Either Konosuba or Re zero.
Maybe Overlord.
Grimgar
"This decade" user, El Hazard and Those Who Hunt Elves are a tad older than that.
Yeah. Isekais are boring. That is indeed what I said. Nice job on the reading comprehension, friend.
definitely that time I got reincarnated as a slime
Unironically the Slime. That shit is huge in Japan.
They are NPCs after all, can only think in 1s and 0s.
Either Slime, Overlord, Konosuba or Re:Zero
Most likely the first of this decade: Shield Hero.
oh nonononono
Pic related will be remembered solely because of this scene.
While overlord is enjoyable and flashy, it isn't very ground breaking. It's not a bad anime, but it does suffer from some bad tropes.
Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk
Personally, I'd choose Kumo desu ga, nani ka.
newfag detected.
Best of the best
Anime is great. But s2 ending was confusing as hell. Why do you even kill so many characters just to resurrect them in one final episode without any explanation. And only that lance lady (one character that I actually cared about) was killed for good.
That was the wrong kind of penetration to show.
druaga was fucking garbage.
For me Konosuba, I can't wait for the movie to be released on bd.
There hasn't been a good isekai story in 69 years.
Two decades in a row.
The one with multiple seasons and an actual ending.

At least I have, you however can't read between lines and completely missed what the message my post was trying to convey
do you think CR has the balls to animate the entire Shield Hero LN?
Probably a split between Konosuba for comedy or Re: Zero for drama depending on what someone is looking for genre-wise.
Tax Evasion.
Dog days is a nice sports anime but gets boring really fast
fuck no
at some point they'll see people won't buy the retarded story and focus on another popular franchise (most people thought it was a montecristo isekai and dropped the series after bitch and trash were forgiven anyways).
I like how people think genres can be more then one thing. Genres are just categories. A title can go into multiple genres.
If you demerit a title that goes into Isekai because it also goes into Endless, you're assessment is missing the point.
what's the story?
The answer is Sword Art Online and you all retards know it. Stop deluding yourselves
what do you mean?
its another shitty isekai that used revenge subplot to bait people.oncethat subplot ended, it became another shitty isekai and the story doesn't get any better.
The dvd/bd sales were actually mediocre but somehow CR announced a 2nd and 3rd season right out of the bat plus nips are working on a stage play for some reason which is weird since shield hero is not even popular in japan
>Grimgar
It still hurts that they never got another season. Loved the low-power hero and the struggle to get by aspect, both of which are an itch I've yet to have scratched by another series.
Isekai isn't a genre to begin with.
>The dvd/bd sales were actually mediocre but somehow CR announced a 2nd and 3rd season
Well, the anime helped selling a lot of copies of the LN, plus it was actually popular in US and China so you can blame them
Do you not know what a story is? It's a simple question.
>Star Trek Holodeck episodes are isekai
>enemies destroy bridges
>city starve
shit design.
How would they destroy those bridges?
Also, if they siege the city bridges or not doesn't matter anyway.
>The dvd/bd sales were actually mediocre
Sales are not relevant anymore faggot.
>enemies destroy bridges
Bridges probably have infinite HP or simply cannot be destroyed. It is typical RPG bullshit.
What people consider "isekai" are only isekai in the first episode. And then the rest is all Fantasy, Romance, and Adventure.
Like calling a tropical rain forest a boreal forest because there's a dead rotting christmas tree someone planted years ago.
That's called missing the forest for the trees.
Hold my beer. Watch this.
It was popular with chinks, and that's all that really matters. Chinks love the "I was the weakest, now I'm the strongest through cultivation" garbage. Every single one of their webnovels follow the same cultivation garbage.
You're delusional if you think sales don't matter. You don't judge a series success solely on sales, obviously, but it's a good indicator.
Re:Zero > Konosuba > Slime
Story is about MC being teleported to another world with other 3 faggots. They become the Legendary heroes and each one wield a different holy weapon (Spear, Sword, Bow and Shield). Problem is they can only use the Legendary weapon they are assigned (MC got the Shield and therefore, he can't wield an offensive weapon and can't kill stuff on his own).
To make things worse, for some reason, he's despised by royalty in that world to the point he's #MeToo'd by the princess of that kingdom.
He's stripped from any aid and money as punishment. He becomes bitter and buy a loli demihuman as a slave to do the fighting for him since he can't kill monsters with his shield.
S3 never
Isekai Quartet
Isekai Maou for sure had some really interesting and visually impressive spells
problem is people were watching because they wanted to see montecristo in isekai anime but once the revenge part ends, it becomes your typical isekai with rpg mechanics
n-next month?
>they wanted to see montecristo in isekai
they'd watch picrelated instead
they were? the revenge plot ended episode 3 when he got the loli harem and becomes OP. the only people watching this garbage were coomers and chinks.
Either Re: Zero or NGNL.
revenge part tecnically ends in "execution" episode, but it goes to shit when the big bird becomes a loli because why fucking not(ep5)?
that's a premise. The parallel structure is not evident in the anime adaption. You'd need to know the hero's life in the ordinary world to understand the significance of their actions in this other world. Shield Hero was a trust fund baby that lived a comfortable life, but this isolated him and attracted Gold diggers. In a metaphorical sense, his shield isolates as well as protect. The questions through out the series is when he should lower or raise his guard. Are the clashing worlds better off united or divided?
Spear Hero was a two-timer in his old life, and thus gained the ability to turn back time and live a second life.
Mushoku Tensei after it gets a 200 episode adaption.
Honestly the peak moment of the show to me wasn't even the fanservice. It was him using that weird OP spell at the bridge
That can't happen in this decade.
I liked it but it dragged on a lot. I wanted them to actually do more things, even the food and social grinding stuff was ok but it seemed like they didn't know how to get to the point most of the time
>C: The money of soul and possibility control
Too smart for the average Yea Forumsnon.
they all suck balls
The revenge part ends when malty dies (raped to death in the wn and minced in the ln).
More of an observation than a declaration. Nmae one good isekai other than konosuba
The only correct answer. It was great quality and entertainment value. Kenja Mago lacks entertainment value. Overlord lacks quality.
>Konosuba
>Good
>tan skin with blonde or light hair
why is it such a perfect look?
Is this a rec thread?
season 2 when?
Firstly, those bridges are fairly short and don't require any complex engineering to make. It'd be trivial to bodge together a makeshift bridge in a few hours if you had a bunch of planks lying around, (which any city that's only accessible over wooden bridges is sure to have).
Secondly, if the enemies are at your gates and wrecking your infrastructure, it's not like you can get supplies in from outside anyway. The farmers from the surrounding lands will either be dead or taking refuge inside the walls. And caravans + merchants headed your way will be intercepted by the attackers.
Thirdly, if the enemy is at your gates, it's nice to have the option to destroy (or raise) the bridges yourself, rather than be forced into fighting them immediately (say if they vastly outnumber you and you have reinforcements en-route). And while the defenders can easily replace the bridge, it's another story for the attackers. If the people on the walls are shooting arrows and pouring boiling oil from the walls, the repair will be horrendously difficult, making it easy to force a battle of attrition.
Fourthly, Medieval cities could last for many months, even years under seige if they have food stores prepared. A large army on the other hand will quickly deplete the surrounding area of resources, and need to rely on external supply chains. The city inhabitants have a good chance of being able to simply outlast their attackers.

