Texhnolyze

I choose Sora no Woto, which is Haibane Renmei done right.

pretentious girl who attract pretentious weeb

Lain > Texh > Haibane

Someday...

Based.

Niea

@193478578 (You)

Lain.

Haibane is just a rip-off.

Haruki Murakami’s The end of the world was plagiarized by Haibane’s author.

If we’re going by opening segments alone
>Lain
>Texh
>Haibane

What about ending themes?

Texh > Haibane > Lain

I reject your reality and substitute my own

Attached: NieA_7 2002.jpg (1840x1296, 405K)

This is your mind on lainfag

Texhnolyze.

Is Haibane Renmei a isekai?

?? your mind on ??
Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean.

Are these shows just pretentious shit people put on their 3x3s to farm taste points or are they actually worth watching?

men of culture

They're all neat but nothing touches the surface episodes in Texhnolyze

This but in reverse

If you haven't watched them, you shouldn't even be on this board.

Theyre not pretentious at all. In fact I'd say they're very heartfelt, especially Haibane and Texhnolyze

Haibane
I like all three though

That's a tough choice but I guess I'll go with Haibane Renmei. It's just so comfy and I'm only normally depressed afterwards instead of cripplingly depressed as with Technolyze.

I did my thesis on Lain

Texhnolyze ez

Haibane

I know what you mean, I just take things really slowly. There are a lot of classics I still haven't seen.
If that's the case I should get around to watching them, thanks.

Lain's really strange and avant-garde, but it's not "pretentious".

Texhnolyze and Haibane are not nearly as strange and avant-garde and are actually quite sensible and easier to follow, though they're much deeper stories than Lain in my opinion

I choose Ryuushika!

lain

Good taste

Attached: 1556329298906.jpg (858x1200, 419K)

i choose the one with the most moe character

Attached: yoshiii.jpg (360x360, 19K)

anything but lain fuck that trash

Haibane, Lain was good too, texhnolyze was trash

You are trash.

Attached: 1568237766916.gif (143x345, 1019K)

Texhnolyze is easily the better of the two.

Attached: 1556240581070.jpg (704x480, 35K)

Lain is the only truly pretentious show on there. It was probably appropriate in the time that it was released, but now it's just wank fuel for wannabe film majors.

I've never heard of any of these!

Attached: tenor.gif (415x498, 2.97M)

I don't know why, but the picture on the right in your image always makes me hugely nostalgic. I don't know for what. Maybe for an early 2000s, pre-smart phone age. It just seems to exude an incredible warmth.

How Abe does it man, i dont know

Go watch them right now. Don't come back until you're finished.

I'll take the one that isn't dead.

Oh, never mind.

haibane
shit's cute

Attached: 1557384186533.png (640x640, 390K)

Are you implying that Onishi isn't cute?

Attached: IMG_20190922_163417.jpg (1280x720, 56K)

never said he wasnt

I have no idea what's going on but I can tell this is art.

Attached: I-said-no-onions.jpg (584x320, 20K)

LETS ALL LOVE LAIN

Attached: scan7.jpg (2394x3318, 2.56M)

Would any of you wonderful anons actually tell me what you liked so much about Texhnolyze. Finished it last night and although there were a lot of great aspects (eg. direction, art, imagery), I really don't feel it is nearly as underrated as people like to make it out to be. Although it does it well, it seems to just stick to muh nihilism. And Yoshii no where near as good of a character as people here like to make him out to be. I enjoyed the show im convinced that if it was less niche no one would be putting it in their charts.

Yoshii is the least nihilistic character of the entire show. He understood how bad things really were and tried to make it better.

>it seems to just stick to muh nihilism
sure its nihilistic, but its way more optimistic then that. What i got from it iis that its message is that life may have no inherit meaning so you should do everything to make meaning and if you die even the most horrible death with all of humanity going out with you, you can die happy if you had a purpose in life. That was the whole journey of ichise

I choose haibane biimu

Attached: Rakka beam.jpg (660x700, 171K)

Why was lain so cute? Like when she wears her bear suit or hops down the stairs on her way to school?

How did he make it better? To me it seemed more that he just embraced the absurdity of it all and enjoyed himself. What was there to gain my killing people and sending them to war with each other besides self satisfaction?

he saw that on the surface stagnation led to the theonormals giving up and just accepting extinction. He wanted to prevent that once he saw that the people of lux were going down the same path with how stagnant things were getting so diecided to cause chaos to force the people of lux not to go down the same path as the theonormals. unfortunately he was killed before he could fully enact his plan and kill the class

Haibane Renmei is the best.
If I had to watch one of these three once before I die, I’d choose Texhnolyze.
But if the show I choose is the only one I can see for the rest of my life, I choose Lain.
But yeah,
Haibane > Lain >Texhnolyze. Haibane and Lain are in my top 6.
They are not pretentious, you dumb fuck. I hate that shitty word you guys use to make any show to make it look like it doesn’t have any value.

