How about a reset with a better protag?
Literally doesn't count. It was a backwater "official" "league". A pity win. They really done fucked up.
slut
holy shit kasumi a cute
What's with the shit art style?
>First proper champion of a region
>Will have his name there as the first champion for years to come
>IT DOESN'T COUNT! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY FAVORITE ARC!
Was it? That stadium was pretty massive, and bankrolled by the biggest company in Alola
They went for the Yokai Watch audience and it bit them in the ass.
The Alola league is the second worst after Unova and was absolutely pathetic but let's not pretend it isn't a league
>Any random smuck could enter.
>Special snowflake tournament format different from other league
>Special snowflake battle format different from other league
Wow it's as legit as other league!
First Satoshi now Misty. Are they going to ruin everyone with this shit art style?
a champion's welcome after two decades
Poor Brock...
>bankrolled by the biggest company in Fiji
Contextualised that for you
Give it up, user; it's a canon league. Move on for your sake.
But did he win Sabrina?
That's a really cute Misty.
Should have shipped him with that Alola bitch at the end.
Series will get rebooted anyway, so they could be nice to him for once.
What's the point it's rebooted for every new championship they go to
>imagine 20+ years of shit taste in ships
ICE is gonna get rid of all you fucking people and I will be so happy.
Wasn't Kasumi canonically dating Kenji though?
>using the nip names
not even the weebiest of the weebs in Yea Forums does that you fag
>First proper champion of a region
Of course, Ash started his career as Pokemon master even before Alola started domesticating Pokemon
god i wish i was kasumi
Is this shit finally gonna end now ?
Yokai Watch had an audience?
no, now we start with the female MC
>>Any random smuck could enter.
That should make it harder to win if anything
These threads have a lot of /vp/ crossboarders, also you get used to it specially if you rewatch it subbed like God meant to.
>all the golden emblems of Hoenn's battle frontier
>first ever champion of a region
>still not a real champion
what?
Truth.
Isn't the Pokemon anime getting a new MC?
How is that related to Brocko's love life?
It's misty not kazumi you nerds.
It's both and arguably only Kazumi.
>all those waifu in Sword and Shield
>no dedicated anime for the game
Why?
go back to plebbit
not a game for a handheld console, no anime
>literally unable to handle facts
Enjoy this last reply.
That's not Serena.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning on making Ash the champion this season for years prior, with the Kalos 2nd place being a setup for this. But then GF fucked it all up with the shitshow that was gen 7 and Alola, making Ash's planned victory look like a worthless handout.
>even the panda exclusively uses their english names
Give it up man.
/vp/ generally uses the japanese names
Hikari > all
we're on Yea Forums, and it stands for M/a/y
the fuck is a Hikari?
Come on user, even I know that shit means light.
Mistyfags are Asukafags. Prove me wrong.
Dawn? she's also second worst girl after Iris
Most of it isn't subbed, though.
so, they're both best girls?
We could smell you, but thanks for giving us more clues.
I'm here just for the girls though, I just understand where the argument comes from, stop being a faggot.
One of the ironclad rules of translation is you don't change the fucking names. The only reason people make an exception for pokemon is because they're 4kids dubfags before they found Yea Forums. It's certainly not something I'd brag about.
Based Mistychads. Next season is gonna be our time!
dawn is more fuckable than any other girl
stay mad crossboarder
Söyrenafags SEETHING
Any chance the next anime has an edgy cool Ash being referenced as the Alola Champion initially steamrolling his way through Galar? I've always wanted a cooler Ash, like Alain or the Red fanart or Digimon
Misty is not an angsty, mentally ill attention whore, so no.
no, Misty, May, Serena and Mallow are
Read the manga.
>posts like a Yea Forumstard
I mean yes but I want Ash being cool in the anime. Kinda like how Team Rocket got serious in Best Wishes. Ash himself was kinda cool in XY.
But now that he's a champion I hope they acknowledge that in the new region and he's finally a pro.
Seething Reifag
We’re legitimately up in the air if he’s coming back. He probably will be but the signs are looking like a change moreso than ever in the history of the anime.
Man, I can't wait for them to announce the end of the series and reveal the airdate of the Pokémon Adventures anime in two weeks.
FUCKING NEVER
I haven't followed the Pokemon anime since I was a child, but Misty showing up to congratulate Ash for finally winning seems pretty cute. Was she actually following him around in Alola or just occasionally dropping by?
>kid call everyone he doesn't like a Yea Forumsirgin even tho he is one himself
heh
Only occasionally.
my nofap is over...
There were two episode with Ash and the Alola gang going to Kanto and meeting Misty and Brock to commemorate and anniversary of the series, culminated in Pikachu vs Misty’s MegaGyarados
Yes, its so hard to win against a magikarp.
>posts even more like a Yea Forumstard
>next season is just called “Pocket Monsters” for the first time since the OS
>all regions confirmed to make an appearance
What do they mean by this? Is Ash getting replaced? Are we having a nostalgiafag journey through all of the regions to tie up lose ends? Are we getting multiple protags? Will someone (or multiple) finally win the Ashbowl?
Let’s be absolutely honest.
Lily of the Valley (Sinnoh) is the league of the Pokémon Gods. It is the most important region from a mythological POV.
Next is Indigo Plateau as it is the HQ of the human Pokémon world.
>Ash wins all the leagues now
Imagine if they overcorrect that hard and we have Ash shift into MAXIMUM OVERCHAD
battle frontier did even have all the actual frontier gimmicks, such a dissapointment
Dawn has blue eyes.
Fuck the stupid nigger who drew this.
You stupid nigger, the games changed the names before the anime came out.
Fuck off with this shit, Pokemon is a global franchise.
That's so cool Google thinks it's dragon ball. It's either Ash kicking ass and becoming a Pokémon Master, or new protags.