When will this get an anime adaptation?
You'd get to enjoy half-dark screens or ever-present shine until BDs that would not sell regardless. It would also take author off LN and WN (latter is pretty dead already). Is that what you want?
Goblin Slayer.
There might be sacrifices, but it would be more likely to follow the LN and not show the sex scenes, and those are extremely important to include in any potential anime.
Youjo Senki, if not in the minds of dumb isekai fans then in my heart.

Fantasy, and incredibly mediocre.
Technically it has characters from another world.
He also uses his modern understanding of history to decide whether or not certain ideas are viable (tho it's not a 1:1 comparison given the war he's in isn't a perfect analogue for either WWI or WWII) and also brings up modern ideas of warfare in an era that hasn't yet acclimated to their own technological advancements.
>civil govt lets french go
Lot of good it does him
But in the future she's not Loli anymore...Damn god
Technically Lord of the Rings was earth "history" but we dont call it a documentary.
I mean if locals fight with extra-terrestrial invaders that's kinda isekai?
That's native isekai retard.
I guess we are all isekai, since life was formed after meteors and such placed material from outer space.
Im on book 3 and even I know the loli wife shit was gonna become inevitable. She was either gonna die old and successful stuck as a loli or young, and turn the whole story into a 3-6 book tragedy.
I heard she remains a loli even in the future, she just happens to grow a bit so she doesn't look like she's 5 anymore.
Well sure. Everyone KNOWS the MC is gonna find a way to not die of her sickness. It was just a matter of how and who gets to dick her.
What kind of isekai is SAO?
Every cover of the LN to this date shes still a loli and theres like 20 volumes. She just looks like shes 8 or so.at best.

Since games are not another physical world, it is not an isekai at all, more like a sci-fi or a really bad cyberpunk.

The idea that the communist party and the national patriots that make up the army could be divided, where they were losing absolutely on the logistics front they could make gains into the federation in the realm of politics.
Slime Isekai can pretty much be considered the best isekai of the last 4 decades, Escaflowne doesn't have anything to do with it.
By the 19th volume, she's only about 11 or 12, I think.

What the fuck is happening to this board?
This is like saying IS and its spawns were good.
Why are isekai fans in denial that their favorite shitpiles are isekai?
>Danmachi is obviously the same garbage as everything else - RPG mechanics, shitty harems, awful mc, horribly generic fantasy world, ugly art
>NOOOOOO IT'S NOT ISEKAI BECAUSE HE DOESN'T ACTUALLY GO TO ANOTHER WORLD
Get over yourselves. Roguelike games are no longer made in ASCII, definitions change faggots.
It isn't. Stuck-in-the-game or gameworld fantasy.
To be fair, if it is just fantasy it does not have to be Isekai. But that does not mean it is a good show.
Now with that said, how about you tell them why the show sucks instead of listing the genre tags and saying "its isekai, and isekai must be bad"
Its as retarded as the people that just go "all mecha sucks ass"

Gameworld fantasy also having isekai MC learn about the world together with audience helps authors a lot.
SHIT BAIT though.
>Deep meaning cuz i say so derp.

Konosuba.
It's technically not isekai but it follows all the tropes and cliches of isekai. Normal fantasy isn't cool anymore so everyone just copies isekai formula.
>all the tropes and cliches of isekai.
Except for genre-defining one.
It's licensed.
Considering that TL group has to splice single chapter to multiple parts, yes
Then where are the volumes?
Digimon is, and always will be, the best Isekai.
So? Overlord is licensed too and so is Konosuba.
>couple of kids find a magical land
>shitty little snot who only cares about getting a magic waifu and eating Turkish Delight gets utterly BTFO
>the rest of the kids meet up with Santa Claus and Jesus Christ, who drafts the children into his army
>Jesus goes and dies for our sins, gets reborn, and then leads a massive battle and ends the endless winter
Face it. This is the golden standard Isekai should look up to. Every time a show becomes about getting a girlfriend it goes to shit
In the usual place. Or you can buy it.
So what?
>Its as retarded as the people that just go "all mecha sucks ass"
But that's true. Mecha is inherently a garbage genre. You have to jump through some serious mental hoops to accept a premise of high schoolers piloting magical giant robots and clobbering each other with them as something other than laughably dumb. You could make a mecha series differently, but nobody does, and it would flop, because mechafags are just manchildren who want to play with toys and would not accept anything different from the established norm. No, having adults pilot the giant robots instead of kids doesn't make it much better, nor does it fix the inherent flaws of the genre.
>tropes and cliches of isekai.
What you call that is actually just video-game inspired fantasy which happens to get used often by isekai stories as well. It is however not connected to isekai.
You really need me to elaborate? Danmachi is an absolute dumpster fire, as I supported with my post. Bell is the biggest wet noodle of a protagonist, absolutely pathetic and low testosterone, so small dick asians and failed normals can self-insert. Yet for whatever reason, he's surrounded by lusty girls even though there are many more attractive males. And as I said, the world is awful and generic, literally NOTHING makes it stand out. It has dungeons, minotaurs, slimes, classes, guilds, quests, xp points - it's fucking garbage. And also the art is butt-ugly. So many scenes of characters standing still just flapping lips, and the few action scenes look like dogshit and the perspective is all wrong. The show is soulless, mass-produced garbage
>In the usual place.
>2 volumes
How far do they cover?
>So what?
So TL is bunch of lazy sissies that's what.
Nothing surprising I suspect it comes with knowledge of runes.
Twelve Kingdoms.
Any other answer is wrong.
More like they aren't retarded to translate what's already being translated when there are countless untranslated works.
How can you be so pigheaded? Isekai NEVER leaves its safe bubble of "DUDE swords and xp and quests and BIG BOOBIES "OH NOOO MC-KUN I'M NOT DRESSED!". And I mean never. At least not in the past decade.
Stop posting. Lurk /m/ for a bit so you stop making a fool of yourself.

