The gear does a good job at absorbing heat. Granted, it can only absorb so much before failing but as long as you put water on the fire quick enough it isn't an issue.

The gear also traps heat from escaping your body and is basically the equivalent of a heavy winter coat. I'm on the fatter side which makes it worse, I overheat on the fire ground and rescue(cutting people out of card) ground constantly

What was with the animation in this episode. Like a slide show. Literally minutes worth of pictures for seconds at a time.
