I'm going to miss this serie.
Just watched the episode. AOTS for me.
Man, as a Yuropoor I feel envious. I want an asteroid to hit Earth already.
>have the technology to produce hundreds of thousands of wormholes
>don't just use it to massively reduce the asteroid's mass
You mean Seira, right
They massively reduced Earth population just_as_planned.
Really great series. Sure there were some stretches here and there, but overall it was a really well told story that wrapped up nicely. An entire episode for the epilogue really helped a lot, too. It was a good call.
Not many series end up not feeling rushed.
By the way, I must have a memory lapse. Who was pic related?
Kanata's mentor that died when he was on a school trip. He was mentioned in an earlier episode.
Somehow it took me until the final episode to realise that Funi was voiced by Kino Hina.
I actually thought he was the mentor, but I didn't remember how he looked.
Yeah.
youtu.be
Nothing of what happened makes any fucking sense. The entire alternate history is pointless. This anime is so fucking retarded. Nice trainwreck.
>This anime is so fucking retarded.
You should've noticed it during episode 2, that's when I dropped this turd.
>charce was absolved of all wrongdoings
yikes

It would have been much better if he died, or if he spontaneously went to jail like the King and the parents of the other kids.
No nations, no immigration.
samefag
>have the energy to open thousands of wormholes
>asteriod is still years away from Earth
Why not just use said energy to vaporize the asteroid and disperse the vapor over a huge area?
You sure about that?
>not one scene where aries hugs her mother
comeon now
Same
Not a trainwreck. More like a Titanic. Shit floated as well as everyone thought it would.
If only the journey through the planets wasn't so badly written, it might have been decent.
Author needed his disarmament wish fulfillment and he didn't care what excuseses he had to come up with to make it happen
Why didn’t the originals just throw their clones in a meat grinder? Or shot them in the face in the first planet when they are unsuspecting? Because this show was about the characters and the journey and the friends we made along the way and plotfags belong in the gas chamber.
based
this, the beginning and the end were nice but the middle was really bad
Holy fuck she's ugly. I really hate that hairstyle.
Would've been Kino if he got the Halo 3 treatment. In Cryosleep, lost in space.
A search and rescue would also give Kanata and co. a concrete purpose to explore the space other than "moar adventures"
I can't believe that my 147 old part-time teacher is so hot
I will miss those dorks, very enjoyable story.
Are Ulgar and her fucking?
>her
>Only had time to watch the episode now
>Can't find Astra in the archive
Someone please be a bro and link one of the older threads, my eyes are a little watery after that nice conclusion.
This is the most hackneyed sci-fi garbage I've ever watched. Literally every plot development (if there was any in this trainwreck of loosely connected events) is based on convenient asspulls and contrivances. Fuck Kadokawa for making this crap. I'd pick a trashy isekai over KnA any time.
so why did they create clones but then sent them to die? I forgot
...
Cheers
He's literally fucking Polina, Funi and Luca
JUST
I liked it, especially since it was a complete story. It was more of a feel good adventure story. Everything was way too convenient, and not once did I ever feel these guys were in danger or anything. Some of the plot was a bit of a stretch. Still the characters were great and their interactions and growth carried the show.
He's going to marry Funi once she graduates
Because of dystopian DNA database been implemented.
>I just happened to forget one of the major plot points of the series
Reminder this will never happen with a normal right hand
Why can't they just bribe those people testing DNA instead of the elaborate mass murder plan?
Theres literally nothing wrong with lying for peace
Even if the official testers can be bribed, the results themselves will be public, so the danger of somebody doing a random test and discovering the forged results is extremely high.
Of course, the part about people rioting after they let out the truth is just stupid.
Hmmm...

True. Astra is like an utopian Earth where the new government opted (and managed to) to reduce violence by erasing or manipulating history and fallacious ideologies. That's literally what any advanced society should strive to do. Lies don't kill.
t. bootlickers
>ftl starships
>wormholes
>somehow an asteroid is a problem
>weeklong stays in space are a problem
This is why fantasy scifi is and will always be garbage.
You convinced me.
Quick, burn down the constitution!
>muh meteor was destroyable
Fucking brainlets, the elites had the chance to make a world gov so they did.
Getting rid of religion should have been a big enough hint.
Glad to see this still around.
>dystopian DNA database been implemented
Like what we have now?
>having the constitution in the first place
Have you prayed to Allah today Mohammed?
The asteroid was a miracle
To actually believe that you can eradicate religion and with it any kind of metaphysical research is literally retarded since it's ingrained in human nature. You could eradicate rituals and religious institutions, but you'll never eliminate religion itself. The author clearly doesn't understand shit about what he's writing. Especially if you consider that this retard actually seems to believe that religion is a reason to go to war, when in reality it was always used an excuse made for the public. Wars always and only happen to gain resources.
Fuck this shit and fuck that retard.
>Let me invent excuses to save this retarded plot
Fuck off. You're the worst kind of fan.
So this is why aries is /hc/
>attach ship to rock
>turn engine on
>enjoy avoided collision caused by miniscule change in velocity and the implications on orbits and mechanics
The author is a retard and unfortunately he picked the worst genre for his kind. Isekai is a much better fit and would unironically have worked better even if all things remained the same.
imagine the sex!
This anime is for total brainlets who are supposed to be in awe after another lazy nonsensical plot twist pulled out of the author's ass. KnA is the universe where spaceships don't even need fuel to travel at the light speed, yet a small crew can barely sustain itself with limited food reserves. Why not also borrow the food replicator from ST while they are at? Right, but that would render the whole adventure part lacking any sense whatsoever. Also, didn't they say that this was the only path from the Earth to Astra that lets you restock food and water which was used for the mass migration? So, if they already had wormholes allowing people to effortlessly TP between the Earth and Astra, why would anyone want to use the goddamn space travel? Holy fuck, this crap was so stupid.
Better praying to Allah than believing globohomo lies.
Why did Ulgar go around showing his armpits?
An utopian society doesn't have any of these things, you stupid nigger. Or it wouldn't be utopian.
>muh everyone just agreed to abandon their beliefs, culture and way of life after the WW3
>muh everyone just didn't tell their kids about the true history
>muh nobody looked into the government bullshit and obvious inconsistencies arising from the documents written before the 1960s and modern day world
>muh WW3 destroyed literally everything, so we've rebuilt all the infrastructure from scratch isn't shady at all
etc. etc.
