Because it's the best written arc of Z.

Because epic loud rock music nonstop so you can't hear what they're talking about.

>No consistant villians
>Vegeta/Bulma makes no sense
>Plot rip off of Terminator
>Krillin is an idiot
>Vegeta is an idiot
>16 triggering SS2 makes no sense
>Time travel makes no sense
>Trunks is a gary stu

>Trunks is a gary stu
I don't see it, he often makes mistakes and things don't go his way.

DBS shilled him waaaay more, what's with pseudo Blue and Genki Sword

This. Trunks fucked up pretty much every chance he got and lost almost every fight and was even killed by Cell.

>Vegeta is an idiot
This is common in Dragon Ball

Arc would have been bad had cell not been in it, because he's perfect in his own way.

It's the only arc of Z (besides Saiyan) that properly utilizes the huge supporting cast. And giving Gohan the organic main event push feels much more rewarding than trotting out ol' Goku for the nostalgia pop.

Why do Americans pretend to be European/British? Do they really think it'll make them sound cultured?

american children were retarded and self inserted as gohan

bullshit. goku had minimal space in the freeza saga. he also only started doing anything in the buu saga after literally who's like goten and kid trunks had their time to shine, as well as gohan and the dumb kaioshin

the only difference in terms of supporting cast in the cell saga is tien holding back cell and piccolo being on par with the saiyans again, for literally the duration of one fight. in terms of actual time dedicated to them, both the buu saga and the freeza saga have more of the secondary cast doing things, they just don't kill the main enemy

>when it's the worst written arc
Stopped reading right there
>of
picked up reading again here
>Z?
finished reading OP in it's entirety here.

btw which Bulma is best?

>No consistent villains
Not a criticism
>Vegeta/Bulma makes no sense
Complaining about one of the best decisions in the series. lol
>Plot rip off of Terminator
Not a criticism
>Krillin is an idiot
He made a mistake.
>Vegeta is an idiot
Vegeta is an idiot. That's part of his character.
16 triggering SS2 makes no sense
If you're retarded maybe.
>Time travel makes no sense
If you're retarded maybe.
>Trunks is a gary stu
A character being kind, likeable, proacticd with a good design and an interesting backstory is not "a gary stu." Very few people hate Trunks because there's not much reason to hate him. That's not inherently wrong for a story. Also there's a lot of depth to Trunks

>freeza
>I'm evil because reasons!
>buu
>I'm evil because reasons!
>cell
>The tragedy of my life is that I was created specifically to destroy. Instead of fighting it I will embrace it with style and class.

maybe because the villain was actually a man

Its the most interesting arc of Z specifically because its built upon the mistakes of the entire cast collectively, and solved by their joint effort to defeat Cell.

>I'm evil because reasons!
really, faggot?

>16 triggering SS2 makes no sense
DBfaga are literally retarded. Gohan didn’t turned into SS2 because 16 died, but because of his monologue, realizing he have to stop being a pussy a fight even if he doesn’t like it so there can be peace, that’s why his personality changed in that fight

>not an argument

I'm not arguing, I'm calling you a faggot.

Saiyans are known to risk the fate of the galaxy to satisfy their desire for a competitive challenge.

Goku also constantly does this.

I accept your defeat, don't reply.

>Being this gay
Yikes

I accepted your defeat, don't reply.

Not only are you gay, you're a lady? Sorry I meant dyikes!

I like that it returns the stakes and consequences to earth to such a degree that the arc begins with the threat of an apocalyptic future. Also it thematically wraps up Son Goku's legacy and even addresses forgotten plot points from Dragonball, all while providing a narrative father/son focus contrasted by Vegeta/Trunks. Also just a fascinating arc in what it does with Son Goku, it's stereotypical for Toriyama to put him out of commission then bring him back as the last minute hero, but here he loses his first fight, does literally nothing the entire arc, then makes his heroic return just to forfeit the fight. Really cool deconstruction and self-awareness for the series.

But yeah plot holes abound, characters act in ways contrived by the story and not because of their motives, and the art is a huge downgrade from Freeza saga.

Kuririn being an idiot is completely in character, Vegeta making the same mistake twice in one arc is a bit of a stretch but redeemed when Cell does the exact same thing by encouraging Gohan instead of taking him out while he has the chance

You already conceded and I accepted, don't reply.

not worse than Buu

What? You have two gay faggot dads? Wowza.

Guess I have to bury this shit.

When will people admit this arc was trash? This was by far the most directionless nonsensical mess in DB?
Set up a serious plot about two cyborgs made on Earth that kill all of the Dragon Team and destroy humanity only to have them do nothing because of plot and then randomly throw in a new villain with no hype and loses his flavor just as soon as he's introduced.

Major Problems:
•Goku and Gohan do nothing the entire arc.
•Everyone is completely useless in battle and complicated nothing.
•Pointless Transformations that achieved nothing. Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, and Goku.
•No good fights outside Goku&Cell and Piccolo&17.
•17 & 18 do nothing
•Plot holes destroy everything about cell.
•Vegetas character regresses 100% by completely repeating the same mistakes
•Gohan is somehow the hero even though he did nothing and was gone the entire story.
•History of Trunks get made because nobody believes in 17&18. Damage control.
•Cell wastes his time creating and setting up a ring only to destroy it and make everything generic desert fight.
•Cell has no personality after transforming.
•DragonTeam are 100 jobbers that sit in the crowd and watch everything but waste time training and calling themselves warriors. Pathetic.
•Gohan regresses as a character too. Was willing to fight Freeza and Gero but pussies out on Cell.