It's true for all series unless the translation was already far ahead when it got licensed or English publisher dropped the ball hard.

Edelgard is the best I love her
Why is japan so intellectually bankrupt? Mc is a boring self insert with no personality yet women flock to him. Mc has a unique power that everyone else thinks is underpowered just so mc can be an underdog but in reality his power is op as fuck! There is a slave catgirl or elf and mc says hes against slavery but just gives some half assed justificication and then the author never brings it up again because that actually might be an interesting idea to explore and we cant have that. The first couple of chapters make it seem lile the story is going to be super edgy and dark but this is quickly forgotten when it moves into status quo journey from town to town and aquire harem pieces mode OR journey from town to town to power up the mc's dungeon or town they are building. The story has a generic rpg stats window even though it isnt a video game and is just a normal world so why the fuck is there a stats window i seriously dont get this? The stats are just arbitrary numbers too because there isnt an actual game so it feels like the only point is to make the mc seem even more badass i guess? Also mc registers at the adventurers guild because obviously in a world where people have unbelievanle powers they would take advantage of those powers by dicking around in a pseudo tavern all day and doing odd jobs for npc jobbers. God i fucking hate adventurers guilds what a stupid fucking idea that makes no god damn sense inb4 adventurer ranks and mc breaks the ranking test so he mistakenly gets identified as a level f instead of sss. There is a demon lord but we dont know anything about them other than they are evil or maybe the humans are the real evil ones all along! Thank god most manga sites added an isekai tag so you can filter them out, usually the entire front page of most sites gets filtered out because people actually choose to translate these series with their free time for some reason. FUCK ISEKAI FUCK JAPAN.

The distinction is easy for anyone without brain damage to understand.
Well, it will probably be way more different from our home than the comfy sort-of-Europe isekai with comfy magic. If you can't return by whatever reason, then it will be another world by all means.

If your shower has elves and catgirls bathing with you, then it must be a pretty cozy shower. Shower containing random arabs appearing is way less cozy, but pretty bizarre too.
You do realize you're talking to more than 1 user here?.
Basically, this. The genre is oversaturated with so much of the same shit that its gonna end up with 2 types of isekai beig remembered: the most popular and the ones who did something different. On the popular side you have shit like rezero, konosuba, and later bakarina. On the different side... well, at least Shield Hero tried to show the consequences of righteousness and a slightly different revenge plot than...
...look, at the moment i only know about the popular ones, because only those make it this side. We havent seen much of otome isekai or reverse isekai so far, maybe next decade.
Yes and you all keep saying the same fucking thing even though it does not help your case at all. You people are brainwashed
Thermae Romae
There's been isekai with a door leading to another world, one could be the same where taking a shower leads between two of them. Them you could find naked elves and catgirls arriving because they didn't know how it worked, and possibly either enough time/sweat needed to make the shower able to travel when using it.
...
Isekai is really just a "fish out of water" trope taken to an extreme.
At it's core, the idea is that a character is taken to some place outside his usual "world", and he has to acclimate to the new surroundings.
Personally, I like to measure "isekai" as a spectrum based on the distance or method of travel (changed schools, to fell into a portal), and how much actually changes between the two "worlds" (still modern school with some culture differences, or literally magic books that eat your face).
This idea is based on the looser interpretation of "world", but obviously not everyone will agree at what point something should really be considered "isekai" or not.
"World" didn't always mean planet (and planet didn't always mean planet), user. Many interpretations of "world" just mean "place where I'm at", and often very metaphorical. It's only relatively recently that the word "world" could be taken to mean a literal planet, but the old definitions didn't exactly go away.
I want to see that sword isekai animated, or the coke soda bear one.

If that facility has elves or different physical laws, then why not. Especially if it also has all the isekai tropes.
Is Bleach an isekai?
It's reverse isekai, AND isekai.
What is the difference between native reverse isekai and reverse native isekai?
The same difference as between -0 and +0
If i were to define isekai, it would be
Main character(s) get transported from their world to another one
This must be a real world, no games or similar.
Time travel is not isekai. Space travel to another place in the world is not isekai. (Maybe if the MC was an astronaut that was going to mars or something but gets sucked into a wormhole and lands on some fantasy world with no way of getting back, but then it is just another build up for the isekai)
So something like Slime is isekai because he as the mc traveled to another world.
SAO is not isekai because the "new world" is just a simulated game experience.
Goblin Slayer is not isekai because the MC is based in that world.
Can be infinitely important.
Jewelpet Kira Deco
No, because soul society is just another part of earth, just a different plane of existence.
Also nothing binds the MC to either soul society or the living world.
I did not talk about limits. 1/x is undefined for x = 0, you just can have number infinitely close to 0
I want to imagine.
>childhood friend got cucked
I don't even know what Isekai means, I haven't read or watched To Love Ru and I hate lolis
Just let them slide, you don't have to care about every trend for pathetic 12 y/o weebs
Childhood friends gets Myne's sister, so in reality, the childhood friend cucked his own brother.
Sousei no Taiga is alright so far
If you are not a pedantic nitpicker, then keeping most of the tropes/features the same is enough to put a slightly different thing in the same cluster.
If you are a pedantic nitpicker, then "isekai" literally means "another world", not "transported to another world" or "reincarnated to another world". Oh, and also "world" can mean a lot of things, for example and .
If you still continue to follow no chain of logic, then... your time, your choice.
What if isekai is not the actual world, but is actually a limit of the sequence of worlds?
>ad hominem

