>but muh character development
K-on has character development too you know. And some elitists who love Aria hate K-on. What makes Aria different to be considered an elitist-friendly show? It's just so corny, even a lot of KyoAni shows aren't as corny as this.

bump

Aria doesn't have comedic elements, and when you are watching a non-funny show without epic plot, you are watching a show without the two major things people tend to watch anime for. Being able to enjoy an anime without any of the traditional popular traits makes you a connoiseur in anime who is able to appreciate the deeper nuances the plebs don't understad.

K-on has comedy, which makes it less sophisticated than Aria.

K-on is a complete turn your brain-off and watch kittens playing
Aria is about nigga slow down and smell the flowers. It is not trying to be intellectual or preachy, it's all about cherishing the small things

OP confirmed for being dumber than Yui. Even she understood the appeal of Aria.

>Aria doesn't have comedic elements
Hahi?

>Aria doesn't have comedic elements
It had plenty of comedic moments and those were corny as hell. At least K-on made me laugh a couple of times.

K-on is about cherising the small things too. All slice of life/iyashikei are about that. Another reason why Aria isn't so special.

I don't see anything on K-on that could resemble Aria's episodes about
>travelling to the past to see how much the world changed,
>visitting an old lady who gave you life's lessons about the joy of slow and honest life
>an episode about a cat trying to reunite the soul of her owner with her dead husband
>a tribute to Galaxy Express - one of Japan's most cherished classics
>an episode about interpretting getting lost into finding a new journey ahead
>an episode about old friends who miss being together again and imparted their underlings that they should enjoy each other while it lasts.
And so much more

K-on is an episodic comedy and nothing more underneat.

>What's so special about this show? It's an average moe show
It's older.

Just look at this

What does K-on have that could match all the life lessons in Aria?

Oh, right. Life is about cake and light music club.

Seriously, just watch Aria 1 episode at a time with a hot tea or a cold brandy. Shit is good

>And some elitists who love Aria hate K-on
wut
They have little to do with each other. Aria has environmentalism, mysticism and zen. K-On has rock, fun and school club dynamics. The coming of age stories is just a natural consequence of having multiple seasons/volumes.

K-on is a great sol but saying that Aria is nothing special and is equal to K-on is one hell of a fighting word

Skip watcher

Saying K-on season 2 is worse than Aria is another fighting word imo

they're not worth comparing at all is my point

Aria arguably the best thing ever produced.

K-on is seasonal garbage made by burn victims.

Let's see:
Aria's final season tackled the ideas of
>friends being unable to meet each other due to work
>insecurities brought by graduation
>the person you are closest with retiring out and be completely separated from you
>having a disciple whom you would impart the knowledge you gained

K-on had one episode where they showed how much they do not want to be separated after graduation and that's it. They graduated, got into college, and still together.
Azusa got new friends and reestablished the club.

OP here, disregard, I suck cocks.

I like Aria, but the references to it in Amanchu were just annoying me. Is it weird?

Amanchu was just annoying. The anime.especially so.

>elitists
That’s a myth, anime elitist just keep contradicting themselves constantly.
If someone describes himself as an elitist, know that he’s a fraud that can’t develop a taste for himself and just likes what their ‘intellectual’ circlejerk tells him.

Fuck Amanchu. It was a complete step down from Aria.
Author run out of life lessons and made a cgdct about a topic that she has no interest in.

>K-On!
>Character development
Bullshit, they're completely the same from their introduction to the end of the movie

Even action shonen like One Piece have life lessons like that. If you read/watch it you will know what I'm referring to.

No, I don't, I'm not an Aria fan ;) (all Aria fans I know are fucking queers)

YKK is better anyway

You wan't me to watch over 600 episodes?
Go fuck yourself

The cook's story and the Heaven arc made me cry as a kid though. Don't know if it would still be as impactful now that I am an adult

But the art style of One Piece is ugly as fuck. Even the girls look like shit.

I love K-ON and Aria and both have their flaws.

While both have character development, both easily fall into character cliches, like Mio being the shy girl who gets scared easily and that never changes. I don't think I should have to mention the Big Bang Theory tier overuseage of catchphrases in Aria, where it gets to the point where they become grating.

I'm going to come out and say it: I think the magic in Aria is fucking bullshit and goes against its appreciate the little things in life message because magic is large and grandiose just by the nature of being fucking magic. Season 2 sucks because it goes on way too long and just builds up into magic. 3 is a masterpiece though so I can forgive 2, but 12 episodes a pop suits Aria a lot better than 24, which worked better for K-ON.

Both made me cry like a bitch however.

Alice getting both gloves removed
Azusa's "You're not that good, but I want to hear more!", just like Yui said in the first episode
fuck

Let's not fight and appreciate the beautiful things in life, and the people we have.

If you lurked more, you'd know that pitching a series against another completely unrelated one to artificially create a conflict between the two is a very effecting technique for trolling -especially nowadays when "don't feed the troll" is a lost art.

And this why Aria is praised. The girls are cute. Nobody would give a shit about this show if the main characters were ugly middle aged men.

>if you do something people don't like, you won't be liked
Genius

>Nobody would give a shit about this show if the main characters were ugly middle aged men.
Except Grandma was among the fan favorites. She was the Gandalf of Aria

So you admit people are superficial as shit and care more about the characters looks than the actual content

More like, use your common sense, fuckface.
You made something people don't like, you won't be liked.

In case you haven't noticed:
Aria has a completely subpar animation and design compared to K-on
Yet, it is well praised by everyone.

Removing half of already few frames won't change a damn on people's love for it

If your work is good then your work is good regardless if people find your characters ugly. Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa is a great manga despite the main character being ugly as shit, and those who hate the manga just because of the character designs are superficial retards. The kind of people who watch moe anime for the cute girls alone.

And it was a good work indeed

Why is everyone who like this show a queer
serious question

It's flavour and tone are more unique, OST is on another level and so much more inspired, art style is original, it's much more touching, sincere to a fault.
I don't even know why people bother to compare K-On with ARIA. The only thing in common they have is that the maincast consists of cute girls.

Attached: arashiyama.png (202x274, 18K)

they're comparing it because they want the two fanbases to fight.
