Going through the manga right now, and it manages to be more fun than the anime. I especially like how different Kikuchi and Yoshikawa are in the manga compared to the anime.

By the way, is the live action version any good?

Both Live Action series are good. Although the first one takes many liberties with the original material whereas the second follows it closely.

I love GTO but I've only seen the anime I don't like mangas. I really wish they would continue the anime where it left off on the manga. And maybe adapt Lost Paradise.
