep stay hopeful than to get depressed for nothing.

Everything went well until someone suddenly got triggered by the concern deaths, which didn't happen immediately either. Since then, threads have seen random bursts of shitposting (trigger warning) every so often that all come at once, then all go away at the same time randomly too. They got particularly worse this week because the show is ending soon.