He didn't want Lux to have the same fate as the world above. A life filled with sorrow, anger and vengeance is better than a life with no meaning at all.

Did he plan to destroy the class? truly the man of men

truth

Attached: theweakshouldfearthestrong.jpg (1920x1080, 254K)

he was aiming the sniper at them. I dont remember what stopped him from shooting tho

Shinji pulled a gun on him, I think.

oh shit thats ironic as fuck

Fuck off

Also Haibane(really have special place in my heart) > Lain > Texh

I want to believe

Attached: despera_03.jpg (1024x639, 147K)

Don't stop believing!

Attached: 1548545485039.png (640x504, 80K)

Hold on to that feeling!

Attached: 001.png (1782x1456, 1.3M)

do we know anything about despera other than the main girl's design? Anything on the setting or story?

I have her book but I can't read it.

Attached: roman_album.jpg (1200x1200, 293K)

I'm willing to burn down five kyoanis as long as this anime gets made.

i wonder what studio despera will be made by

fpbp

There's an untranslated light novel and we know the basic synopsis. It's set in the 20's and the main girl, Ain, is some sort of prodigal inventor. Going by the few images we have in the book the story is going to get pretty dark.

my niggas

Attached: 026-027.jpg (1740x1236, 1.83M)

Also there's going to be a maid episode.

And it's in 3D!

Reminder Lain PSX, Nightmare of Fabrication and the show all take place in the same continuity

Electric girls vs tank corps

>get a netflix licenced anime show with QUALITY 2.5D!
Even if it's going to be created it will never be the same since ryu is dead. But yoshitoshi abe is still here, despite that, it will never be the same

i wonder what director they could get on. Hiorshi Hamasaki could work considering he did texhnolyze with abe and konaka but i wonder if despera is the type of show hamasaki is suited to

first half of haibane renmei is so comfy, second half is cathartic and emotional. clearly the best show.

Haibane Renmei is the one for me, I love Reki and Rakka to much, characters searching redemption and old european towns are what make me love so much Haibane Renmei.

Attached: Reki looks out Rakka's window.png (428x242, 149K)

He was the only one left in this world at the end, all humans died or either fucked off and killed themselves

Reminds me of the new WTC a bit

Lain is 1/10 garbage and I never bothered with Tex while Haibane I give a perfect score.

>muh nihilism
It's so odd to me that people can still misunderstand this show after so long, Texhnolyze has a pretty firm rejection of nihilism as a core theme. The entire ending with Ichise looking at the flower and talking about how even with everything that's happened he was glad to have met Ran and been changed by her should have been enough of a clue, but there's plenty of other parts of the show that place value in characters that continue to struggle despite their bleak situation and that their stuggle isn't meaningless

You're 1/10 garbage

Attached: 004.png (1024x725, 1.72M)

Is there a reason you never bothered with Texhnolyze? I wasn't too fond of Lain either but I rate Haibane and Texh in my top 5.

Despera when??

I miss this kind of anime

Is it scanned? If not, scan it and someone will translate it. maybe

>wanting to get the anime spoiled

Part of me wants to scan it, but more of me doesn't want to ruin my physical copy. If I can get my hands on a spare, I'll scan it.

death by boredom

I don't particularily like any of them but Haibane was comfy.

unironically came here literally for this actually

I choose Haibane, because it's probably my most favorite work of fiction of all time. I also enjoyed Texhnolyze quite a lot and even gave it multiple watches, but there isn't as much emotional connection for me. Lain was an interesting watch, but it's my least favorite of the three. Even then, I'd rather not sacrifice any of these shows. Can I sacrifice 100 random seasonal shows and keep these three?

So does Haibane renmei have depressing death of the world and suicide themes like the other two? thinking of watching it but I feel like it might just be more of the same.

>depressing death of the world
No, Haibane Renmei is rather optimistic and there's nothing "big" happening in the show, it's set in a small town

>suicide themes
Yes

Suicide and depression are heavy themes of the show but it's used very differently from the other two, it's very personal.

Yes, but its a more wholesome experience.

Haibane with Lain as a close second. I loved the OP song of Haibane.

Too deep for nu-Yea Forums.

I love NieA.
One day I'll translate the rest of the manga. You'll see.
