With her trajectory in the story right now she's either ending up with the revolutionaries or the straw hats, and given just how important she is to the endgame and the void century at this point the crew just makes more sense to me with how late in the game we are. They're already waiting for Jinbe anyway.

Vivi won't be a crewmate and she won't get a Devil Fruit. Her purpose is be the future Queen of Alabasta and carry Luffy's children along Hancock and the other two princesses.

The problem of One Piece is the lack of good training sequences. It makes sense, because they're on a ship, it's not like they can have a master or any source of new knowledge regarding abilities. Zoro trains all the time, but training alone is pretty limited, how in hell he came up with asura is a mystery, like Sanji suddenly burning up his leg. It's possible that both landed on those techniques from their natural fighting, but it looks kinda weird.

A lot of characters, especially the Yonkou's, have unnaturally tough bodies, that makes them a threat even without their fruit and haki. Luffy couldn't even hurt Big Mom due to her "Iron Ballon" like body and the same for Kaido "Scales" their both genetic freaks of nature, and that is what allowed the succeed. But as we've seen when Caramel's photo was broken, even their unnaturally strong bodies have week points, and this is what Luffy's new training will allow him to exploit. The outside maybe hard and strong, but their insides are soft and squishy

they don't just nullify df powers, they make users weaker.

if you're enough of a chad you can resist the effects of sea stone/water
sea prism will outright stop them from using their powers, but someone like akainu would still be able to fight