The author is the only brainlet here
Most asteroids have a spin, this makes it nearly impossible to change it course.
>taking away religious freedoms to keep the society from boiling over isn't dystopian
Mongoloid
I'm surprised there's no conspiracy theorists.
Wasting time nitpicking a sci-fi story won't lead to anything. You will always find new details and plot holes that could have been written in a different way or that don't make sense.
People blow themselves up because of religions. Wake up retard.
haven't watched this yet, I thought this was a manga adaptation? Did they go for anime original ending?
It's a manga adaptation and it's faithful to the source. There are a few original scenes in the first and last episodes.

Talking about mixing the "good" with the "bad".
Everything that can cause extremism on a large scale is socially dangerous.
Did religions ever SERIOUSLY contributed to world peace? No. To some extent all of them have an history of wars and conflicts in the name of an imaginary hero.
For me, it's Yunhua.
cloned cow
It can lead to authors being respected as much or as little as they deserve.
good taste user, also thanks for posting Yunhua
It's literally that easy we just have to do it!
Well, next thread can be funicia's.
>Everything that can cause extremism on a large scale is socially dangerous.
Yeah, of course, faggots like you have all the right answers and solutions for every social issue that exists out there, but first we needs to succumb to the commie ideology to the letter and accept your collective oh-so-enlightened mindfarts as the final truth. Go dilate, wannabe apparatchik marxist tranny.
why is it wrong to clone yourself?
Please use more buzzwords next time.
faceless bureaucracy will achieve world peace

It's like hacking death.
>all the wars in history have been about religion
>ignores all the wars in history for resources and trade routes
>ignores all the wars in history for liberty and power
how can go around claiming this shit when it's clear you haven't fuckin opened up a history book
>To some extent
Yes, i can also play this game so everything can fit perfectly in my argument.
You know, what else is like hacking death? Having kids. This fucking retard, lmao.
And spin is a problem exactly how when they have infinite fuel ftl engines?
The asteoid thing is stupid but pop culture ingrained enough that the author used it without a thought.
I remember that one time in world history where Genghis Khan went around just trying to convert people to the religion of Tengri. It wasn't about plundering China and Silk Road at all
Retards like you makes me feel ashamed that I like HxH.
You are incredibly retarded and stupidly dangerous if you vote. Please don't.
evolutionary stagnation
not like the current age of "fuck natural selection" is any better but it would make things worse, clones as organs banks are OK though
cope smoothbrain
Are you baiting?
Clones were made to transplant the original person's memory into them, in the story it's explained that you can do it only if both subjects possess the same DNA.
You can stop samefagging because I'm not going to give you other (You)s.
Who's Yunhua going to end up with?
I haven't watched the episode yet but doesn't that automatically exclude the artist guy who requested futa "clone"?
Are you literally so dumb you need to be spelled it out for you? Two organisms sharing the same DNA and memories are not a fucking singular entity with a spare body.
>Clones were made to transplant the original person's memory into them
That's not immortality.
By process of elimination, Charce
No, I will gladly genocide inferior races like niggers and corrupt elites if given the go ahead.
I do not need resources.
Kanata.
No one.
>spin is a problem exactly how
Get a degree in astrophysics to understand why, see magnus effect and gyroscopic drift.
>Wars always and only happen to gain resources.
Wars always and only happen because of the ongoing clash of ideologies.
Would you 140 yo russian granny?
>8.10
Justified.

>implying countries with similar ideologies have never fought wars against each other

Go be 12 years old somewhere else, shounenfag.
8.9/10
The prod was solid from the start to the end, the story is retarded but anime amirite and honestly, I have seen far worse than this
Overall I actually enjoy my time watching it, it's something
Is that Ulgar's cum?
people fucking forgetting about the age of imperialism over here
>HxH avatarfag trying to act smart

I think he's purposefully trying to act retarded which is even sadder.

Quiterrie and zack are cuties, best couple
Very good taste.
wouldn't mind practicing the art of Continuation with Yunhua
absolutely correct
What did she mean by this?
Is this related?
It simply means that she missed the food of her home planet. We know Aries' stomach is a bottomless pit.
Zack is definitely the best looking post-time skip.
All her fat went to her chest and thighs in order to satisfy Kanata's lust.
She got fatter tits.
this will get doujins r-right bros?
This show will be forgotten in 2 months.
The previous scene to thisn kanata alone in the main deck was creepy as shit, it could have been easily to bait the viewer into suspecting Kanata
maybe a few, but not many
There is only me to remember them
Normal weight gain during early pregnancy.
>all the wars in history have been about religion
This isn't what the post say.
ah my bad, I only meant to point out the stupidity of only blaming one aspect of why conflicts start and ignoring the rest. I will hand out an olive branch and say that user is right about how large scale extremism is dangerous
How was the scene creepy? Kanata was retracing what happened at the start of the journey to find some clues about the killer.
Probably cause it was him speaking the dialogue of everyone in a monotone voice and not just a simple flashback scene
I posted a month ago that the ending was shit, now you understand.
You don't need degree in astrophysics. Basic Newtonian mechanics will do.
So is the manga ending and anime ending pretty much on-par? Manga is also finished?
There's one. It's a bara doujin about Kanata and his "dad'.
>they changed up the history
>they hid the truth for a long time
>100 years later some teenager tell us the whole story
>IT MUST BE TRUE AND UNDOUBTFUL
Don't know the last time i had that melancholic feeling after finishing an anime series. Damn. Seems like i happened to like this anime more as i had expected. Glad i picked it up and didn't drop it.
The whole story is full of stupid logic leaps.
>quit and funi are clones? WE'RE ALL CLONES!
The clone reveal really pissed me off, I was so excited that Aries was actually an android.
jsut turn off your brain bro
It's bullshit but, well, Charce released all the history data the royal family owned and hid from the public. Also Polina-obaasan must have been somewhat helpful.
In the manga they also examinate Zack and Yunhua's parents' belongings they accidentally brought with them. Only then they get to this conclusion.
>t. speedwatecher
>Charce released all the history data the royal family owned and hid from the public
I doubt he knew the whole story before that. I mean he's just a pawn.
You just proved my point.
marathoning now. just got on episode 3.
i disagree a lot on how much food they say they need and the can store a shitton of water in vessels (maybe cut from wood) and store it everywhere in the ship
>trust fake spoilers
Sasuga user.
