They can coat their bodies or their attacks in Haki, but they can't get a significant boost in power from condensing air or significantly boosting their energy output and metabolsim like Luffy can.

When Big Mom and Kaidou were introduced (12!? years ago), i thought they wouldn't really have a big participation on the story. Now they are two well developed antagonists in possibly the biggest arc.

Crocodile has been out on the run for 2 years, and he has started up a new organization in the New World. With the WG knowing that a) Crocodile was interested in Pluton, b) Crocodile's incident in Alabasta caused an international crisis, and c) the WG themselves stated that Crocodile's crimes of trying to take over Alabsta would at the very least double his existing bounty.

At the very least, his bounty should be 162 million, but it is undoubtedly higher.

Bounties give us a rough estimate of how much of a threat a character is though. The higher the bounty is, the more dangerous to the World Government they are. And usually that danger stems from being extremely powerful. Not that strength = bounty, but we get a rough idea that people with higher bounties typically are stronger or more dangerous.

We don't know how secretive Wano is to the rest of the world, considering how closed off it is. The people of Wano assume Kaido and his crew are all just a bunch of guardians or soldiers to protect them. The one who actively deals with outsiders (CP0) is Orochi, the shogun. These transgressions are so secret and confidential that Drake, who was present as a Flying Six and a member of SWORD, had no idea about CP0's role in Wano. The WG had no idea that Kaido got Doffy to sell him artificial devil fruits he made until the Dressrosa incident.

The fact that this country is both unaffiliated with the WG and closed off due to the extreme difficulty in getting there and leaving makes Wano a hard place for the WG to investigate.

Kaido deliberately left his message of teaming up or trying to kill Big Mom on an open line as a way of forcing the World Government to react to it.

The Marines are retards for splitting their forces and going after Sichibukai, who do not directly threaten them. While two Yonkou have made the first Yonkou alliance ever, Blackbeard is grabbing every bit of power he can get his hands on and Luffy is gaining allies all over the world and getting proclaimed the fifth Yonkou.

All they are going to accomplish is forcing former Shichibukai to join Yonkou crews, making the Yonkou even more dangerous. Sakazuki can't into politics.

The whole Shichibukai demolition thing happened because of the incidents of Alabasta and Dressrosa, incidents that the Strawhats not only were actively participating in, but they were also the ones who ultimately saved the day there.
As for the Yonko alliance that has the potential to destroy the entire world, that also happened because of the Strawhats getting directly targeted by two Yonko crews.
So in the end, everything happening in the world is connected to Luffy and his crew one way or another, even if the connection isn't quite obvious, it is still there, and the incidents that the Strawhats were absolutely not a part of, will end up being setup for our protagonists to step-in later on.

Bege married into the Big Mom empire and went on odd jobs everywhere while slowly planning the assassination of his benefactor. Drake became a well respected member of the Beast Pirate elite. Coby rose through the Marine ranks to become a Rear Admiral and even fought Law. Blackbeard consolidated his power as a Yonkou and went hunting for Devil Fruits for his crew.

The fact that the Strawhats are in no way centre to each story and are often just a part passing through briefly is what makes One Piece so endearing and what makes people praise Oda's worldbuilding as one of the best in the mangaka industry.
