Anyone here ever heard of Alien Nine? It's pretty cool.

No
Aw dang.
Pretty good.
Masterpiece
I felt really bad for all of them in the end.
I didn't really like it. The alien designs are cool, but the people all look bad and the story felt kinda nonsensical
Oh god. I can still hear the whining and crying.
I usually have a high tolerance to annoying characters but that girl is simply insufferable.
This. 10/10
>wtf grade school kids cry when under threat, shock and trauma, reeee
always these people
It's almost like kids shouldn't be forced to cater to the depravity of adults/intergalactic warfare, because they're unprepared for it.
From my observation absolutely vast majority of people simply don't get this anime. I'm not sure why that is, since the plot is straightforward enough and the themes and allegory, while deeply profound, are all relatable and grounded.
Admittedly, it took myself couple of years and some reflection to get past the initial shock and finally have it all click.
Her friends doesn't seem to have a problem with it.
Is she the only normal girl in that show?
Yes. Kumi matured faster than the other girls due to her family situation, while Kasumi is very confident thanks to being great at anything.
It's strange, how we are so used to fantastical bravery and determination, that when someone normal shows up viewers think of them as weak and annoying. Shinji suffers from this image as well.
On topic, Alien 9 is a really great piece of media. It's also one of the relatively few works where I think the anime is absolutely equal to the manga.
The visuals and plot are easy to focus on, yes.
Her friends are a stoic lesbian and an overachieving diva.
She's not just normal, but perceptive to how fucked up this all is, when most kids don't care.
New season when? They could easily turn the 4 volumes of the story into 12 episodes of anime.
>perceptive to how fucked up this all is, when most kids don't care
yep, this is important to note
I actually think the anime vastly surpassed the great manga. The seeming incompleteness is irrelevant to me (in any case, I don't consider it incomplete). Its visuals are absolutely fantastic and there's nothing remotely like it in the entire medium. It's an eerily magical experience.
Never, and that's a good thing.
At least we got more Yuru Yuri
Both the anime and manga are among my favorites. Tomizawa' art style is unlike anything else in manga despite not looking too unconventional.
Nyaa!
I prefer the ending to the 3 volumes than Emulators. Kumi and Kasumi both being twisted into alien symbiotes and Yuri starting to befall the same fate was really chilling, and Emulators was just...weird.
