Exactly how different is the CCS dub?
The reason I ask is because I watched CCS and was looking for a particular scene I remembered from an episode of Cardcaptors as a kid, but never found it.

Depends on what dub
localization was real iffy around that time. I know people who saw random versions of this as kids done by some local station. hard to tell

It's very different. I think they took out all the romance scenes. They tried to edit it so Syaoran seemed even more relevant, I guess to appeal to boys. Bunch of other edits and whatever.

The TV dub is edited down to be kid friendly. The post 90's dub are full but still iffy. Really in this point I would say go subs.
Dubs depending on the station would do different things. I know CN did weird things to Sailor Moon but kept close to everything else. WB was mis translations and cut out "objective" things. Fox was the one who threw everything out the window and basically made their own OC content, more like an edit rather than a dub.

Cardcaptor Sakura was renamed Cardcaptors and dubbed internationally which became two cuts. One was the full series, but the dialogue changes approved by 4kids. This is common to find outside of the US like Australia. The other is the 4Kids cut which uses the same dub, but edits the series to be more action based so the episode count is cut down, events happen out of order, etc.
A later Asian market dub appeared which tends to be considered also pretty bad, but it's more true to the series. A rip of the 1st season was on nyaa last I checked.
Australia put out a handful of Cardcaptor DVDs covering the first 15 or so episodes in order. Maybe a little more? But it stopped soon after for poor sales.

The dub was done by Nelvana, and outside of 1 or 2 episodes and the 2nd movie skipped it covers the entire anime.