It's the opposite. The writing is so good people forget there isn't even a proper final fight, since the whole thing with Gohan getting angry and Cell cowering in fear is so cool.

>watching DBZ for the writing

>•DragonTeam are 100 jobbers that sit in the crowd and watch everything but waste time training and calling themselves warriors. Pathetic.
But that's every previous arc too. The role of 90% of the good guy fighters in the Saiyan and Freeza arcs was literally to stall for time so Goku could come and save their asses.

>No consistant villians
Bad guy is Goku Black. Who is Goku Black? [Immediately shifts to a new character that is butthurt about mortals]
>Vegeta/Bulma makes no sense
It never did. I'm not going to defend it.
>Plot rip off of Terminator
That isn't a bad thing. At least, it wasn't a rip off of Superman except not making sense (honestly no amount of retconning truly fixed this). The Zamasu arc was a rip off of this arc.
>Krillin is an idiot
>Vegeta is an idiot
Honestly, Vegeta has always been an idiot but the muh saiyan pride bullshit started here.
>16 triggering SS2 makes no sense
He watched someone die in front of him exclusively because he is too scared to fight. He already knows this but he was still hoping that someone else to save the day. Someone threw his life away to give him a pep talk made him realize how desperate things are.
>Time travel makes no sense
Brainlet.
>Trunks is a gary stu
No.
The Cell arc has always been used by DBS apologist yet all DBS arc are inferior to it.

Except Trunks

>freezer
>i want to conquer the galaxy
>buu
>i’m evil incarnate because i was suspossed to be the final boss
>cell
>lmao fight

Trunks and Gotham wank. The whole time travel gimmick made things interesting, but a deeper look at it, it's plain bad writing

I just hate it less than buu arc.

Because it's a "serious" plot, and 90% of fans in America treat Dragonball as an EPIC SERIOUS ROCKOUT SHOW BRO. It's why they cut the beginning of GT, the only interesting bit in it, to immediately cut to the nonsensical and pointless ACSHUN.

It's funny because the Cell arc was Toriyama being pressured 3 fucking times in the same arc to change the villain.
>19 AND 20 ARE LAME, NOBODY LIKES THEM, CHANGE IT!
>17 AND 18 ARE TOO BRATTY, NOBODY LIKES THEM, CHANGE IT!
>CELL IS WEIRD, NOBODY LIKES HIM, CHANGE IT!
and then we got "perfect" cell - a completely pointless fucking character whose regeneration abilities make no goddamn sense even when he blows his own fucking self up (yet somehow gets beat by a Kamehameha of all things). Which would have been fine, but they tried to take it all so SRS that none of it felt decent.

TFS wanking over it so hard made it that much worse.

Piccolo is the only consistently good character throughout the series

that shit was hot when we were kids

>goku had minimal space in the freeza saga

>Beats Recoome
>Beats Jeice and Burter
>Beats Capt Ginyu
>Beats Frieza
He was sidelined in the first half but he still got like half the screentime and most of the good fights.

Piccolo is done once he fight Android 17, which sadly is further than most side characters made it.

>•Goku and Gohan
Fanboyism
>•Everyone is completely useless
Nonsense, they helped defeating Android 19 and 20 and it owuld have made no sense to have Yamcha fight Cell, that would be time wasting and an unnecessary slaughter
>•Pointless Transformations
Those transformation were succesful against the enemies (or versions of it) they were up against.
>•No good fights
Vegeta vs 18, Vegeta vs Semi Perfect Cell
>•17 & 18 do nothing
Vegeta vs 18, Piccolo vs 17, killing Gero, killing civilians
>•Plot holes
none detected
>•Vegetas character regresses
Saiyan nature has been a cause many mistakes, has been explained and goes for every Saiyan even today.
>•Gohan is somehow the hero
The build up of Gohans supposed greatness was foreshadowed since the Saiyan saga.
He only had to overcome his pacifism, which he did. One could say that DBZ was his story even though he wasn't the main protagonist.
>•History of Trunks
Source? Did they make the History of Bardock for that same reason or you just talking out of your?
>•Cell wastes his time
The ring was retarded to begin with when you're dealing with characters who can casually destroy planets, unless it was Katchin alloy ofc.
It also limited the fight and they did well by destroying it.
>•Cell has no personality
It was in his perfect form that he slowly started to learn that he wasn't the perfect being at all and the rest was him coping with that reality.
>DragonTeam are 100 jobbers
No shit, they only had to overcome SS Future Trunks, they weren't aware that they would have faced an Solar System destroyer.
>Gohan regresses as a character too
Gohan simply followed his daddy and Goku. He was worthless against Gero too. He never wanted to fight Freeza, he only did it when his emotions overpowered him.

>Piccolo is the only consistently good character throughout the series
Based and Green pilled

>Green pilled
More like green and purple pilled

Attached: greeee.jpg (480x360, 7K)

I don't know about all that, but Vegeta is undefeated against Goku.

What's all this now?

It's good if you compare it to the clownshit that came after. Freeza was the logical endpoint.

because it has cell and he's perfect

Cell lacking minions the others could shine against left them pretty fucked. His being the combo of main villains and the MC for Gohan to overcome was good, except Goku's cells were mostly useless and Tien was forgotten at Cell's peril. Everyone looking dumb didn't help. The anime filler with them assisting Gohan was nice.