Think about religion this way.
There are two groups of people.
Group A believes that doing bad things will be punished by some supernatural power.
Group B doesn't.
Which group would you rather live with?
Clearly we'll all choose group A.
The religion-related bad stuffs happened, because some people from group B pretend to be from group A and manipulate the A community, not because the true group A people want bad things to happen.
People can actually use their brain to deduce stuff? Yeah, sure. Something else?
What's the point of Luca being intersex?
>The religion-related bad stuffs happened, because some people from group B pretend to be from group A and manipulate the A community, not because the true group A people want bad things to happen.
Because of people like you is why we have fanatics and extremists.
To raise the question how is that intersex thing going to work out if you need the same dna for the mindswap to work? And if you don't need the same dna why did they bother with clones in the first place?
To show that "artists" are filthy degenerates
1. Cute
2. Funny
It was also somewhat creepy in the manga too, since him being all alone and monologing looked like he was the only survivor of some disaster and he was now in shock.
>guns abolished 100 years ago
i guess america nuked itself at some point
>"abolished guns"
What does that even mean?
Suppressed the tech just like with wormholes.
Drawn by methonium
>wormholing the bullet directly inside the brain
Why not open a big wormhole in front of the asteroid and have it shoot out on the other side of earth so it doesn't actually destroy the planet?
Why are you even posting in this thread?
It wouldn't fit. Otherwise would you guarantee the results? Fail means death. You always have to prepare plan B.
also yunhua got a doujin pretty fast
exhentai.org
Quitterie aged like milk, Jesus Christ.
Also I'm surprised Polyna didn't become a bigger deal, considering she's literally the oldest living human ever and probably the last person alive who was old enough at the time of the migration to actually remember earth.
As if praying to a figment of your imagination is somehow better than a bloodless bending of actual reality. The obliteration of religion as a whole should be what Mankind strives for, it's done nothing but hamper the species and harm the world.
>can't use Sadpanda because my account got suspended
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FUCK
am i being baited in watching this? episode 4 better have been the lowest of the low in this show.
>inhale poison so poison giver gives you medicine
>wormholes were used to assasinate
Surely there was a fat NEET who had this power and raped little children, the image of a fat guy doing this makes me laugh.
The more he knows about stuff that his original knows, the less problems the mind transfer would entail.
There are, they just get silenced or laughed at as fringe fuckweeds. There was literally no evidence except what Vixia possessed in its archives to suggest that history unfolded any differently than what was taught. Imagine someone running around to, say, the Japanese media claiming the Egyptian pyramids were actually built by the Japanese 1000 years before the established dating currently taught in History. No one would buy that shit without records to prove it, but those records are currently buried beneath Osaka castle in Japan, guarded by the Imperial Family, and only that family is privy to the knowledge that Japan's people originated in what is Northern Africa, and that Jimmu Tenno was never actually Japanese.
You can feed the fetus different hormones to modify their growth without altering the genes to produce an intersex.
>Surely there was a fat NEET who had this power and raped little children

If only they found Polina BEFORE the beach episode...
Can someone explain me the age gap between Charce and Aries ?
>t. illuminist guy from 1789
You should open a book for once. The retarded illuministic view of religion has been debunked a over and over again, even by atheists. Describing religion as a simple belief in a supernatural being is like describing a chair as a furniture while ignoring its purpose.
t. guy that doesn't follow any religion but has actually some decent reason to do so.
>Can someone explain me the age gap between Charce and Aries ?
Aren't the same age or close in age since they're both clones made at or around the same time.
How was the spaceship Astra able to last for a hundred years floating in Earth's orbit, let alone still be functional? Why was it even abandoned in the first place?
>Did religions ever SERIOUSLY contributed to world peace? No.
Wrong Christianity castrated the european breed of man, before christianity whites had wars for the simplest reasons and couldnt care about the euro on euro bloodbaths they left behind. I mean think about it Romans were genocidal to the Carthage, the Gauls and jews. Christianity castrated white people making their utopia faggot thinking process possible where "all war is evil and bad waah hugs and kisses".
Great finale! If there was one gripe I had about it, it would probably be how they chose not to change the voice actors after the timeskip. Or at least some of them. Funi getting Quitterie's VA and Quitterie getting her "moms" would've been awesome.
Also, how come Charce didn't take advantage of the many chances he had to kill everyone before he was redeemed?
According to the last episode,vCharce would be around 10 years older than Aries, something like 25 y/o, not a high-schooler.
He enjoyed his freedom along with all the planet exploring and also likes his new friends.
>140 years old granny
No thanx.
Why wouldn't it be? Space is much less dangerous to the materials than atmosphere.
Also why the fuck an autist like Zack didn't notice that the ship was 100 years old? He surely piloted one to get his licence, how can he not tell an ancient ship apart from a modern one?
The fuck are you talking about, nigger? There were constant wars in 2nd millenia.
>go FTL
>a peck of dust rips through all of your tissues, electronics and shielding
Maybe he's tiny and can pass as a kid as he was locked up.
He needed Aries to survive and couldn't do that by himself. It was literally explained in last episode.
Is it still a tomboy if they have a penis?
They probably have a magnetic shielding or whatever fancy technobabble they use to explain why there's no damage happening during FTL travel.
But it wasn't goinf ftl, it was parked and shielded by parts of earth and asteroid from other asteroids. That and luck, since it's pretty rare to be hit.
There's tons of shit in Earth's orbit that will absolutely wreck anything that collides with it, and the amount of shit would almost certainly have increased after a hundred years.
>Woke 200%
>Astra was actually Star Trek: The Prequel - Le Globalist World Empire.
holy fuck why the best subs so underseeded?
nyaa.si
Bros I just watched the entire series, it's 4am now
I loved the entire cast, everything made sense.
It all fit together like a puzzle in the end.
Charce said that he was seventeen just one week before camp. The clone of Noah Vix and Seira were made at the same time.
The ideas i have read about destroying the meteor in these threads are even more cartonish than anything the show itself pulled off.
They don't have records of such ships and the modern ones look very closely related to the Astra's model, which seems just as useful for safe space travel as you can get, so i don't think it's very far fetched to believe technology got to virtual halt in terms of spaceships.
I'm more worried about the seemingly infinite energy source these things apparently have on board, but it's not the focus of the show so whatever.