I want Misty to sit on my face
>game localizations aren't translation
Hurr durr eat your hamburgers apollo
Dragon Ball Super blows.
Those weekly threads would be insane.
so in the cannon, how is ash not almost 30 years old already?
She only does that on Ash's face user, sorry
It’s just ignored, but in CANON canon, this has all taken place over a year and some change. It’s stupid and nobody talks about it including the show.
Ash has to be at least 13-14 yrs old max
Never ever did I say that.
You are still a fucking idiot. Most (big)countries in the world had their own localizations of Pokemon with different names for the Pokemon and sometimes for some of the characters.
Charizard >>> Lizardon
Squirtle >>> Zenigame
Charmender >>> Hitokage
Bulbasaur >>> Fushigidane
And so on and and so forth.
>Brock and Misty episodes were really high in the ratings in a show that struggled for ratings
>Kantoooooooooooo confirmed returning in some capacity
It’s time.
Yeah I forgot about Satoshi, Kojiro, Musashi, and all those characters were in the games
as in 1 year since he got pikachu until now?
>Tfw he had wished to Ho Oh for eternal youth until he won a league
>First episode of Pocket Monsters
>A giant statue of Ash, and his old friends visiting it
>Apparently he was still getting older despite his looks and died a few years later after winning the Alola league since Ho Oh's protection vanished
Yes. Don’t think about it.
Reboot so they don't have to deal with causing problems like the Kalos league which are such disasters that they have to rewrite their SOL series to apologize
yes despite the fact that even in universe enough time has passed to account for around eight years or something
>Reboot
It isn't a reboot.
so since his roster was utter shit, what would be his strongest roster from all of his pokemon?
Satoshi is one of the options you have for naming the MC in japanese Pokemon Red/Green
Kojiro and Musashi appear in Pokemon Yellow later but Jessie/James is a good localization and more fitting than the Japanese version anyhow seeing as they're technically outlaws not a bunch of samurai swordsmen.
This
Let the artists seethe.
Would it have been better if satoshi had won in kalos? Yes, but his victory against gladion was incredibly close and his Pokemon did their best. Victory earned fair and square.
Using the nipnames is based, kys dubcuck.
Also I don't even know what most of the English names are. The only non ironic way of consuming Japanese content is in its original language.
Except for the fact that the league wasn't meant to happen in the first place and was only crowbarred in by TPC as damage control
>Using the nipnames is based
cringe
>Being an ironic weeb on Yea Forums
Yep, cringe.
>imagine sucking dicks for almost 20 years
Archiving this thread next time Yea Forums yells at me for watching anime dubbed and says no one here ever watches anime dubbed to prove you wrong next time
Using english names doesn’t mean you watch anime dubbed, idiot.
not even a weeb as M00t will ever use the nip names of the pokémon characters
Pokemon Masters is on a handheld, give that an anime.
No they do not, and especially not for characters that aren't even in any fucking subbed episodes like "Kenji".
That's just straight contrarianism
In fact, /vp/ doesn't even use subbed names when talking about the sub, they use Bonnie instead of Eureka and Clemont instead of Citron
Even Google thinks Alola sucks. Think about it.
Shut the fuck up already.
Pokemon is more of a video game series than it is an anime. The anime is a glorified commercial so who gives a flying fuck in what language you're watching it(if you're even watching it at all anymore which if you do you're beyond a manchild at this point), everybody grew up watching their version and very few non-Japanese people(if at all) ever watched the original version.
Hell I grew up watching the German version which was licensed from the US 4kids version(most countries in the world licensed it from 4kids)
>shit art style
if anything it's just a bit more moe
Of course he wouldn't, he's way too bluepilled and canonically gay to do that
Didn't read, seethe away ironic weeb
>watching pokemon dubbed implies that you watch your other annie-mays dubbed
dilate more
>altering names is understood as bad but people were introduced to localized pokemon as underage so it gets a free pass
>BUT POKEMON ALTERS NAMES
Double-digit IQ post
Imagine the sperglord that insists “Satoshi”. What next, Buruma?
>Yea Forums actually defending dubs and Americanized names
So, this board has fallen too.
When I was watching DP Raws on the internet you were still in your daddy's ballsack.
Fuck off, you need to be 18 to post here.
By definition, all women are sluts
Who the fuck actually watches pokemon nowadays and if you do why wouldn't it be subbed? The biggest reason not to watch dub is that english voice talent is garbage and that doesn't change with Pokemon.
I'd say pokemon themselves get a pass because they're species, not character names. Ergo it's cat->inu and not Satoshi->Ash.
>doesn’t know the Pokemon etiquette
How new?
Pokemon doesn't even take place in the real world.
None of the characters look remotely Japanese. Ash's mother has red hair, Misty has orange hair, Brock is a nigger etc.
Because that's not Dawn.
remember that the franchise mascot loves kasumi
you're right, we should use the favella name.
jose
I've been watching the episodes live for years and raws even more years before that zoomie.
>>>>>>>>>>cat->inu
sss-source user?
Yeah it has newfag. There's nothing for you here, it's not the elite weeb club you built up in your head, you can leave now.
>Pokemon doesn't even take place in the real world
Which was never the point in the first place. They eat rice balls, not jelly donuts. The region is called Kanto, a japanese name of a real japanese place, not whatever shithole you've made it up to be. The protagonist's name is Satoshi, not John or Eric. There is no basis for changing names.
Is this Mr. Satan or Hercule, Yea Forums?
WTF is it with these weird names. Seriously! Let me fix those for you!
>Charizard
Glurak
>Squirtle
Schiggy
>Charmender
Glumanda
>Bulbasaur
Bisasam
There, it's fixed now. No more of this non-sense from you!
