I liked the Douma fight. You don't see many boss levels villains dying of poisons and having the poisoner rub it in his face in the afterlife these days. It also had some wholesome camaraderie, Inosuke despite screaming about being the strongest didn't hesitate and gave Kanao his full support.
I also saw a certain side to Kanao that I really liked. Tanjirou is a lucky guy and deserves such a good girl like her.

I feel like KnY is missing an entire middle segment of story progression, assuming this is actually the final arc, as well as a lot of missed potential for following up on lore hints and elaborating on barely-explained stuff. I really hope this attempt on Muzan and cure for demonhood fails.
Feels like when I was reading Kanata no Astra and I thought that when they got back and naively tried to expose the Illuminati, they'd be chased off again and the story would get grim, but instead it was just "illuminati is kill and they all lived happily ever after." Except KnY feels even more unfinished and premature.

i watched it expecting it to live up to "greatest anime of the season". i made it to episode 19 expecting "one of the greatest episodes in anime", or at least one of the greatest episodes of shonen. what i got was basic shonen "i will defeat you!" bullshit with some great animation. what a let down. how the fuck can anyone compare episode 19 to the top 30 moments in shonen like one piece or hunter x hunter? hell the hunter exam is one of the weakest arcs in hxh and moments like hisoka punching gon were way more interesting than water boy using fire move combo w/ sister on spider man.

also i watched it in japanese but largely had to read the japanese subtitles to have an idea of what was going on so that may have worsened my enjoyment of it, but i wanted to learn japanese to better appreciate my favorite shows, not so i have to suffer through mediocre or "good" shows like this. so far kimetsu no yaiba has just been a really basic shonen. i actually rolled my eyes when nezuko was suddenly good and chose not to eat humans at the end of episode 1, but the show still looked promising because i thought the animation/presentation was top notch. complete disappointment.

The problem is that everyone power leveled the fuck up for this arc, if this isn't the end we're gonna either end up with Naruto level power creep or no raised stakes for the rest of the story.