I loved the story and the crew but STOP BITCHING EVERY 2 SECONDS AND ACT LIKE MEN YOU FUCKING CRYBABIES !.
How Luca grew so amazingly fuckable?
Is this an ancestor of Reinhard von Lohengramm?
holy fuck does anybody have a link to episode 8 thread? that was some big fuck you to tsundere
holy shit I can't believe I never saw the similarities
The finale was unbelievably corny but everyone getting a happy ending was very satisfying to see. Kanata's a true blue spaceship captain now that he has a cool prosthetic too. Him going from clueless to married in seven years was also miraculous.
>several apparently cloned kids return
>several high profile arrests
>the number of arrests don't match the number of clones... who is that girl a clone of?
>this guy is a clone of the king... you can see it in his face
>but wait, isn't the girl a clone of... oh my god
Why did this not happen? Do I need to rewatch the flashback episode? Was Seira hidden from the public?
I mean, if a bunch of kids stumbled out of a genetics lab today, revealed to the world that safe human cloning was a thing, and so we find we have teenage Richard Branson, teenage Madonna, teenage Brian Blessed... and what's this? Teenage Princess Diana!? Everyone here in Britain would fucking flip their shit
I was honestly expecting it to go like
>King arrested
>Charce doesn't feel worthy and abdicates to go adventuring
>whoops! looks like Aries is the new monarch!
Yeah, because when Yea Forums stops talking about a series it means they've completely forgotten it. Nothing to do with Yea Forums's usual practice of only focusing on currently airing shows.
You should definitely make a ton of threads that start with "Why does Yea Forums never talk about..." and "Am I the only one who...".

Teen Funi has an adorable voice.
She's no longer cute and funi...

I've been off the internet for some time lately... user, I can't thank you enough for informing me that sadpanda isn't dead after all, oh my god
>unzips dick
I let an user on one of the /h/ threads use my account to see why I couldn't get into Sadpanda (I was able to get in on the day it came back, but I was getting kokomade again afterwards). He could get in fine so he didn't know why I couldn't. I changed my password afterwards for safety, but after that I got the suspension.
it got revived and people think it was just a wakeup call for other to start saving everything. or just an ego trip.
its such a good site though. i fucking look for school swimsuit porn and i get a waterboarding fetish exhentai.org

But that's common knowledge.
why did they think there was a traitor again? i thought after they found out that the parents did it that there was no actual traitor, but seems like i was wrong in episode 10
Why is it miraculous? You do realize there's a 7 year gap and so much can happen in those 7 years?
>cool prosthetic
With super sonic vibrating fingertips
At the end of episode two, Zack discovered that the communication wires had been cut. If they had those then they could have contacted Astra despite being far away.
>giving access credentials to anons on mongolian image board
Why would you do that?
Inbetween ep2 and ep3, zack found out their communications panel had been sabotaged, preventing them from sending a distress signal.
The warp sphere also showed up again, proving that it was being controlled.
Thanks, although I'm not so much into huge titty hentai, my reaction was more about the site itself
seeing you post that link was like seeing my daughter off to college, coming home, turning on the news, finding out the very train she's on derailed over a bridge, hundreds thought dead, punching the TV, screaming in anguish, mourning her loss
and then suddenly she turns up and says she missed the train because she was absentmindedly buying a sandwich as it left the station or something
?not into huge titty anime
ah so lolidom it is exhentai.org
i was also pretty pissed, for instance the above comic was lost to me and unavailable anywhere else
Wtf you guys said Aries had a weird laugh because she was a robot or something. So it's just because the Charce family line has a weird laugh?
>look up the series on Sadpanda
>there's only one doujin for the series
>it's a yaoi doujin
what did they mean by this
Desperation. And Like I said, I almost immediately changed them after giving them out, he couldn't get back in.
Yes, people were just shitposting with the anime only anons.
After all this time I'm still confused: does Luca have "it" or not?
Luca has a dick, no bagina going by what they said.
Luca has both
It's not confirmed. We will never know.
(S)he does (not) have it.
There's no way that he has a vagoo, otherwise they would have realized long before he started going through puberty and his tits grew.
They should roll back the year back to zero to commemorate the massive wormholing of niggers that made their utopian society possible.
This. No niggers or spics so that even when the lid blows off the Big Secret society doesn't devolve into primates hooting and shrieking? I'll have a Coke then.
No, dingus, it was the Chinese. No one in their right mind believes the indolent Nilotic wastrels ever put that kind of effort into anything.
>inb4 Jewish slaves they weren't even fucking there and the Exodus is a lie
Luca's original requested his clone to have both genders' characteristics so this shit may be actually possible. 'Intersex' is the definition Quitterie herself gives to the condition, but we don't know if the term matches the one we know and use in real life.
This is my take anyway.
>they rolled back history!
They changed the date. This was such a confusing way to talk about it.
i want her to step on my dick making this face
God user you are so pathetic.
They rolled it back like frames in a fighting game.
>everyone's dying of poison
>do you a) look for antidote with only other person not dying or b) sing a song
fucking useless retard
I mean, when you get right down to it all that really changes about Astra is the date. Add 100 years and everything's fine. Adjust everyone's records accordingly so that the birthdates are accurate (except Pollina's because she's an old Baba Yaga hag), and life goes on the same way it's done for Astra's history as a human-populated planet.
>>whoops! looks like Aries is the new monarch!
women can't inherit silly
Well I quit watching the anime the same spot where I quit the manga ie when it went full dumb /pol/.
I did like the clones thing but everything after that was pants on head retarded and not necessary in a human drama.
>WWIII breaks out over competition for the new lands being settled on Astra
>your civilization is on Astra to begin with because it's invented wormhole which allows a post-scarcity economy
>your new world order society will be forged on the clever lie that you didn't move to a different planet, trusting only that nobody would notice because you revised the calendar by 100 years
>your new planet has an orbital path, size and rate of rotation which obviates all forms of timekeeping and map-making
>post-scarcity economy
land area is a resource, also climate and weather. why would anyone want to live in a region with massive earthquakes and hurricanes
>why would anyone want to live in a region with massive earthquakes and hurricanes
I hope you're being sarcastic.
I'm watching the dub so I can't read the thread but I wanted to say that this is easily the best show this season and I will miss it dearly. Definitely a future cult classic.
>land area is a resource
This is perhaps the most ridiculous part of the history reveal, considering. If they found one planet suitable for human life, they can't find hundreds or thousands? Our leads found half dozen in a few months.