I guess she’s Platinum
Hercule Satan
>obsessed
Oh boy!
Yeah yeah yeah you're not doing anything special.
In fact you're wasting your life.
...
post Suiren
I never said I was
They are just using in-game distances. You can probably rush every game's main route in day or so
so, who won the Ashbowl?
Who gives a shit?
Rice balls are not even that big of a deal in Pokemon. Like it's one of the few specific japanese things in the whole entire series lmao.
Ash never ever looked like a Jap. He always looked like some sort of swarthy Italian or some shit.
Same for Gary. You can call him Shigeru all you want but he looks more like a "Gary" to me as in he actually looks European/Caucasian not Asian.
>tumblr
ash azul
Based.
I prefer the German version myself but the English ones ain't bad.
Misty, no space for debate
Probably Misty. Pretty sure they currently hate Serena and XY as they didn't even have her come back for her obligatory mention in SM
Though they didn't for Iris either in XY...which actually only further cements the idea that they dislike Serena as much as Iris
XY kinda exists in a bubble
But he won the orange islands championships
You could have at least posted the version with bigger tits
Pokemon harem end
How large are non-adult Misty's?
>it's fanfiction I agree with so it's okay
Dubfags are subhuman and pokemon is no exception.
Black Lagoon
Gay
Pretty much. People acting like this is his first time winning a league without gym leaders.
Orange Islands and Battle Frontier exist.
He still hasn’t won a real league.
Large enough
>Ash never ever looked like a Jap. He always looked like some sort of swarthy Italian or some shit.
>Same for Gary. You can call him Shigeru all you want but he looks more like a "Gary" to me as in he actually looks European/Caucasian not Asian.
Is this nigga being serious?
>anime says its a POKEMON LEAGUE
>autistic say it is not just because they do not like the series
Pokemon characters are European looking not Asian
Keep seething
I bet you think all anime characters look European.
No, not all of them.
However the Pokemon world is decidedly very Western looking and not really Japanese looking at all.
It's obvious as shit Pokemon was designed with a western style in mind.
You don't have much specifically Japanese shit in it like a lot of anime do that makes them feel Japanese.
It's like Dragon Ball where it's based on Journey to the West but it has sort of a western feel to it with Bulma's family obviously being based on Americans while Goku, Roshi, Krillin, Yamcha etc. are based on Asians.
Pokemon on the other hand is mostly western-based.
How old is Misty again?
I’m not sure it’s ever specified, at least as far as the anime version goes.
The EToP one is 12
If anyone other than Misty won you would have legions of screaming nostalgiafags frothing at the mouth with rage to deal with.
10
same as Ash, probably 13-15 yo
Amerifats think that about every anime so you're not special at all.
If you're truly retarded you think Satoshi isn't Asian then you're beyond help.
So western that the characters have Japanese names and the original regions are named after Japanese regions.
Mei>May
>Pokemon on the other hand is mostly western-based.
Ah yes, how could anyone think Pokemon takes place in Japan or a Japanese world. It's not like the regions are actually named and geographically based on Japanese regions or anything with Japanese looking characters, arcitecture, and culture.
I'm not a burger but keep projecting.
Ash doesn't look Asian at all. He looked Italian in the original and he looked like a beaner in the new series.
That little girl you posted is obviously not japanese either and even the old man doesn't look asian either.
Is he finally turning 11?
99% of Pokemon is western-style.
Keep coping cuck.
To think that was one of the lost episodes of Pokemon 4Kids finally showed later on
Source?
No it doesn't. Are you fucking retarded?
If you had an Octagon in a backyard, put up fliers saying 'Win this tournament and get 5,000 dollars' you think anyone important will show up? Fuck no.
You'll get a bunch of drunk idiots, people who think they get easy money and 1-3 actual amateur MMA practitioners or combat athletes, who precede to beat the shit out of the fucking losers with zero qualifications because there are none.
And then you're going to tell me that the person who won that tournament is on the same level as the actual belt holders in the major leagues?
Even if you aren't american, you still have the same mentality. Which is probably even worse.
And you obviously don't know what you are talking about, there was never anything Italian about him.
fpbp
Now here's the original version of Red from the games.
He actually looks Asian.
>there was never anything Italian about him
You clearly have never seen a Southern Italian in your life then.
You only think that because you grew up with English names and English localizations. Dragonball, for as shitty as the dub is, at least kept the Japanese names and setting.
You're too used to "Ash" "Gary" Brock" "David" and "Trevor" talking about burgers, donuts, and cookies to see the characters or world as anything other than American despite the fact Kojiro and Musashi's entire comedy schtick is Japanese crossdressing theater and tsukkomi
It is an official league, also it's the easiest one to win due to the fact that it is new.
Being the first to win the Alola League will be both a feat and a stain in someone's career.
I've never really understood why Ash had to keep losing every arc, anyway. Continuity clearly doesn't matter, the show is watched by a revolving door of little kids that eventually grow up and stop watching it. They're not going to care his competence level resets with every region, and it's not like you have to write him that way in the first place. Maybe have him win a championship, then go a season or two with near losses, then another win, etc. I don't watch the anime in the first place though so this is just me backseat driving.
Are you basing your asian/not-asian separation entirely on the eyes?
Anime characters have had large eyes forever, no matter the nationality.
>also it's the easiest one to win due to the fact that it is new.
