Long running series have to be given a pass on bad animation. It's dumb to hold it against a series because Studio Perriot or Toei decided to spend their budget elsewhere. If we were to take that into account when ranking One Piece would have to go into shit tier just because of Toeis pacing and off model bullshit.

FMAB took zero creative risks for a series that was more about storytelling than battles. Can't put it higher than average.

Black Clover does very little if anything at all that is original. But that in and of itself doesn't have to be a minus. If it simply does all of the usual shonen battle series tropes then it simply needs to present those themes better than its predecessors ( Naruto, Bleach, YYH, DBZ). Does it accomplish this? Yes easily. It does what those series did back in their golden ages but better. Better utilization of teamwork, much more fleshed out supporting cast, better handled power ups for the main characters ( clear and significant downsides and limitations)

What three words represent the spirit of shonen jump? Friendship effort victory . Asta and the black bulls live up to these words better than the series I ranked below it. That's why I have it there.
