Overrated.
Spirit Circle was great though.

I liked em both (and Sengoku Youko too) but Spirit Circle definitely is the best.

Same

I like the characters, action and the plot.

It's a battle manga that actually has an ending, which is a rare thing.

It's cool

Actually good coming of age story with a relatable protagonist.

Its also a battle manga with:
1. A actual end goal
2. An ending
3. Didn't get axed halfway trough and needed to half assed finish in the last volume
Meanwhile for worse works like M0x it was mediocre shit until they author got axed signs, and suddenly stepped up to what the manga could have been for the finale volume.

>bought the first volume for $8
>now it's selling for $80
/bis/ aint got shit on me

One of the few times where the word "overrated" perfectly described a piece of media. Story was extremely forgettable and the main characters were equally as forgettable at best and a fucking bother at worst. Pretty much any other battle manga is better.

Most battle manga gets axed while having no scope.
Isn't it amazing user?

(You)

you are too young to get it

If you don't get it you should probably fuck off.

The art was good, the story was nice and actually got you at times and the whole thing was fun.
Spirit Circle is the best given how all the other series were connected to this..
Sengoku Youko was also nice but at one point the lack of translations killed the fun for me until I found it again and finished it.

>Story was extremely forgettable and the main characters were equally as forgettable
So you have Alzheimers?

I also felt this was overrated shonen garbage.

>shonen
user I...

Because it's great. That's all.

To be contrarian since no one is reading this garbage.

Because.

I liked spirit circle more, but they are both S tier

Shinsuke is the best character that Mizukami has ever written

Attached: 017.jpg (2134x1600, 957K)

Fuckin' love the guy's work, got a bit disappointed with his anime though

my man
Sengoku Youko > biscuit hammer > spirit circle
i like them all and spirit circle is really good, but i liked the characters more in biscuit hammer (everyone got to shiny in a way, its pretty rare too see a story where every character gets to shiny as much as in this one)
and sengoku youko is my personal favorite

my turbo nigga

my favorite panel
its kind of cliche, but the weakest one being the breavest is just such a nice move
and the way its done it just feels honest

Attached: the weakest one.jpg (619x268, 37K)

they allowed important characters to die for the sake of the story
it's nice

Based. I consider Spirit Circle the author's magnum opus, the other 2 just don't have the same emotional height.

One of the first manga I read. And one of the blandest thing I ever read, too. Dont get how overrated it is.

I'll forever hate this manga for prompting people into shopping the biscuit hammer into otherwise good wallpapers.

That's a thing?

>when they have that reunion with the time travelers and they choose that little guy to represent all the demons

it's the little details

Attached: x17.png (3424x1231, 1.61M)

Yes, unfortunately.

because it's good.

because it's great

because it's amazing

This.
I dont know if it was because I read it in high school, but biscuit hammer really did not leave a big impression on me. The character writing was very strong, but that was about it to me.

>tfw you will never serve a qt princess and destroy the world together

I fucking love him.

had a talk with a buddy about how he wasn't vibing with Mizukami recently. He was actually not feeling him cause Mizukami is someone who's very clearly aware of the tropes and writing tricks that usually are present in works like his, but he doesn't really go out of his way to actually subvert or deconstruct them. At most, he lampoons them a bit, a little nudge and wink to the reader.

I think that really solidifies why I like him. A lot of works these days go out of their way to subvert or deconstruct storytelling methods, some with an actual point, others just for the sake of it, some does it really well, a lot just fumbles. In a lot of his works, Mizukami tends to stick to these age-old tricks, hand picks the one that he likes, and goes "you know what's fucking awesome? this trope. I'm gonna put it in my story". It's like, a level of self and meta introspectiveness but not used to critique, but to handpick the good shit, or at least the shit he likes.

and luckily enough, most of the time, he's able to tie his shit up really reallly fucking well. He does all this without sacrificing the actual plot, or character arcs. hell, it's weaved in in such a way that it becomes almost the backbone of it, where without it working as a payoff or setup, it wouldn't've worked in the first place.

To top it all off, even with the self awareness, he's still incredible sincere about the whole thing, with almost no hint of irony, a malicious one at least. It shows in his writing.

I really love him. I hope he finishes the Planet With serialization quick, so he can move forward with a whole new story.

What the fuck was up with the title translation?

Agree.

people cream about Mizukami's multi page spreads and shit, but that page is probably my single favorite from his.

Great pick user.

Fuck you OP for reminding me. Now I have to start my annual Mizukami Satoshi read.

Spirit Circle is unarguably Mizukami's best work, but Samidare remains my favorite. The cast of characters, their interactions and development, etc all just managed to hit all the right buttons with me.

Couldn't have put it better myself