And that it was open to the public, having no requirements like all the other Leagues EVEN THE ORANGE LEAGUE HAD THAT
Not that user, but as an Italian myself, I have to tell you that you are full of shit
>NOOOOOO ORANGE ISLAND DOESN'T COUNT IT WASN'T IN A VIDEO GAME NOOOOOOOOOO
>Arguing about ethnicity/race in the real world in relation to a different world where masochistic battle junky animals are openly used in most facets of life like slave-laborers who are only "paid" with food, while being trapped in pockets and being discriminated against by having the term "monsters" used for them and where no one cares about things such as animal protection laws, rather it's only about whether someone illegally steals them or not or publicly treats them cruelly, where some people might suddenly have a 180° and are all about "protecting the poor animals" all of a sudden
Because the head execs at The Pokemon Company think (or thought at this point, it's still uncertain) if Ash wins, it's over. His journey ends. There is no goal for him, ever.
It's the same retarded 'gotta keep my cash cow going' mentality romances have where the boy and girl can NOT get together before the series ends, because there is NOTHING in their lives after they become boyfriend and girlfriend. Despite the fact there is plenty of things that can happen afterwards
There's this guy on /vp/ obsessed with calling Satoshi a "Mexican looking fuck" because his cheek marks in Sun and Moon looks like a mustache.
Basically this guy is an idiot who thinks Japanese people can't be tanned or whatever.
>You only think that because you grew up with English names and English localizations.
No the fuck I don't. I grew up with the German localization not the English one.
Anyhow Pokemon is predominantly western-inspired.
The world, the landscapes, the characters all look European and not really Japanese.
The German localisation was based on the English one.
It's the same thing.
>Being the first to win the Alola League will be both a feat and a stain in someone's career.
How's that a stain?
It kinds of strikes me as odd, beating the current set of bad guys in a shounen usually means there's even badder dudes just around the corner. Becoming a champion just gives Ash the chance to travel about challenging other champions, it doesn't really change his goal of becoming the best trainer in the world. I guess the only awkward thing would be him losing to random nobodies on the roadside after becoming a nation wide champion.
It'd be easier to just change protagonists every series like JoJo or Yugioh at that point
You say that, but Yugi is still the favorite protagonist and he was constantly a champion.
It's almost like people don't really care that much about a protagonist being successful as long as it's not in the extremes
>Orange Island tier filler
Kek try gloating when Ash wins an actual league
The skin color too as well as Ash's personality/facial expressions compared to the original version of Red, among other things.
Modern Anime as a whole descends from Disney and other old western cartoons as a whole and usually anime character designs are like a mix of the best features from Asians and Caucasians.
Pokemon though has some of the least Asian influence I've seen in anime and it's obvious that's because Nintendo saw the huge potential Pokemon had as a concept and always planned for the franchise to become a big worldwide hit from the beginning.
>Anyhow Pokemon is predominantly western-inspired.
So western inspired it was based on a Japanese man catching bugs, a common Japanese kid hobby. World and landscapes to the point the regions are carbon copies of their Japanese equivalents and many Pokemon are based on Japanese yokai and folklore.
You have no idea what you're talking about, just stop. Please. You may be German but you're as ignorant as the average American who thinks anime characters are white.
No it's not. The pokemon's names almost always were completely different.
Brock's name was Rocco. May was Maike. Dawn was Lucia etc.
>and usually anime character designs are like a mix of the best features from Asians and Caucasians.
Oh wow, imagine living in 2019 and still repeating this retarded ass viewpoint.
What exactly about his personality and facial expression is non-Japanese?
And the skin colour thing is bullshit.
Because everyone but the most delusional retard knows that the Alola League in its current state is a joke that means less than nothing. It's a glorified locals.
Just because they changed a few names doesn't mean it wasn't based on the English localisation.
Yeah but I'm sure people would get sick of Yugi if they only had him for every season.
This.
I once got 2nd place is local Smash Tournament.
Guess I should sign up for Evo!
>So western inspired it was based on a Japanese man catching bugs, a common Japanese kid hobby.
LOL bug-catching is not a specifically japanese thing you moron.
Plenty of kids around the world do it. Holy fucking failure.
>autists still seething Ash won a league in a season that is not their favorite
Great, I hope the anime gets rebooted with a new MC so these retards can cry forever.
misty is a very cute name though, way better than kasumi so thats why I use it
It was also used in my country
Yeah Yugi won, but he also wasn' the protagonist for ~20 years. Ash should have won much earlier then be retired for a new guy to step up, which is essentially what Yugioh does
Baseado
Just because Yugi is the favorite doesn't mean people don't like Judai, Yusei, Yuma, Yuya and Yusaku.
Do people like Yusaku? Everything I hear about Vrains makes me think otherwise
>Not their favorite
Not them but I kinda get it
Last two gens he had full gameplay tier team, fully evolved mons, strong bond, decent tactics, there was a lot of development, it was clear he deserved it.
Feels like this gen is backlash to how angry people were after he lost last time because everyone thinks he was really fucked over that time despite all the development.
Suddenly roll out new season out of nowhere
Suddenly have him win that league despite none of the same build up this time around, and doesn't feel the same
His team kinda sucks this time and is mostly unevolved mons
No matter how I think about it, it just doesn't feel like anything, because of how underwhelming and unbuilt up it is this season. When it was built up majorly in certain other seasons that would have fit a little better.
League is just a few people he had been fighting all season anyway, so no big deal there either. No big dogs come out of nowhere.
No elite four
No chamion
Ends up winning because "Counter the counter, lol"
something about it feels a little underwhelming
Anime characters have Eurasian body and face structures most of the time and their facial features also made them look more like hafus rather than just full Caucasian or Asian.
It's not a retarded viewpoint idiot. It's true.
You know why Disney gave his character big eyes? Because it was an exaggeration of how big caucasian eyes look(something Anime took to retarded extremes at times)
It was but the names were already localized in the games to begin with.
>No big dogs come out of nowhere.
people HATED this though
>You know why Disney gave his character big eyes? Because it was an exaggeration of how big caucasian eyes look(something Anime took to retarded extremes at times)
Pale skin and big eyes are always idealized in Japanese culture before the Western influence came in 19th century.
