The character are relatable and realistic (there are some secondary not developed that much but still far better than all the others side characters of other shonens.....literally the fucking conny is way more interesting and usefull that all the secondary cast of naruto combined), and flew ecceptions of extraordinary characters with a full evolutions and gray morality (eren,historia,zeke,reiner,erwin,jean,magath,grisha,kenny etc...).
The story is mostly planned from the start (and the plot points the mangaka decided to change from his initial idea were changed back in 2013).
In the end, there are interesting literature ideas, like the plato's cavern (aka the "the village" plottwist for the millenials), and MACHIAVELLI's prince (the outcome mean the matters) and important themes like racism,nationalism,war,sacrifice,family,humans fragility and decide to dirt you end for something (this instead of the usual "talking no justu",nakama power and all the other shonen bullshit)

SnK is objectively the shittiest fanbase right now. Take the pretentiousness of HxH fags, the paranoia and insanity of tumblr shippers, the cognitive ability of a lobotomized chimp, and the argumentation and speaking skills of an average Yea Forums user and you get the modern day SnK fan. Unlike something like HxH where their cancer happens outside the threads (HxH threads themselves are fine if you want to talk about the series) SnK threads are legitimately unusable unless you subscribe to that same brand of mental illness.