>what is isekai cheats
What i have noticed looking at this thread is that a lot of people don't know the meaning of isekai, by the literal japanese translation, isekai means: "another world". when we are talking about isekai as a genre it means: "A story where somebody from our world is sent to another world/reality/parallel earth/planet" anything else is just an added, elves, catgirls, demon lords, rpg mechanics, cheats, etc aren't necessary to make an isekai story, the only requirements is to take a person of our world and transport him to another, saying that those things are necessary isekai tropes is the same as saying that all action movies need superheroes or it isn't an action movie.
The isekai genre is older that many of you realize, Alice in wonderland is isekai, the wizard of Oz is isekai, the divine comedy is isekai, Narnia is isekai, and if you want a Japanese example, Digimon is isekai, the problem with the genre nowadays is that nobody want to do something original with the genre and keep using the same tropes and stories over and over, leading to stagnation, but even if you like the tropes (like i do) there's the overflow of amateur writers that focus more in writing power fantasies instead of actual stories with good characters, conflicts and antagonists.
But the biggest problem are people who defend stale tropes arguing "The genre absolutely need those tropes, it's supposed to suck, etc." a genre is just a type of story, what the story is about is up to your creativity.
Not all cheats have to be easy to use to make money quickly or have no negatives to them.
DECISIVE TANG STRATEGIC VICTORY.
That's still more cheats than I have IRL and I do quite well all things considered.
This is why you read chinese novels.
Xianxia Chinknovels are equally garbage, just for bitter incels instead of spineless incels.
The best isekai are the ones that take the piss, like Final Girl.
>isekai
yikes
>Alice in wonderland is isekai, the wizard of Oz is isekai, the divine comedy is isekai, Narnia is isekai
Sorry, but I would like to keep the "isekai" tag reserved for japshit.
Too bad, isekai retard. If isekai is going to mean only "another universe" then you can't be picky when things you don't like get inserted into the tag. News flash, japs consider Pixar movies to be "anime". What now, faggot?
Probably SAO.
He said isekai
Pick up the torch since nips are dropping it
>This is why you read chinese novels.
No.
>Go to a restaurant with your harem of jade-like beauties to eat
>Suddenly, a wild young master appears!
>"Hey you, the most beautiful out of this flowerfield with skin fair enough to cause nations to fall! Come to my mansion so I can fuck you, as for the rest, you can have them, my followers!"
>Young master tries to grab main waifu but murder hobo protag interferes, young master gets irritated as fuck and shouts like a retard
>"YOU ARE COURTING DEATH!"
>Onlookers gossip about "there is no way this weak-looking dude could possibly beat the young master, the match is already decided! No need to even look!"
>Murder hobo protag kills young master in one punch, all the onlookers go "HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!? He beat the young master! That can't possibly be! Who is that guy?"
>Old man, seemingly a beggar, but actually one of the strongest daoists in the world, who watches at the scene amused, scoffs at the now dead young master
>"He had eyes but couldn't see mount Tai."
>Suddenly the voice of the young master's father, who is the Sectmaster of Sect X resounds through the entire city
>"HOW DARE YOU KILL MY SON! THERE WILL BE NO RECONCILIATION! I'LL MURDER YOU, ALL YOUR PREVIOUS 10 GENERATIONS AND ALL THE DOGS AND HENS AT YOUR HOME!"
>Murder hobo protag goes on to wipe out the entire Sect X because of "MUH by the roots!"
>As murder hobo is about to strike down the sect master, the sect master cries
>"Fool! Our X sect is just small fry in comparison to the sect we are subordinate to, which is the the Y sect, who are in turn subordinate to the Z clan! You'll never have a peaceful life again!"
>Murder hobo protag shrugs
>"Just more targets to KILL!"
>And so murder hobo protag finishes off the sectmaster and gets into conflict with Y sect (and later Z clan, becaue MUH progressive powerlevels)
>All these events took a long time to describe but actually happened in an instant
t. 90% of chink cultivation novels
>no flying pagodas
I think most people know the literal definition and are instead arguing a new functional definition. Popular isekais are so ridden with tropes that the origin of mc wether they are from another world or not has very little to do with the story. rpg stat windows, adventurer guilds and ranks, demon lords, cat girl and elf slaves, harem collecting, basically anything that you could imgaine being put in a dragon quest rip off. these are all incredibly prevelant in modern popular fantasy and isekai. Often times it really doesnt matter that the mc is from another world especially if they were reincarnated and not summoned by the king because they almost never use their knowledge from the previous world in any meaningful way. The literal summoned from another world aspect of most of these stories is just an easy background and motivation for the generic rpg fantasy story the author wants to tell. When i think isekai i dont think digimon which technically is i think goblin slayer which technically isnt.
>origin of mc wether they are from another world or not has very little to do with the story
>No other world - not an isekai
It's the early stage. You know, like "super epic battles with "Azure Mythical God Demon Dragons"... but unfortunately they are derisively called "backwater Snakes who can't even see Mount Tai" in the higher realms of the Flying Pagodas, a realm which is in turn weaker than a fart to the likes of "Ancestral Golden Blackblood Emperor Dragon Deities", who in turn can be killed together with their entire universe by the "Ancient Reverend Top-Knot Cultivator", who is the main antagonist of... uhm what were we talking about again?
>by the literal japanese translation, isekai means: "another world"
You said it yourself.
This hits the nail on the head. "Isekai" is not a genre - it's a plot device. However, nowadays the garbage fantasy anime/manga genre often lazily uses the isekai mechanic so they can freely exposition dump, as well as making the mc an easier self-insert because he is just as confused and in-the-dark as the reader/watcher
They can still be isekai, but additional words are needed to distinguish what type is being mentioned, just like the ones with a game system and those without one, or fantasy vs sci-fi setting. Stargate has a little bit of isekai, but it's not the travel to other planets
your face is a plot device
You do know that shows can have multiple genres, right? Most isekai you're talking about are actually isekai action-adventure fantasy.
>reading chinese novels
I'm yet to finish the Journey to the West. Imagine the same fucking chapter repeated for four books with slightly changed enemy/scenery/artifacts.
Then what are the defining characteristics of the isekai genre besides "mc is from another world"? A genre can't be defined by one attribute, that's absurd. If an anime features time travel, that doesn't make it a "time-travel" anime. There is no "time-travel" genre
>mc is from another world and slowly learns about new one together with reader
A genre.
>If an anime features time travel, that doesn't make it a "time-travel" anime.
But it literally does?
Do the MC and reader fall in love while doing so?
That would be gay in a lot of cases but I'm open to gender-bender options.
S2's directing and pacing was shit compared to S1. Even the parts with the scrubs are OK in S1 while I can't watch them in S2.