I feel the same way about Dawn and May.
Hikari and Haruka are generic ass jap names.
Because he always lost to them when they did show up, not because of the concept.
>Literally
You should not be allowed to use adverbs.
VRAINS doesn't make full use of its core characters. Yusaku is the only competent member of the protagonist force, joined later by his rival Revolver/Ryoken and friend, Takeru/Soulburner. But even after those two become helpful, Yusaku is the one to resolve major conflicts.
He's a very subdued character, who concluded the bulk of his character arc around 60-70 episodes into a 120 episode anime. Sounds good, but he rarely takes a backseat to anyone who doesn't get their shit kicked in, so other people will develop and then humiliate themselves, thereby leading to Yusaku stepping in.
These are people's main points of contention with VRAINS, but I wouldn't say people particularly dislike Yusaku. It's not like he's a poorly written character, he's just a giga chad.
She looks like she fucks her Pokémon
>Because it was an exaggeration of how big caucasian eyes look
No because exaggerations often looks better than realism when it comes to animation.
It is the same reason animated characters often have overly large heads or exaggerated movements,
After the bullshit that happened in the Sinnoh league, I stopped caring about the anime but I heard how good XY was and all I got was some SAO+Naruto tier shonen with a Gary Stu MC that was defeated by a bigger one that decided to enter the league at the last moment. At that point if Ash lost to someone like this I knew the entire thing would be the icing on the shit cake so I don't really mind he won this one, a win is a win and I hope the finally change the formula.
he only had what, 2 fully evolved pokemon on his team?
Dark red hair and lighter shades of brown hair exists albeit rare among the Japanese, with the former not occuring without genetic mutation or part foreign genes.
Pale skin yes, big eyes fuck no.
Look at old scrolls and woodblock prints, they all had slanted eyes like Asians do.
Alternatively look at Kenzo Masaoka cartoons. Most of them looked like pic related.
God imagine the smell.
>Imagine winning a big game of ice hockey in Hawaii.
he's not my favorite but I like him over Yuya and Yuma
>"Ash" "Gary" Brock" "David" and "Trevor"
>Not Sacha, Régis, Pierre, Ondine, Aurore and Jacky
Tezuka literally aped the style from Disney and never claimed otherwise.
He was such a huge fan of Disney he watched Bambi over 80 times.
Before Tezuka you had guys like Kenzo Masaoka who drew cartoons with small asian eyes.
It only ever exists in mongrel asians and they have very swarthy skin not fair skin like Delia does.
Special olympics of leagues
>Tezuka literally aped the style from Disney and never claimed otherwise.
>He was such a huge fan of Disney he watched Bambi over 80 times.
How is that a response to what I said?
He aped it because it looked good. Not because he wanted to make his characters look western.
If you want a prime example that exaggeration of features simply looking better than realism just compare Patlabor 2 artstyle towards the rest of the series.
>It only ever exists in mongrel asians and they have very swarthy skin not fair skin like Delia does.
You must have not been in Japan it seems. Most Japanese people don't have black hair with blue undertones like Caucasians believe, their hair is just a really dark shade of brown as seen under the sun with reddish sheens. Dark red hair and lighter brown hair exists without mixes albeit rare, same with other East Asians, though China and Mongolia do have rare natural blondes due to their history of breeding with Russians.
Thanks 9gag!
He didn't even have a full team
You know I don't really give two shits about it being the hawaii league but what's really disappointing is the lack of a full 6v6. Like what the fuck?
Using nip pokemon names online actually descends from a single web 1.0 autist that forced it in fansubs for years.
If you are subbing the Japanese dub you should use the names they say.
Anything else is absolutely retarded.
There are screenshots of this guy's angelfire somewhere on one of my drives. It wasn't just the character names he used to change all the pokemon names to their nip ones too. Then he'd show up in forums and screech about how all English names weren't canon.
It was a sight to behold. A relic of a lost time.
This is the equivalent of being the national tennis champion of the Bahamas. And only after moving there specifically to participate in that championship. I mean sure, technically you're a national champion, but seriously?
found it
Because then we have pokemon whose only real purpose is to job or that are hyped only to lose in a single battle or even a hit, maybe now they will do the same thing that Yu-gi-oh, Beyblade, Digimon and other kids shows did years ago.
>It wasn't just the character names he used to change all the pokemon names to their nip ones too
As I said you should use the names being said. Anything else is retarded.
Just because he was also retardedly autistic on forum doesn't make him wrong.
That had better be anal.
>you should use the names being said
Fushigidane! I choose you!
Fucking retard.
>LOL bug-catching is not a specifically japanese thing you moron.
>Plenty of kids around the world do it.
So? It's something rooted in Japanese culture,
that's why it's so prevalent in countless Japanese works, not because it's something that exists "all over the world"...
>Holy fucking failure.
your argument that is a holy fucking failure...
It is just as retarded as seeing:
Nice job Satoshi.
But not as retarded as hearing Fushigidane then seeing Bulbasaur, despite it not actually being a translation.
You do know there's such a thing as dying your hair right?
Or do you really believe all those famous jap idols with red hair have natural hair?
The chances of coming across an actual natural redhead jap is extremely small.
>fair and square
DUDE MY ROWLETT WAS SLEEPING LOL
DUDE COUNTER THE COUNTER LMFAO
>Ash finally won a regional league after years of losing
>people are still upset
I guess people will never be satisfied at him will they?
That I agree with.
Subs should keep the jap names. That's the whole point of watching the jap version in the first place.
