If Archer was "serious" he'd never fight anyone directly and snipe all the servants from a skyscraper using Rule Breaker arrows and nuke the masters with Caladabolg. Archer never seriously tried to win the war because he knew it was pointless. Also he instantly lost to Saber because he's shocked at seeing her there and lowers his guard.

Any servant worth their weight can deflect/block/dodge these flimsy arrows, flat out won't work on Lancer since he has Protection from Arrow