>why would anyone want to live in a region with massive earthquakes and hurricanes
People already do that here joyfully.
>Who was pic related?
No wonder you didn't mind all of the nonsense that is in this story.
WHERE ARE THE LUCA NUDES REEEEE
>I hope you're being sarcastic.
no? both cause massive amounts of damage and kill. where i live is geologically stable with no extreme weather, mild all year round too.
Fuck off 3DPD.
>I can't read
Everybody knows.
Please take your shit-taste somewhere else.
WHERE ARE THE FUNI NUDES REEEEE
You do realize whole peoples picked such lands to inhabit going all the way back in prehistory for the benefits they gave?
People adapt to minor imperfections of the lands and climates they have to wrest the manner of life which brought them there in the first place.
Since this might be the last Kanata no Astra thread I'd like to point an interesting detail I noticed after I started rewatching. In episode 4, Zack sees Quitterie naked and displays his high level autism. Quitterie berates him for not showing emotions, and just as they walk unto the bridge, they come across Funicia and Luca talking about Beego's catchphrase from his anime. Quitterie casually mentions they should use it more often. Seven years later, when Kanata gives Zack the order to take off, Zack yells "Aye, yeah!", showing that autism boy finally learned to express himself.
>showing that autism boy finally learned to express himself.
After sex with Quitterie.
Disgusting taste. Yunhua nudes would be best.
FUCK WHY DID I WAIT UNTIL THE SERIES WAS OVER TO WATCH IT.
HOW DO WE FEEL ABOUT THE LADY BOY? I WANT TO FUCK HIM. THAT IS ALL.
they chose to live there because they had no other choice, they made do with where they were dropped. give the choice between geologically stable land and mild weather vs yearly flooding and risk of death you'd be a fool to pick the later.
astra is a new choice, why wouldn't there be fighting for the best land. what retard would choose desert over green fertile land, tornado valley over gentle breezes, ring of fire vs not getting Pompeii-ed or krakatoa-ed. most people are stuck where they are due to family/work/no money to move or dumb patriotism to a region, none of that exists when moving to a new planet so again why wouldn't there fighting over the new land
>fat chink fetishist
Kimoi.
>what is Florida
You did the right thing to watch it after it was over, nearly every episode is a cliff hanger.
>who would willingly live in florida
if you had the entire earth would you really choose to live there?
>Zack did NOT install an arm-mounted mini missile launcher
>Kanata says he'll install one himself
god I hope he does
he got away with everything
I didn't choose to live there, I was born there, but my parents chose to move there.
Is Char Amuro?
>wearing Quitterie's star on his beanie
what did he mean by this
Just like in real life. If you're cute you can get away with most things.
It's Funi's star
But he did it with quitterie even before the group returned home.
it started to get annoying, instead of OH SHIT it was more like NOW WHAT?
There's no way he'd fuck her before marriage.
Can we clone her again?
Also she stopped wearing the star, indicating it's hers, and she gets jealous when he spends time with another woman, and she wants to "ride his car". She's 17 and he's 24 so I guess he's waiting for another year?
There was never any contention about finding other habitable worlds. The problem is the logistics because the wormholes were a secret. There wasn't going to be a bootstrap civilization like what happened with Astra getting fast-forwarded by a fully-industrialized Earth's resources and industry. Now that the cat's out of the bag and wormholes are back in session, I fully expect off-Astra colonization of worlds like McPa to kick off with gusto, since you can just 'port everything you need from Astra straight there.
Kinda agree
#notmyfuni
>picking a literal loli clone of the biggest bitch on the ship instead of hot herm boipussy Luca
ISHYGDDT
he says the thing too
>>muh nobody looked into the government bullshit and obvious inconsistencies arising from the documents written before the 1960s and modern day world
They specifically mention at the end that there were people doing just that. Ulgar's brother literally got disappeared because he came to close to it.
All the bad guys were caught and they lived happily ever after.
Let's just sweep everything else under the rug because we don't want to solve all the lose threads.
So guys, what other anime that you enjoyed is never talked about after airing finished?
>claim it's availability of guns and technology which causes wars and violence when its immutable human nature
>deprive people of religion, the only proven means of socialization to tamp down on man's impulse to explore the extremes of human nature
It wouldn't have been a paradise, it would have been a killing fields.
>he doesn't want to Hikaru Genji project his very own loli clone
Despite what it may look like on the cover, the show has a strong right-wing message. Ulfgar was right about everything. They WERE surrounded by conspiracies. The one world government was utterly corrupted and murdered its harmless citizens for trying to pursue the truth. Ulfgar questioned everything and his interest in firearms saved everyone. In the end everybody agreed that the mass rewriting of history was a bad thing and had to be undone.
>forgotten
The anime concluded pretty well so there is no much room left for discussion but that doesn't mean that it will be forgotten.
The show didn't say any of that. The World Government did. Peace was kept by an iron gripped rule that controlled history/information and routinely made people disappear for getting out of line. The Genome Control Act (despite the positive it did for our main characters) is just such an example of the mass control of information by the world government.
The show itself contradicted that narrative. Polina's religion is shown as her source of strength. Ulgar's gun/marksmanship was critical for survival hunting and saving the whole group. Kanata even went directly against the the "guns bad" narrative by forcing Ulgar to keep the gun after the Luca incident. The main characters at the end rail against the hiding of wormhole technology. Are you people so unable to actually interpret the things a show shows you?
>nobody would do it dude, trust me
People are signing up to live on Mars, a planet with no oxygen and bombarded by solar winds such that they have to live underground permanently. This is exactly the character of people who populated frozen tundras and desert wastes.
Face it, it was a convoluted way to construct that retarded backstory only for a "lol wut? everything I know is a lie!" reveal moment. Had civilization a means to resort to FTL and wormhole movement to explore and tie economies together that humanity could enter a post-scarcity phase of existence practically overnight, there would be no reason to keep the secret other than to spin the conspiracy background. Circular reasoning is at play here.
What's interesting is that their supposedly utopian society has a distinct lack of racial diversity. Everybody is a japanese-european hybrid. While this character design is common in anime it usually doesn't affect the plot, but in this case it has major implications. We're told that 2/3 of the world population died, in that case it's quite obvious who came alive out of the last war and successfully immigrated. All caucasians together + japan makes roughly 20% of the world. Not a perfect fit but suspicious. When Polina points at the map of Astra and discusses the shape of continents, the characters recognize that they do have a continent called Africa, but it is doubtful it is as populated as ours.