Its almost like its a very obvious and extremely shitty apology for what happened in Kalos and it was still terribly executed. Also kill yourself you fucking flip tripshit
>dubfags
Ah yes you faggots that spammed retarded twitter dub drama go kill yourself
>talking shit on bulbasaur
this is why everyone hates weebs
Sounds like fair and square to me.
he has yet to bang Misty, steam roll all the leagues and their elite four and champions, and make all his mons so fucking strong that even OU's would feel scared
Bulbasaur is a fine name in and of itself. But if I hear fushigidane I don't want to read bulbasaur.
>It's something rooted in Japanese culture
No the fuck it fucking isn't.
Bug catching is a nerdy thing kids do. Has fuck all to do with national culture.
This shit is so common even in western cartoons and shows...especially back in the day.
>You do know there's such a thing as dying your hair right?
The color dye most Japanese people opt is near blonde or very light brown since their natural hair is a very dark shade of brown, while most Japanese people who had pitch black hair is a blue hued black dye you usually see at school.
Like I said before natural Japanese redheads are rare but plausible, if you want an actual implausible example blonde hair is even rarer among Japanese (all hafus) unless it's dyed.
stay mad kid, go project in plebbit how much of a weeb you are
In fact according to wiki:
Insect collecting first became very popular in Victorian era England
en.wikipedia.org
>watching pokemon unironically as an adult
its a show for children. not like memeing LOL ANIME IS FOR KIDS. i mean its actually inteded for children. who gives a shit dude
That's not Ash or Misty so I don't believe you.
No it's entirely different. One's anime original another has been taught to every little kid in America via marketing and billions of man hours playing the games.
>but the anime came out like a month before...
It wasn't national. At least not in America. Everyone knew the names from the video and card games.
How are you this obtuse and retarded?
It is part of Japanese culture that is why Pokemon is like it is. Its origin and existence outside of Japan doesn't matter in this instance.
>it's the last episode of the Katanagatari, except it's the whole anime
>their natural hair is a very dark shade of brown
LOL most of them have pitch black hair.
Those same kids at school grow up and their color doesn't change magically.
They lightly dye their hair to not look so boring while avoiding making it look too dyed.
So you are just as annoyed by the Japanese names for Misty and Brook or Oak? Since they are in the game.
If you want the name to be like you always had it just watch the dub.
Then why are you even in this thread?
Yes especially since Oak and Misty are actual attempts at localization not just random western sounding names thrown at the characters.
>LOL most of them have pitch black hair.
Not if they stand in the sunlight where their hair is reflected with reddish hues, it's clear it's just an extremely dark shade of brown.
Actual natural black hair with blue hues facing the light is rare among the Japanese.
quora.com
How does it not then bother you to hear entirely different names for these characters being spoken?
It's not specifically Japanese you dumb nigger.
This is like calling an anime based on Japanese Heavy Metal "Japanese".
Insect collecting is as Japanese as my ass.
No one called it specifically Japanese or said it is exclusive to Japan.
It is still a part of Japanese culture and that is why Pokemon exists.
haha this is a stupid thread
one side arguing about bug collection and one side arguing about brock and misty names and the other about jap hair lmao
Yes because they bounce off of the hair paint lmao.
>No the fuck it fucking isn't.
>Bug catching is a nerdy thing kids do. Has fuck all to do with national culture.
If something is rooted in one culture, does it mean it cannot have it in another? really?
no matter if it "exists" in another culture, the Japanese love writing about Bug Catcher because it is predominant in THEIR culture
>nsect collecting first became very popular in Victorian era England
and Sushi was not invented in Japan, according to wiki:
en.wikipedia.org
but when you see/eat a sushi, what do you think? in a dish rooted in Japanese culture...
it's the same case
>there are people who still think Ash will win Misty, Serena, Lillie, or any other Pokegirl
Ash is already confirmed to be Pokesexual, that will never happen ever.
jesus christ what the fuck happened with the art style
Are you aware that Japanese schools (from kindergarten to high school) inspects everyone's natural hair color? You still haven't listened the fact that most Japanese people's natural hair color isn't blue hued black but an extremely dark brown as reflected with its undertones facing the outside and sunlight and only appears "black" under most lighting conditions.
It was a really shitty league. If it was Sinnoh or Kalos, people would have been happy.
That’s why they need to tell him that sex is like a Pokémon battle, like in that doujinshi series
Holy shit are they still kids in their universe? My friends that watched this when they were kids, have their own kids that about same the age as Ash now.
One generation have moved on but pokemon is still stuck in bring kids huh.
Well anyways, will Ash fuck Misty?
This is like saying eating food is part of japanese culture.
Do the BBC now think watching anime is OK, so long as you're a loser?
Japs are most descendants of Yayoi peoples. You are a fucking retard.
Sometimes I forget how massive the Pokémon franchise is.
>lizards using "nerd" media to spread their agenda and cringe nonsense to the masses
nothing new here
>Ashe becoming a 30 year old mexican is moe
ughhhh
>Are you aware that Japanese schools (from kindergarten to high school) inspects everyone's natural hair color?
Yes hence why the rare natural blonde is told to go dye his hair by the school.
Jap people have black hair. Just because it reflects in the sun doesn't mean it isn't black you idiot, nobody has vantablack hair that absorbs light lmao.
Fuck sake MIT is still discovering darker and darker shades of black to this day, that doesn't make japs hair suddenly "dark brown".
Eating is just a human necessity.
Specific food, however, such as rice doesn't come from japan, and it is also eaten all over the world. Yet it is considered to be a huge part of Japanese food culture.
Is Team Rocket still a thing in this shitty anime?
I have lost track of Pokemon for ages now, but I do remember Ash dream was to be a Pokemon master.
So did his dream come true by winning this tournament?
Those jelly donuts.
i want to fuck iris and sleep in her hair
And bug collecting is a worldwide thing.
I fail to notice the difference between a western kid and a japanese kid doing it.
