Nah, "mistake" should be preserved and learned, in my opinion it's better to change the chapter numbering of the previous chapters as 0.1 ~ 0.3 and add the explanation about the artist change on credit page.

Feels like a fucking asspull and retcon when Elf's light novel volume revealed the Elf Leaders all still remembered what happened thousands of years ago when Gods actually directly participated in the battle and the elves all witnessed Gods fighting each other to death with their own eyes.

And then Lizard talking about Lizard Heroes in front of Elves who actually met Lizard Priest's ancestral heroes in person.

If anybody remembers anything from the distant past when gods still roamed the world in person instead of merely observing and playing games, it would be the Elves.