>muh Government Conspiracy
What's the point of even adding it to the story? Just to give it some spice?
What everything else?
We need to keep in mind that our only source of information about the corruption of history is Charce. The royal family WOULD tell themselves that they did everything in order to ensure world peace. That doesn't mean it's true or that worked or that it was justified, it's what they claim. Charce would obviously be indoctrinated in that direction. If the royal family didn't upheld and enforced the modification of history then they wouldn't be a royal family, they would be a high-tech space immigration service. They clearly do not have a neutral opinion when they say the world government nobly sacrificed truth for peace.
Pretty much, they realized the premise was too similar to Moon otherwise
If this were a western comic you´d have sjw´s critising quitterie for saying marrying zack was her greatest goal, as well as aries for not being a stronk female character that needs nobody.
Am I the only one that wants to fuck the living shit of Aries?
it was objectively by-the-numbers bland shite.
it sort of reminds me of knights and magic, except that was more fun and i also wanted to fuck the cute shota.
all I will probably remember about this thing years on is that it had that pretentious "cinematic" widescreen meme going on.
Charce should have gotten with her, it’s not fair
Shut up Charce.
>infinite fuel FTL engines
Bussard engines are not "infinite fluel". Sure, they are not ramjet versions but more advanced, but they still need to scoop fuel from space.
Does anyone else hate Ulgar? He pointed a gun at the relative of the person that he suspected of having a hand in his brother's death based on minor evidence. He didn't back off because he was convinced that was a stupid thing to do, but because he was convinced that Marco wouldn't care if he did it. He never apologizes for his reasoning, just for threatening Luca when killing him wouldn't have upset Marco. So if Ulgar became suspicious of Funicia then I guess he would have pointed a gun at her too. Him doing anything made the proceeding episodes worse for me because it's dumb that everyone just forgave him for that. Especially letting him keep the gun when he is clearly emotionally unstable. Made the anime a 9/10 instead of 10/10 for me.
>The show didn't say any of that. The World Government did. Peace was kept by an iron gripped rule
>The show itself contradicted that narrative
Oh, I get the messaging, upon review. That's not the problem.
>and routinely made people disappear for getting out of line
Another glaring story flaw. To avoid the issue of just how many the government would have to kill to keep society in line (as the narrative did), the story proceeds from the assumption that though everyone relocated to the new world does know the big lie, they're fine with the government killing anyone following them who questions the nature of the lie? That's cynical beyond all belief, with as little explanation as was given.
>oh, well, there was a war, so...
So go ahead and kill my child, I don't mind, because I've got me this cushy life?
This author doesn't understand human nature. At least not nearly enough to be able to comment on it, leading to philosophical contradictions as I pointed out. How old is he, anyway?
>Are you people so unable to actually interpret the things a show shows you?
And here we're back to the central problem. I'm right wing myself, and might even agree with some of the underlying messaging, perhaps even that which may be particular to a Japanese audience (our peace relies on the convenient lies we tell each other). But that doesn't excuse bad writing.
I have to assume it was simple laziness on the part of the production team in choosing conventional character designs, since they went out of their way to relay in exposition how racial harmony did come about, only not bothering to show it much. But Quitterie and Funi do exist as something different from the others.
The writing is bad, but I just can't see how they can explain a nuclear exchange between the major power where all the bombs just so happened to head towards the third world.
He was an edglord but he chilled after that.
but what if you fucked your gender swapped clone?
like zapp brannigan said, the most attractive part of a woman is the penis.
i would go for the group of people that arent retarded panglossians naively assuming that everything is always for the best, taking every single indignity up the ass with a smile.
>More like a Titanic. Shit floated as well as everyone thought it would.
But everyone thought the titanic was unsinkable?
>I just can't see how they can explain a nuclear exchange between the major power where all the bombs just so happened to head towards the third world.
That's a somewhat dim world view. It's called a world war for a reason, it involves most of the world including the third world. For example there was fighting and loss of life in Africa during both ww1 and ww2. It wasn't a major theater but it wasn't spared. As soon as a major conflict break out, even poor nations have to pick a side or they get crushed by both.
Just finished, somehow without spoiling myself.
What an absolutely frustrating series for me. It had all the hallmarks of something I would like, but it never hooked me.
The characters were mediocre. The story was uninspiring, contrived as hell, and downright uninteresting at times. The twists were serviceable at best. Nice character designs that kept on model, though.
Considering my general shit taste, I almost feel bad for not liking it more, since a lot of effort was clearly put into it.
I think he had a decent reason to suspect Luca. Ulfgar knew there was a traitor in the group and he worked with the limited information he had. The Eposito family was basically a crime syndicate. He personally knew someone they murdered. If we had to rewrite the story where Charce isn't the traitor then it's definitely 100% Luca who is the brainwashed suicidal failed clone.
An adaptation that managed to reach to the REAL end is a godsend. I don't give a fuck about autistic Frodoing. This is an adaptation done right and hope it sets the stage for all future productions.
Lerche needs to do more like this and Assclass.
>based on minor evidence.
Nah, you have to be a complete tool to not to believe that the high ranking politician your brother was about to put in quicksand wasn't the culprit, specially for a kid whose sibling was literally the only adult he could trust.
He never accused Luca of being the traitor. He only says that he wanted to kill Luca as revenge on Marco.
>He personally knew someone they murdered.
Knew someone that died and he THOUGHT was killed by Marco. His only evidence was that he found his birthday present in Finn's room.
Don't forget that they were still all teens at the time raging with hormones. It was dumb to jump to that conclusion, but it's not hard to understand. He basically just wanted to "get back at" Marco.
>can store a shitton of water in vessels (maybe cut from wood) and store it everywhere in the ship
This was one of the first things that should have tipped me off on how woefully bad the writing was.
He's like a 150+IQ pilot or something and can't jury-rig containers.
Did that other identical ship also have to make pit stops as it was out in deep space planetary exploration?
'World war' was just new terminology used to describe major power conflicts, of which there'd been more than a few in the past. The scope of it was somewhat wider than most previous ones for the extended colonial holdings / spheres of influence of several powers where there was significant fighting, but not so for an increased number of major participants - it wasn't as if every independent nation on the map was fighting in it; even those who did join in, most towards the tail ends of both, only did so to get in on the good side of the winning team, having contributed practically nothing to the war efforts. (check several England vs France confrontations for the same conditions of fighting in disparate areas of the globe, or wars involving Spain and its empire).