Chinese manga just has this weird ass pacing and something feels off I cant really put my finger on it but it feels even more juvenile than the jap picture books for children that i read now.
A female MC works best for it. Maybe one who buys female slaves and asks the reader if they like what's being done to them?
>retards come out in droves now to hate isekai just because it's isekai
Fucking kek
Isekai is well written since it's initial start point of reincarnating/teleported to another world means it's 100% easy to make world building, development and every other thing.
Isekai is the ultimate writers crutch and no one can shit on it since it foul proof.
Now kill yourselves Yea Forumsermin
MC from the text of the novel is isekaid into a title of the novel which is longer than the text itself.
isekai is a garbage tier
Too mary-sueish and too wish-fulfillment-y, even more so than isekai novels.
Western novels are the same though.
I don't know about anime, but Negima is undoubtedly the best isekai manga ever written.
Nagi (Negi's dad) was literally a random isekai'd Welshman who got super-powerful by talent alone.
The real question is whatever kicked off the isekai boom in the first place
thank god
Yeah, probably. But we were talking about Chinese xianxia novels, weren't we?
Then there's two problems that i see: failure of use and failure of perception.
first is the failure of use of the genre, both of them, Isekai and fantasy, are genres that can combine with each other, or with other genres, it can be fantasy/adventure, fantasy/Sci-fi, fantasy/horror, fantasy/adventure, isekai/fantasy, isekai/horror, isekai/sci-fi, isekai/drama, etc. The problem is that we have an oversaturation of isekai/fantasy and fantasy without isekai, that use the exact same tropes and plotlines, the whole: "it's isekai, but if you tweak the story a bit then it could just be fantasy", it's not a problem with the genre, it's a problem with the writing of these stories.
Now the failure of perception, when you said
> When i think isekai i dont think digimon which technically is i think goblin slayer which technically isnt.
that shows a bigger problem with public perception of the genre, they are starting to assimilate the tropes as part of the genre instead of just an added, again, the constant use of plot points and tropes lead to stagnation and bad writing, and bad writing lead to people to think that to write the genre, you must write the same story that everyone does, or "Isekai should be reserved to japanese stuff that have generic fantasy races, rpg mechanics, cheats, slaves, etc." like: says, now, there's nothing wrong with using the tropes if you put good writing on the story, but that's almost never the case. Also , what do you mean with that? if i were to use the term 太陽 to refer to the sun, i'm not talking about the private japanese sun that they suddenly have, i'm talking about the sun, it's one and the same, the same goes when i use the japanese term "isekai" it's the same as if i say "transported to another world", though isekai is more convenient since is just one word to use, so yeah, the examples i used are still isekai, and a proof that you can do more with the genre if you get out of your comfort zone.
More than a millennium ago with dante's inferno.
In the end of the title he gets truckkund again and now is isekaid into a footnote world.
>A genre can't be defined by one attribute
Says who? You? Define sports, then the sports sub-genres like basketball, baseball, etc.
>it's a problem with the writing of these stories
No, it's a problem with retards thinking they can call blue "red".
Well, sometimes the term changes its value several times. Isekai may mean "another world", then "transported to another world from ours" and then just "another world, maybe with a set of tropes" again.
Just noticed the spoon
>I only notice the fantasy and skill/lv isekai so it's over saturated
Retard.
If it's explained int the story then it's fine since that's a social construct anyways.
My country can have 1+3=2 and that's not bad writing.
That's all irrelevant. Like 95% of isekai that are even in consideration for anime are syousetsuka ni narou Web Novels that have already been written years ago, with a few occasional latecomers like most likely "Eminence in Shadows" will be. Almost all other isekai has already been made so at most a few little things here or there could be changed in the anime adaptation, but it's already to late for any "feedback", but on the flipside it's also impossible for any current "trends" to negatively affect the upcoming isekai anime in any significant way.
This one after it gets anime.
Not this
Another season wouldn't have covered anything good from the books anyway.
It's kind of lackluster. Even as an asshole comedy none of the leads are really all that entertaining to look at. Male lead iz blunt, but solely horny and reactionary, main elf is useless and childish and dark elf is just boring period
It's like labelling Nisekoi a shoujo demographic manga because there are girls and there's cheesy romance. Similarities only go so far to define a tag.
Shoujo means "story for shoujo" while isekai does not mean "story to publish in another world"
I'm open to hear about isekai stories that aren't fantasy/skill-lv, i'm serious, maybe there are more of these gems that fantasy/skill-lv power fantasies, just give me some examples and i'll check if it contradict my statement of oversaturation.
If the term changes its value so constantly then it can become: "transported to another world, but with other tropes that the ones already used" wich actually proves my point that the genre have more to offer.
>it's also impossible for any current "trends" to negatively affect the upcoming isekai anime in any significant way.
Amateur writers tend to copy "what worked back then" instead of creating something original, maybe not all of them, of course, but "why do something different if what's done before works?" but hopefully i'm wrong and we'll get to see creative isekai stories in the future.
What did she meant by that?
JUST QUOTE WHOLE DAMN THREAD
>Amateur writers tend to copy "what worked back then" instead of creating something original
Name an original work that the author had no influence from any other work, person, place or feelings.
Literally every story can be remade into isekai. Just replace the character with the character transported/reincarnated from our world.
Yes it does. Hataraku Maou-sama is isekai, despite being set in modern Japan and not having game mechanics. It's a well defined term. Why do you have so much trouble understanding that.
Under that logic, we can turn literally every story about humans into a story about green-skinned aliens from Alpha Scorpii.
Your point?
You probably misread me. Shoujo is a story sold mostly to shoujos. Isekai isn't a story sold mostly in isekai, since we don't have the isekai gates IRL.
And every story can be made sci-fi by turning the MC into a robot from the future. Congratulations, you've discovered how classifying things work.
Interesting
No matter how much you hate it, SAO is the pinup idol of the genre.
Guess then that every work can be made into isekai by introducing the isekai, aka the another world.
the only thing i like from that is suguha
and from the porn
Yes, and?
>>Congratulations, you've discovered how classifying things work.
I know that, even the things i write are based on other things, from both the media i consume and real life, but that's not what i'm arguing, is the fact that writers are copying the exact same formula what i'm arguing, it's as when a teacher put an assignment to investigate something, anything, what you are saying is the equivalent of the class taking the information of the assignment from different sources and add their own interpretation, what i'm saying is the equivalent of everyone in the class taking the information from the same source and adding nothing else to the assignment.