>pokemon master = Catching them all, be the chambion of most of the leagues around the pokemon world
no, I guess not, but, it's a good start
No one liked Serena. Literal shoehorned in childhood friend.
Ash banged Misty in the first movie and had a daughter but it got cut out.
>I fail to notice the difference between a western kid and a japanese kid doing it.
That isn't the point, retard. The western kids doing it didn't create Pokemon yet the Japanese kids did.
According to Quora:
>Depending on texture, hair can appear to be black in color but if you inspect under a magnifying glass or microscope, you'll see this is not the case.
>Considering the color of hair and skin is a result of melanin, the more melanin you have, the darker the hair or skin. Black is not a naturally occurring hue, which is why you've never actually seen a person who was "black."
>Only with artificial pigments, hair dye, or what have you -will one have hair that is 100% black.
>Ask Ketchum
>getting a girl pregnant then leaving her and the child to travel the world
some random sports website reported on it
Pokemon is just that huge
Just like his own dad did. A family tradition
Wait did misty come back? Holy shit
Yes it is the point. You're talking out of your goddamn ass.
It's the reason why Pokemon is so successful worldiwide. Because the whole world can relate to it.
Nobody gives a fuck about who created Pokemon except for a few obsessed nerds like you which are in the minority in the first place.
true 90's chad
>hair can appear to be black in color but if you inspect under a magnifying glass or microscope, you'll see this is not the case.
Exactly. Humans don't have microscopes for eyes so to us it looks black which is what matters.
Like I said nobody has Vantablack hair that absorbs light.
his dad was morphed into a Mr. Mime you silly
Stop spreading lies, that girl was never intended to be Ash and Misty's child. That girl was supposed to be the representation of the kid who sang the movie ED, there was even an interview saying so.
>their daughter has pink hair because...REASONS
Go back up the thread to the beginning of the argument.
The original point was that Pokemon is not based on western stuff because the core concept is taken straight out of Japanese culture (alongside other thing).
This is not about the popularity of Pokemon or why people across the world like it.
It is about its roots in Japanese culture.
It's not japanese culture. It's a worldwide hobby.
You're a retarded weaboo burger.
That's basic Mukokuseki for you.
It is Japanese culture and other countries culture as well.
But in relation to Pokemon only Japan is relevant here.
to be fair, that girl resembles 90's Ash face
It's not their daughter, whoever came up with that is delusional.
dogasu.bulbagarden.net
>Now what about that little girl? We don't really know. If I had to guess, I would say she's an animated representation of Ihata Juri, the little girl who sings with Ms. Kobayashi in both Pocket ni Fantasy and Kaze to Issho ni. Juri was ten years old in 1998, and this girl could pass for ten, right? Some other theories floating around out there is that this is Satoshi's and Kasumi's daughter, but that idea's too insane for me to spend the time explaining why that's most certainly not the case.
user Japan is so fucked on basic genetics they have twin girls with different body types, different hair color, mirrored heterochromatic eyes and who have an older sister with a hair color different from the both of them.
Hell even LOVE LIVE which is a series 99% grounded in reality has fucked genetics
Serena or Misty, the rest don't even have a chance at this point.
That is just some dude's opinion.
>Japs are most descendants of Yayoi peoples.
So? "Sushi prototype" it spread to various locations at the time, not only with the Yayoi people to the future Japan... but only in Japan did it succeed even though it took so long
Haha imagine if you splashed her with cold water right there! Wouldn't it be great to be Misty's friend?!
The rainbow hair colors you see in anime depends on what kind of personality the character has, some school comedies have bright color palettes in a way too.
Red = dark red
Orange = natural brown
Yellow = light brown or blonde (foreigner in the latter case)
Green = dark brown
Blue = black
Purple = deep brown
Pink = chestnut brown
>that time we got baited with this scene
fuck nips man
also
>frogposter
Yeah but anyone with very good sight can see that Japanese people don't have blue but light brown undertones in their hair which means it's still darker brown at the end of the day which is why actual black hair is often depicted with blue undertones in anime even in shows with muted color palette.
>pokemon master = Catching them all
Has he caught more pokemon?
Ash is a nigger, look at his skin color.
Okay but you still gotta explain how twin sisters can have Blue/Purple and Purple/Blue eyes.
It's not culture. It's a hobby.
Next you're going to tell me driving a bicycle is culture.
I am sure the Dutch would tell you it is.
Just so they can tell the characters apart especially with a simplified artstyle. Major characters have bright non-diegetic (mostly) hair colors while minor/background characters have subdued hair color palette in the form of black/brown/dark red.
Lost
Only if you inspect them up close.
From like say 5-10 meters away you can't tell anything.
It doesn't mean anything anyhow. Their hair color is still black, undertones mean fuck all.
If it clearly looks black it is black hair.
Now maybe japs make a big deal out of this or something but to a european like me it looks black not any shade of brown. It needs to look significantly brown for me to actually consider it brown and same goes for other europeans.
No. Just because they ride their bikes around a little bit more than other countries means fuck all.
I am not sure if you know what culture is.
>mistycucks still exist after 20 years
OTP
Why can't we just accept Ash should have a harem?
A girl for each region, two if he becomes Champ
I like Serena, but Ash belongs to Misty
Nobody ever associates the Dutch with bikes.
Italy is associated with Pizza, Spaghetti, Mafia, Fashion, Heels/Shoes, Famous Italian Artists etc.
That's culture
America is associated with Burgers, Guns, BBQs, Country music, Muh freedomz, consumerist culture etc.
That's culture
Japan is NOT associated with bug collecting. Not in any capacity.
Nobody ever thinks of Japan and thinks "Bug collecting". Fucking NOBODY.
Irrelevant.
Culture is for the people and society itself, not for observers looking in.
She was a man, right?
You're wrong though. They themselves don't see it as culture.