Astra's backstory reveal is that of a prototypical limited nuclear exchange, the principal targets of such being the offensive capacity of the opposing side, almost exclusively hosted in homelands of nuclearized powers. Excepting the case where one or two 3rd world countries were a flashpoint, this sort of of conflict would practically be over before anyone else could align to a side.
>I'm more worried about the seemingly infinite energy source these things apparently have on board
It runs on dark energy
You know what, I was about to sperg about how it didn't happen shit in the last episode and the plot-holes and yada yada but fuck it
THIS was a comfy series with some good moments and twist. We had fun and that's all it matters
Am I the only one that likes Quitterie's hair?
The water was clearly for FTL fuel.
But she look like an oba-san at 24.
I like Charce's laugh.
You all said Aries was an old woman in a young’un’s body, you lied to me
I don't know why you want to inform me that not every independent nation on the map are fighting in world wars. I even wrote in my post that world wars involve "most" of the world. I did that just in case someone would be pedantic about it. All I'm saying is that yes, third world countries can die in a nuclear holocaust. I'm pretty sure they are more likely to suffer this end. Major military nations will have missile defense systems to intercept ICBM but not their weaker ally, even third world countries with crucial resources. I can write you a simple scenario if it's not clear enough.
>USA vs Russia in 2050 world war 3
>Russia tells Middle East: join me, or else
>The Middle East joins Russia, starts sending all their oil
>USA does the big thinking
>Shooting missiles at Russia is pointless, they are surrounded with anti-missile defenses that intercept everything
>The Middle East is poor and has no such defense
>With barely any cost at all, the USA can starve Russia
The Middle East gets glassed. "I don't see any major countries shooting nuclear missiles at third world countries" is very optimist but misguided, that's all.
hulaing babies
Kenja no Mago
I mean it’s no masterpiece, but it was fun
Should have been translated as "mass exodus" rather than immigration that makes it sound simple as fuck.
Not just the water, the arbitrary food limit is also difficult to rationalize. Why can't they carry more food? They clearly don't lack space for storage. Is it weight? They clearly had non-essential walls, furniture and belongings. Is it just a matter of food preservation? They can dry food, smoke food, vacuum-pack food, or DIY extra refrigerators. They had a cryostasis chamber which is a prime candidate for being reconfigured as a gigantic fridge. If they're lazy they can just grab ice from a planet's polar region and stuff that in coolers. It's not about the author being stupid, the writing is clever in other parts of the story, but they had to make a necessary sacrifice in story quality when it came to food and water, to force the characters to visit several worlds in a big adventure.
>It's not about the author being stupid, the writing is clever in other parts of the story, but they had to make a necessary sacrifice in story quality when it came to food and water, to force the characters to visit several worlds in a big adventure.
This. They could've gone hard sci-fi a la Planetes with this, but unless the mangaka really has the chops, shoehorning minute details like this would just kill the overall flow of the story.
Now that I think of it, they could have stuffed Kanata in their sleeping pod for the rest of the trip. It's not very heroic for sure but it's logical, he was badly hurt and they lacked the medical supplies to treat him. If they lacked anesthetics then they probably lacked antibiotics too and it would have been critical if Kanata got an infection. I guess they would have frozen him ASAP if he started getting worse.
I feel exactly the same way you do user about this show. Comfy series, but good lord of you think about the plot you can find a lot of holes. Despite all that though i enjoyed the show, its characters and mostly of all Yunhua as best girl of the show
>all the bombs just so happened to head towards the third world.
Where else would you drop bombs but on top of where your biggest problems are from?
Engagement is practically marriage.
>I don't know why you want to inform me that not every independent nation on the map are fighting in world wars. I even wrote in my post that world wars involve "most" of the world.
That's the thing. "Most" stayed out of it, for all intents and purposes, where they could. Those big lists of participants you might find on wikipedia represent a pile on, many declarations of war being late conflict, or if they could capitalize on a vulnerability with little consequence to themselves.
>I can write you a simple scenario if it's not clear enough.
Sure, people can, but rarely do their scenarios correspond to what actual wargamming considers probable. Your scenario, for one, assumes the ME succumbing to simple nuclear extortion, when how that should play out is already what forms the existing alliance systems, participants of which (and neutrals) conduct their foreign policies by the existential extortions represented by existing inventories. Note how few allies or clients to one side or the other, though there were many, volunteered their lands as hosts to strategic assets. As such, ultimately it comes down to willingness of major participants to represent their interests in at issue countries by striking each other, not the countries at issue.
>All I'm saying is that yes, third world countries can die in a nuclear holocaust. I'm pretty sure they are more likely to suffer this end.
It's a popular conception of that this is so, and certainly there'd be much suffering in any exchange, but only if they're downwind of where the nukes would be heading. On the whole, they won't be targets themselves. As you say about countries with crucial resources to exploit, any major power contesting them would like for them to still be intact for after the contest is over.
>they are more likely to suffer this end... missile defense systems...
The point of the arms race at that point then becomes how to implement strikes through defenses, not turning the weapons aside.
>dark energy
Dark energy is literally a mathematical kludge to keep astronomer's cosmological models from falling the fuck apart, because little of what we've found recently through observation makes sense by them otherwise. I hate when sci-fi authors start using it to fuel their ships.
When you think about it, your new planet doesn't have a Moon. Or any of the other planets in your historical record. Flying about space in a completely different manner than it used to. Which means you pretty much have to wipe away much of human record, since these things and all that they touch are everywhere in them. Whole swaths of history, art, literature, astronomy, myth, systems of measuremens, the development of the scientific method, anything delineated by time. Theories of the menstrual cycle. John Lithgow's acting history because he appeared in 3rd Rock from the Sun. All of it.
>no, it's be fine, trust me
>no need to go that far, dude
>nobody will notice
>and we'll just kill anyone who does
Did Ulgar and Luca ever fuck? I liked their chemistry.
Ulgar won so hard holy shit he got both the trap AND the loli.
>On the whole, they won't be targets themselves.
