I see exactly where he's going with Kirishima and Mina since its been done so many times. Mina doesn't see Kirishima as "manly" because Kiri wants to tell Mina himself that he's ready. He's not going to do that, nor is his story or hers is going to progress until That moment comes. Until then you're not going to see much out of them since Hori drops plot points and don't continue them until years later.

But user, Kirishima's story has already progressed. He's already a different person now than he was when he left middle school. And the people who've inspired his growth since then have been Bakugou, Deku, and Tetsu.

You forget about Hori's number one rule of subverting his audiences expectations. Because it's been done several times before is the number one reason why it won't happen this time.

Kirishima did change pretty much after the Yakuza Arc. What a nice boy.