SAO isn't even an isekai
No you're not, you're singling out isekai without knowing anything about it.
Explain me then.
It's one of the few series I read that really gets the desperation to just get by. The monotony of doing the same shit to a perfection to get what they need. To be honest, if the author just would cut down on Haruhito's whining, it would be amazing.
You should be reading isekai before arguing about it - probably what user meant.
Then there isn't any problem with calling various another world works isekais? Maybe adding the "native" qualifier for the subclassification.
There isn't, go on you'd be just called a retard and told to fuck off, no big deal.
Sure, if you can find the other world the Goblin Slayer MC comes from.
danmachi
>He said isekai
>Then there isn't any problem with calling various another world works isekais? Maybe adding the "native" qualifier for the subclassification.
No. There is an established definition. Steam punk is scientific fiction, but we don't consider it sci-fi, but rather it's own genre.
Everything we can imagine about could be "fantasy" based on the "first thought" when hearing that term, however it actually refers to a medieval world with usually supernatural aspects at least to some extent (low fantasy) or where magic and such is a common-place thing (high fantasy).
Isekai is no different from that pattern. It got a definition which is "Story about an individual or group that gets transported to a different Dimension/Universe". I mean it's an obvious axiom anyway, considering otherwise you'll just get regular fantasy instead.
>inb4 MUH NATIVE-fag
ah, never mind, I was too late already...
Log Horizon for me, if only because the author showed up here on Yea Forums and answered one of my questions.
You can complain as much as you want.
Is it our world? You'd better beware the goblins then.
That's a yikes from me, bro.
user, I appreciate you trying to explain your viewpoint, but
>Steam punk is scientific fiction, but we don't consider it sci-fi
is just an immediate contradiction.
You can take that Yea Forums rock-paper-scissors graph and play it by yourself.
I wouldn't know when it comes to serious isekai manga, because the only ones I read are the ones that make fun of the genre (e.g. Isekai Ojisan, Atelier Tanaka).
The anime cuts out like 90% of each volume. They have like 3-4 volumes per season.
>Isekai Ojisan
Don't fucking remind me this series is dead for me
>It's not a bad anime
It's not. It's "Scientific Fiction" as in a work of fiction that deals with fictional "science". But it's not "Science Fiction" or "Sci-Fi", as in the "genre".
>200 episodes
What? There’s not enough material for 200ep. 50 episodes max. A lot of stuff can be shoved off to an OVA or skimmed.
Something about Maou-Sama retry makes me want more. I didn't expect it to be the most fun and memorable of the season.
It's a subgenre. Just like apple is a fruit too.
Sword Shisho Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
B-BUT IT'S NOT THE MAIN GIRLS AND NTR MEANS IT'S GOOD WRITING
What's the point of it being isekai, when the sword could just be a magical sentient sword and it's clear that Fran is the real MC?
>what's the point of doting on murderous isekai daughteru
Gay.
Shield Hero
Won't be as funny, won't be as attached, might not even talk, might kill or control it's hosts mind.
based shield bro
They don't cover much of anything do they?
Duck tales just because it isn't medieval fantasy.
Shield Hero
Hearty kek they're probably PTSDed
Why? my point is why it isn't just a magic sword with the same personality as the guy here, maybe he realizes that Fran have a pure heart or whatever and decide to help her, my point is that if you tweak the story a little bit, it doesn't need to be isekai, also, the isekai thing doesn't have any importance in the overall story at all.
It's the best selling isekai and pretty much popularized the basic story structure of modern isekai.
The whole 'evil' mc, dungeon like palce and a faithful servants all were popularized from overlord.
user, most isekai are just a hamfisted way to write fantasy. Most the time you can just omit the another world part and it’ll be fine. Still, him once being a human makes his interactions with Fran more like Father/Daughter.
I miss the time when people didn't use the word isekai to describe it.
This image should trigger every /his/fag, I mean, there where tons of houses outside of the walls.
Then how would he know about staple Japanese foods like Tempura or Curry?
books
Too bad Maruyama is getting bored of it and wants to write a HS Wrestling RomCom.
#1 Yggdrasil Player was wrestler, so
At the bottom of the moat.
The same could be if he was a person from that world transformed into a sword.
Not necesary for the story, but even if you want to go through that route... old powerful magic sword, it just knows.
People say he's lazy but he's written about 1.5 million words since it started.
He probably ran out of source material and he's not 20 y/o anymore to vomit thousand words chuuni chapters by the dozens.
Not to mention that Overlord was editor-heavy work, comparing WN and LN I cannot begin to fathom the volume of shit editor had to go through with Maruyama.
Then there's hype and fan expectations: dreaded killers of long-running popular series.
>precision firewood drying
Really scraping the bottom of the sasuga barrel here
Close, he was an MMA champion.
>isekai MC praising dish as best
>no rice
Whatt's happening I'm scared
I don't care about having this animated as long as we still get the LN but seems like it's sorta dropped by the publisher. Apparently the WN is still going so all isn't lost.
At least the volumes that were published have all been officially translated but I can't seem to find them anywhere on the internetz.
Seriously considering buying the books and scanning them but i'd like to have them in proper epub format instead of just images. Gonna have to do so research into software that turns text scans into proper text.
Konosuba, rezero, slime maybe overlord
wtf I hate goblins now grimgar
Konosuba
What is this Frostpunk?
grimgar was pretty trainwreck
I remember thousand threads about MC party being turbo retarded. They honestly close to first party from Goblin Slayer
>Not necesary for the story, but even if you want to go through that route... old powerful magic sword, it just knows.
But my whole life people told me that "because X is a wizard" is the dumbest, worst kind of writing there is. Now you are telling other anons that they "should" resort to that? I don't think so.
Can we all agree that this was the isekai of the 2000s?
Hold on. LH was in this decade? When the author visit Yea Forums?
Too soon
Absolutely correct.
We will literally eat anything up he writes as long as it's not ntr.
He just needs to have players and strong godkin already to move the story up.
no,
you guys would turn on him if he did that.
>not ntr
<
>players and godkin
He just spoonfed you that there are 12+ True Dragon Lords in the world and they're more powerful than previously thought.
>So, we'll hate him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero: he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Dark Knighto
I've nothing else to contribute to this discussion.
Cool now actually make them fucking relevant, it's ending soon anyways so I barely care anymore
>ainz beats lv 30 hero
>yada yada x 1200 pages
>ah we truly were the overlords
>The End
>native isekai
Ok, it's an old powerful magic weapon that was once a wise old man, that, in exchange of having knowledge of all worlds in the universe, he have to turn into an object that can't move on its own, in this case, a sword. Happy?
Alternative:
It's an ancient demon, who naturally have knowledge of all worlds, that was trapped into the sword long time ago, after a while the demon became bored with its condition, so when Fran started using him, instead of trying to possess her, or harm her, he started to like her pure heart, thus the father/daughter relationship. Happy?
>make them fucking relevant
They're cool because they're out of focus. Kind of like a spook in horror movie is at his scariest before you get a good direct look at him.
>what do you mean we can't just make fires in our houses with no fireplaces or chimneys with all the windows closed.
i'm surprised they haven't burned their city down more than one family getting carbon monoxide poisoning
They never had these problems before: no extreme cold and no dry firewood shortage. They know about poisoning but dying from it tomorrow beats dying from cold today.
>implying the Ani/Matrix isn't an isekai and Kirito and his full dive tech is just a blantant ripoff off Neo
super fucking Kek
i want to know how the people making indoor fires without fireplaces aren't catching it on fire more than anything.
For an empty bait it surely generates a long catch.
Put some bricks and metal sheet together it's not rocket science
No. Now you made the sword TOO competent. The thing about being an isekai-jin in sword dad was good balance between knowledge and ignorance. He knew stuff from earth and worldly wisdom to a normal Earthling human's extent, but knew even less than Fran about the actual world got himself to. Also one of the underlying themes is about Shishou's backgroundstory being considered as an unknown thing, both in his previous life and as his existence as a "sword". Your ideas would turn this whole setting into a ridiculous clusterfuck.
>RE:ZERO
based
Ok, a regular guy from that world, who has lived in the same village his entire life accidentally transform into a sword due to a curse, that's it, there's no need for him to know about japanese stuff, nor any need to be a guy from our world.
>Your ideas would turn this whole setting into a ridiculous clusterfuck.
It would make a different story with different interactions, if it becomes a clusterfuck or not depends on the writer.
Then he would know more about that world and it's harder to drop exposition on the reader that way
>depends on the writer
No shit did you miss most isekai being 1st-2nd work of amateur writers, published or adapted straight out of "lets become the novelist" contest?
Overlord Season 4 when? I feel like we don't get enough of it
Why would you want S4? EE would animate it better than MH. If anything you should ask for more novels or at least a quick, definitive and painless end of the series.
>Then he would know more about that world and it's harder to drop exposition on the reader that way
Why do you think i specified that he has lived his whole life in a small village, he is also exploring the world with us, also, if you don't have a way in wich the characters do exposition dumps on the reader, use a narrator to do the world building as the story progresses.
>No shit did you miss most isekai being 1st-2nd work of amateur writers, published or adapted straight out of "lets become the novelist" contest?
So, are you admitting it's shit?
How can one man be so based
S4 by Doga Kobo please.
>lived his whole life in a small village
His cheats would make even less sense.
>are you admitting it's shit
I'm admitting publishing models between west and japan are different, nip writers aren't confined to writing fanfics on low-traffic internet forums for years before they're snatched for publishing, this allows less experienced writers to get published much faster.
If you don't realize that before - you are retarded.
My sides
>there's no need for him to know about japanese stuff, nor any need to be a guy from our world.
Now you are pushing your opinion into what you personally think the author should or shouldn't include, which is basically like a capitulation that you can no longer keep the argument up without significantly changing more and more and more "details" until it's nothing like the orginal anymore, completely disproving your own claim that "it could be the exact same but without being isekai", since you are personally dismantling the "exact same" part by yourself now. Thanks for helping me to prove my point.
>His cheats would make even less sense.
Make it be part of the curse, at this point you are just trying to find excuses to make a story that doesn't need to be an isekai into an isekai, and be needlessly aggresive about it.
>I'm admitting publishing models between west and japan are different, nip writers aren't confined to writing fanfics on low-traffic internet forums for years before they're snatched for publishing, this allows less experienced writers to get published much faster.
Yes, i know that, and because that lack of quality filtering is why we are seeing more and more low quality works.
How is the argument affected with him not knowing about japanese stuff? in no way, if you trully need it, then take the Tales of route and make those japanese stuff into part of the world as well, but that would be shit world building.
>find excuses to make a story that doesn't need to be an isekai into an isekai,
So do you.
>quality filtering
>we
Fuck off. There are entire burning dumpsters of westernshit you can enjoy faggot get your grabby sausage censuring hands off japanese media, literally last producers of free entertainment media in the world riddled by sjw and communism.
I really like that after Mangagamer released SR people started to post best boy Rance again
Funny how Yea Forums has civil Rance discussion right now but Yea Forums is full of Yea Forums shitposting inside and outside shonen threads. Pretty sure you can't even create Rance thread in Yea Forums anymore
t crossboarder
But i hate censorship, an i hate westernshit sjw stuff too, the only thing i'm asking is good writing and a good story from a compentent writer, that's all, you can keep the isekai stuff all you want, i only need a good reason on why it is isekai, if the stories have common tropes, ok, but give me good characters with actual personalities that make sense, and a good investing story. But ok, i think i'll leave it here, i'm sorry if i insulted you in any way, i was just explaining my point, enjoy what you like, i'll enjoy what i like, good luck and goodbye for now.
>How is the argument affected with him not knowing about japanese stuff?
By the fact that you were proven wrong about "exactly the same but without isekai" and that you are visble moving the goalposts now.
Love, Chunibyo
I'm Yea Forums crossboarder.
>good writing and a good story from a compentent writer
And you were told that majority of isekai authors are amateurs publishing/serializing their first works.
You've entered a discussion with unjustified expectations and without educating yourself about the industry first.
You have insulted your own intelligence but I forgive you for that.
Sorry for returning, but... i love Konosuba, i find Re: Zero interesting, so Shield hero, sword dad isn't bad, besides what i have explained, and Now and then, here and there was a depressing journey, i don't really have big expectations, but well, i'm off now, i have an isekai to write, with bounty hunters, hookers, rednecks, magic artifacts, naked feral girls, demon JC girl with a persona, witches, scientists, vampires, horse races... and Jesus.
The one with the most tasty biscuts
Go and leave your shitty fanfics out of Yea Forums.
This reverse isekai would have been better if it kept these characters and wasn't on hiatus.
user don't send him to shit up other boards, its not polite.
>CR announced a 2nd and 3rd season right out of the bat
>check if its true
>its fucking true
FUCKING WHY?
JESUS... THERE ARE MORE ISEKAI LNs OUT THERE, WHY SHIELD HERO... AGAIN? INSTEAD OF SOMETHING LIKE:

