thinly veiled rec thread
This is a thinly veiled rec thread, but sure. Texhnolyze is what you're looking for.
>now and then here and there
Absolutely garbage. The MC is a brainlet who likes getting beaten up for for no reason whatsoever.
>Texhnolyze is what you're looking for
Not post-apocalyptic, shut the fuck up.
Read Miyazakis Nausicaa manga that the film is based off of. The film ending is retarded and rushed. The real plot goes on a lot lot longer and is more interesting. Genuine post apocalyptic tale and even though its manga you have the film to help you animify it in your brain.
>Absolutely garbage
You're a bit too harsh. MC is a kid and his moral code obviously clashes with this hellhole for a bit.
>Not post-apocalyptic
Yes, it is, and you'd have to have to be an idiot to think otherwise.
>cowboy bebop
>evangelion
>ergo proxy
>shinsekai yori
>akira
>bad
I disagree!!!!
They might be good for several reasons, but not because they're post-apocalyptic.
Calling Cowboy Bebop post-apocalyptic is a bit of stretch. Yes the Earth is fucked but 99% of humanity doesn't live there anyway.
I liked the premise of the world of Nausicaa, but the movie never really explores it properly, there's barely any world building in it.
>moral code
i.e. masochist
They spend 99% of the time underground where the world looks the same as ours, and even when they go to the surface the surface world looks pretty ordinary.
They say several time that the surface world is dying for reasons, but again, that concept is never developed.
The manga does it. The anime films ending was terrible in comparison. It reminds right as the manga is really taking off. When the valley gets fucked she goes searching to find the answers to her questions and we learn about the world along the way. Much better than bug lake Jesus scene.
What are you on about, nothing is good just because it is post apocalyptic. Post apocalyptic is just a setting, it's what happens in that setting which makes something good.
Wrong.
In all those shows the post apocalyptic setting is just a backdrop that barely influences the actions of the characters. In all of them the focal point of the characters' actions is always something else and not the world itself like it should be.
It's left ambiguous in that one as to whether the main character actually time travelled to the future or to an alternate dimension.
It's a heart breaking watch either way.
"That girl is pregnant'
That scene fucks me up every time
>The MC is a brainlet who likes getting beaten up for for no reason whatsoever.
Dont even get me started on Sara Ringwalt.
So are your looking for something more like There Will Come Soft Rains?
Lurk more faggot.
Aborting the child was a sensible thing to do.
Staying behind certainly wasn't.