They certainly can. Powerful nations have weak allies, often pressured in situations where they would rather not be, and these weak allies can get devastated in war by enemy countries who wish to weaken the larger nation. It has happened in the past, it is happening today and it will happen in the future. It is such a fundamental principle that it was written in the Art of War by Sun Tzu 2500 years ago nearly word for word: "do not attack the enemy directly, do not attack a large nation, it is preferable to attack its weaker neighboring ally first". This book contains the most painfully obvious military truism.
>As you say about countries with crucial resources to exploit, any major power contesting them would like for them to still be intact
"Would like". The USA is not close enough to the Middle East to easily walk over it and appropriate its resources. Russia is close geographically. I picked these examples because you should have been able to notice the obvious geographical circumstances between each countries. I did not think I would actually have to explain them. The USA cannot take the ME on the ground easily, but it can bomb it easily to weaken Russia. Therefore it is the logical thing to do. At this point I consider you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. We probably agree on a lot of things, but you are stuck on defending a random comment made hastily and taking it personally.
I wonder if after teaching everyone about true history she'll start trying to teach people about religion.
While you're blinded by space immigration, clones, and FLT.
You all are missing the important thing.
Aliens exist in kanata no astra universe, and they ate them.
Japanese are chinese but with lower birth rate.
Good job missing my other reply, no wonder you think the story is nonsensical when your attention span is so short.

I don't have a problem with the logic of the history wipe. Like, I can see the difficulties in it, but I'm pretty willing to suspend my disbelief and they went fairly light on the implications. It's clear that the job wasn't actually perfect in this context, they mention dissension and it's mentioned after the cast returns to Astra that there were already people who were pushing that line of thought. I can choose to believe that the government just controlled all mass media for awhile and didn't even bother doing much to silence people, just counting on the information load to do the work for them.
WHAT I DON'T GET IS WHAT IT CONTRIBUTED TO THE STORY. WASN'T THE CLONES STUFF GOOD ENOUGH?
Actually I thought it depicted fermi's paradox quite well.
IMO, he just picked it up after having sex with her.
>walk over
Come on, guy, this is the modern world we both inhabit, made smaller by the industrial revolution, smaller still by the information revolution. Countries are close to each other or far away on the basis of their shared interests, a sum of their ideas, their culture. The obstacles of geography no longer mean much of anything, large scale. There's a reason for that.
>At this point I consider you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. We probably agree on a lot of things, but you are stuck on defending a random comment made hastily and taking it personally.
I was reading tomes on nuclear strategy back when exchanges were thought a distinct possibility, and not because it was the thing every early teenage kid did. I wanted to know how this thing that might end me actually functioned, and how it was being managed. It's not a matter of taking it personally, it's a matter of seeing it (and the closely related subject of geopolitics) so grossly misunderstood.
For example, to say its logical that the US (any country) would consider a random small country at issue, one being threatened by another power, a legitimate nuclear target would be to not get how conducting such a strike would immediately forfeit the attacking country's moral standing in the world for all time such as to undermine the power structure's right to rule. Any ally would immediately tear up their treaty, being that any of them (or their partners) could be so dealt with as response to moves by the initial threatening power. All trade partners would do everything they could to end their relationships.
(cont on this, because nobody else responded to my other posts in defense of this hot garbage ending)
This is a terror state you've described, with no compunction about bombing randos on the basis of (short-sighted) self-interest alone, and no consideration for their place in the community of nations. The other major party in the showdown need not do another thing but wait for his opponent to collapse from within, having baited his opponent to insane overreaction with a mere feint. Sun Tzu would stand amazed at such a complete realization of another of his dictums.
You see, MAD actually works, because its mad. It develops all problems of conflict in theory to its maximum levels, thereby avoiding strong moves (like spontaneously putting the Middle East under the gun) and sudden major escalations, because no one wants to face the consequences of doing so. So as how Sun Tzu's advice as you describe is still followed with regard to weak states, it's not on the stage of nuclear brinkmanship (except in theory, as to how they relate to, support or play off of the wider alliance systems run by the major powers), or even threats by major conventional forces, but through other means, primarily economics.
So the concerning issue of nuclear weapons is not who now possess them, or Kanata no Astra's author's (unsophisticated) view of how they may be used willy-nilly to crudely set up his story's big twist (to go along with his unsophisticated view of how its even possible that technological advances can be rolled back; major scientific breakthroughs, no less than a thing as simple to fabricate in well-equipped garages as guns): it's who may get a hold of ONE in the future, someone not tied to conventional modes of thought of running a nation state (or any lingering institution, for that matter, if your worry was that even some semi-competent Muslim religious leader could secure one and not have a concern over Mecca and Medina being turned to molten lava depending on what he did with it).
(cont again; bored)
>"anti-climax" the anime
also episode 1 is the peak of this show
I enjoyed it, i'm not going to get autistic about a fucking sci-fi plot, ESPECIALLY an ANIME plot.
I just wished all the big truth bombs didn't all get cramped into the last episode, even thought it was 50 min long, still felt cramped in there.
The whole lying about the world thing didn't really reach to me that well, but eh, after all the nukes and 75% of the population dieing, sure maybe people would keep up with a lie like that, then again, sci-fi, and anime. it doesn't need to be foolproof.
Meanwhile, the ME is not one chip on the board to be threatened wholesale, its an assortment of regional powers whose relationships are to be navigated, as are most areas of the globe put in competition along lines of division of their own unique characters. These competitions form the basis of major power competitions for spheres of influence. That's how the game is played, with no endgame in sight.
Have you noticed how no power since WWII has attempted to bully their way to even close to world hegemony, not even the United States, which (when governed with wisdom) leaves many parts of the world well enough alone, seeking only a managing influence with bases from which to power project? There's a reason for that too. And its nukes.
There's no reason to assume Astra is that system's third planet just because it can support human life.
Ulfgar was assassinated by the Luca's original, kinda makes you question the lengths this shows goes to say that there are no baddies in the OWG except for this one group who made clones.
It's not as if most sci-fi literature don't suffer from pacing and lore issues. This at least has the fortunate case of being short and not being so far up in its own universe.
Yunhua looks like she's about to orgasm every time she thinks about singing Jesus Christ

They said about fuel scooping in the start of their journey. Besides Astra's creator is not a die-hard sci-fi author.
No, luca's original was the artist. Marco esposito didn't have a clone, if i'm not mistaken.
Ulgar was the most ikemen all along. No wonder he ended up with a harem.
Singing is to her what anime and manga are to us