>Overlord S4
>Why would you want S4?
>Farmville with armored girl

Is Shield Hero getting the Overlord treatment?
How good will the CG be?
the one where nip fema took reverse isekaied elf knight into quarantine
Mushoku Tensei was already announced, though?
>FUCKING WHY?
because why not?
Shield keeps winning, baby
Goblin slayer

>Log Horizon S3
You know why that's not happening.
Floating point numbers are the worst.

Great that Slime doesn't have to deal with that.
>i'm sick of this woodcutter bs
>create a reactor
duuuuuude
just swim bro
can't wait to see the slime killing 15.000 CGI soldiers.
Nips consider any animation to be anime you fucking retard. "anime" outside of japan is used to refer exclusively to japan animation.
From the sound of it Maruyama isn't really invested in any of his works. He's a salaryman and loves being a salaryman. He did OL as a side project and it seems he just wanted a quick buck by licensing out his WN. However, when it was picked up as a LN he had to have serious editorial oversight. Albedo for instance wasn't in the WN, some of the other stuff was changed around as well.
Chinks loved it.
And americans and... Australians?
dishonest isekai
>Australians
Yeah, the tweets of a guy who went to the talk show event said that the staff was rather amazed that overseas popularity is unexpectedly good, mentioning those three countries.
>Evil cult is at it again causing trouble in town
>MC kick cultist ass with slimes
>town life back to normal and MC is regarded as a hero
>MC have to leave town because he's too popular for his own good
>random Dryad gushing maple syrup between her legs and thirsty for MC
>MC reached new town
rinse and repeat
This isekai story in a nutshell
Just watched the movie of this and it was fucking great.
Zero no Tsukaima
Fallout 4
I don't get it
How can you even treat that character seriously when she does this? No matter where raccoons are always shitty characters
Jnovel licensed and has already released the first 3 books and is already working on book 4?
Keep your shit opinion to yourself.
Druaga was great but you are not helping the case by posting reaction faces from some dumb harem shit
Yeah you have to deal with boring ass writing instead.
I have mixed feelings with that characters since she has the name of my mom.
I just want Neia and Kingdom obliteration via Meteor Strike animated. Also chad Jaldabaoth tossing princess's body and bits at her knights was kino af. The most action heavy arc not getting animated would be a crime.
>No Game no Life S2
Because plagiarism
>Overlord S4
It probably will
>Log Horizon
Its probably been too long at this point
>Youjo Senki
Would be nice
based
>Sword Art Online
It ain't an Isekai no matter what anyone, even the author, tries to say. If it's all just an illusion via videogame technology then it's the equivalent of the Eternal Tsukuyomi.
You know what I hate from fantasy? Is that there is always MC or a love interest with brown/black hair, AND if isn't one is isekai.
>AND if isn't one is isekai.
Do I have to spell it for you?
I don't understand pavement ape, use proper English.
I would like a translation as well.
Okay, 10 yo boy, I will explain it in an easy way. In a simple fantasy setting MC or the interest romance of it will have brown/black hair. In the case of they don't have either one of them will be a reincarnated from Japan to make the readers project themselves on them..
Has there ever been an Isekai where the reincarnated isekai’d person is actually a reincarnation of a past hero? Like Hero -> Japanese dude -> New dude w/ Jap dude’s memory
Jesus Christ ESL kun at least make an attempt.
Shit theory by the way
>theory
Is a fact idiot. Read any one you want and they all be like that.
Refer to nigger.
>MUH ENGLISH
Good argument, peasant.
Chink isekai, mainly cause reincarnation is practically built in for their settings.
manganelo.com
Yes. It's by the same author as Durarara and baccano. It's pretty nice.
Demon Lord from another world gets falsely slain and his back up reincarnation spell summons him inside a recently killed boy in our world.
Peasants are the ones who tend to have issues with articulation as you are clearly showing everyone here. This is the difference between our education, or rather your lack of education.
top 3 worst
1 overlord
2 log horizon
3 shield hero
is dragon ball an isekai?
goku goes to a new world different from his own
>they all be like that
>Nigger speak
The MC of Death Mage Something Something is the reincarnation of three heros and a demon lord.
Not exactly. It's the pieces of soul of three heroes that were tainted with death mana from the demon king after those souls were broken by it.
Does it happen at the very start, or is it the root premise of the series? Just because Clannad has a baseball episode doesn't mean it's a sports show.
>drink 100x of the normal dosage
Even if have passive skill to reduce the effect shouldn't MC be a fetus by now?
Boring Sword Saint being really popular amongst women will always be a real mystery to me
>Because plagiarism
No. They release movie you know? In 2017
Underrated post.
yeah it really should have been human girly anal
Sword Arts Online
Not because it's good.
Isekai would be fine if not for Gary stu self insert garbage. Series like Slime or Overlord had good premise that got ruined by MC's being unbeatable shits loved by everyone that auto succeeded at everything.
Don't mind me. Just posting the best isekai that ever was.
youtube.com
>Slime
>being unbeatable shits loved by everyone that auto succeeded at everything.
LMAO
The only way "not to succeed" for a nation building story is by either artificially dragging things along like repeatedly having building-projects fail for some reason, or otherwise by lowering the stakes in general, which would equal to "being boring". One more possible way is for the MC to get captured needing to be rescued by friends, but that would be cliché as fuck too. Then there is the final method of MC permanently dying, but then you have no story or at least the parts up until then lose all re-reading/re-watching value. So yea, you have no idea what you are talking about.
>doesn't even consider the MC losing their nation an option
but what if every one of MC's citizens just fucking died and couldn't be brought back?
You're good people.
What're you talking about?
Based and Boomstickpilled
Explain, what changed because of the tsunami?
It'll be between Re:Zero or Konosuba.
The reason is because neither is wish fulfillment garbage made for the lowest common denominator.
Take a look at example A: who hates it because the character is his own flawed character rather than a perfect self insert character.
How do you not know this? Tsunami fucked Japan, the damage included fucking over several anime studios and indirectly harming even those not affected by damaging Japan's purchasing power for a while, causing anime released in that time to have noticeably less sales.
>but what if every one of MC's citizens just fucking died and couldn't be brought back?
That would add a "tragedy" tag to the story. The author isn't obligated to satisfy edgefags if he doesn't want to write such a story.
Oh yeah I knew about that, I thought you were talking about plot point or story changes happening due to it.