It's just a kids hobby.
Anime is not a representative of Japanese culture.
No, she's not dating Kenji.
Yet anime is part of Japanese culture.
If true fucking based, Brock and Misty carried the show.
That doesn't mean tsunderes with huge tits are all over the place in Japan.
Obviously not, yet tsundere's are part of Japanese culture.
Genwunners will say Misty. Gentlemen of refined taste unaffected by nostalgiafaggotry will say Serena, which it is the truth.
How did ash stayed 13 years old for 22 years?
Ash is a cancer, Red is the cure.
By actually being 10.
Wouldn't say it's OK, but something some people have to learn to deal with, as not everyone can be a winner (especially if you're aiming for a championship title).
You think you want this, but you don't actually want this, just trust me on this one.
Except they're not, they're only culture to a small section of obsessive otaku.
Japanese people do not act the way manga characters do in real life.
Stupid weaboo cuck.
>Japanese culture isn't Japanese culture
Nice one bro.
That sounds incredibly boring.
>they're only culture to a small section of obsessive otaku
Who are part of Japan.
>Japanese people do not act the way manga characters do in real life.
I never said that. I didn't even insinuate it. I quite clearly said
>Obviously not
kys asukacuck
this is easily the worst thread i've seen on Yea Forums in like 10 years i hope everybody here get shot
Maybe 1 year in the pokemon world has over 10000 days and humans age much slower.
>character trope so often featured in series that is has become irregular for a series to not have a tsundere
>anime & manga are consumed by the majority of the student population in Japan and many go on to continue consuming afterwards
>small section of obsessive otaku
Shut the fuck up, you have no idea what you are talking about.
You clearly missed the day the actual episode aired.
there we go, best mom coming through
was there a big fight about people using the original japanese names cause that would've been pretty shitty
Worse, you had that and all the shitposting that is usually contained on /vp/.
Didn't Brock get a gf too? Or at least an Alolan bitch to pump and dump
>he doesn't enjoy having the board go full retard
Imagine not liking fun.
No, none of the protagonists have had notable romantic relationships.
>forgetting that you can enter the Kanto league by passing a test that requires ONE BATTLE with RENTAL POKEMON and skipping all the gym leader
>forgetting that the Japanese leagues including Kanto, Sinnoh, and Johto are ran by Mr. Goodshow
m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net
I prefer Electeic Tale Pikachu Kazumi
Shitflinging is something that only monkeys would consider fun.
people in this thread trying to unweeb pokemon, holy shit. Get the fuck out of the hobby
I'd say it's fine to use the nip names, but don't half ass it by calling the humans by their nipnames while still calling the mons by their english names
>this is from a kid show
what the fuck
if this was edited a bit better i could totally masturbate to it
Dragon ball showed Bulma's breast and Goku's penis.
it's funny how he only acts as acted in the original series when Misty is present
modern* kid show, my bad
Yeah, right
Damn, those lips
Did Brock even have an interest in Misty? I haven't seen the show since the first season first aired
>before we found Yea Forums in 1999
Will they actually remove or lessen ash's involvement in the anime?
Yokai Watch was super huge in 2013-2016,to the point the Pokemon guys got legitimately scared and started including Yokai Watch-type shit in the franchise just to answer the percieved demand. Both the Z-Move dances and the Rotomdex in the SM games are incredibly blatantly "inspired" by Yokai Watch.
Unfortunately for them, Yokai Watch's popularity plummeted so hard it made national news shortly after the SM games and SM anime came out, and the recent Yokai Watch 4 bombed so hard on the Switch they're making a PS4 port now just to try to recuperate some of their losses. The franchises is for all intents and purposes dead and buried.
>he wasn't on Yea Forums before the Yea Forums days
it was nice to see again
Man it would been been amazing to see XY Ash have that bit personality injected back into him from Misty returning. Serena would probably kill herself if witnessed though
>Yokai Watch's popularity plummeted so hard it made national news
What happend?
Typical square tsundere dynamic. Just like Ranma acts himself when Akane is present or like Raku is himself when the ugly gorilla is around, but is more polite around the cutest doormat.
I, too, frequented Yea Forums's Geocities/Tripod Guestbooks, fellow oldfag.
gotcha
>Nobody ever associates the Dutch with bikes
Literally the only place in the world actually associated with bikes is Amsterdam, you dumb fuck.
Can confirm we love our bikes
Couple things
>it was the very definition of a fad
>the third game got heavily delayed
>they introduced a new main Yokai called USApyon that kids fucking hated
>the third game tried going super international-friendly by introducing "Merican Yokai" based on American stereotypes, which kids didn't like either
>the anime went super turbo edgelord, which, big surprise, kids didn't like
Level-5 also introduced a new franchise called Snack World that was meant to be Yokai Watch's successor, and that bombed so fucking hard it died after less than a year and they brought back Inazuma Eleven instead.
>Easy sex there
>Town is associated with bikes
Pottery
Level-5's strategy has always been as follows:
>introduce new franchise
>market it extremely aggressively
>flood the market with merch and toys and anime and video games
>drop the franchise after a couple years, before kids get the time to lose interest
>introduce new franchise and start over from step 1
The problem with Yokai Watch was mostly that Snack World was such a colossal failure they had to drop it and keep Yokai Watch running as their main franchise while trying to come up with a Snack World replacement (which ended up being "just bring back Inazuma Eleven, kids liked that")
Inazuma Eleven doesn't look well either. Will Level-5 be okay?
China is associated with bikes
or rather used to be I guess
they still produce most of the bikes though, and that one is not just because they produce most of everything now
Watch them bring back Danball Senki and have that bomb too.
>Snack World
I remember this, it used to come on after pokemon for a while
Lana's still a better girl
Yeah, it had an anime series for like half a year. It got canceled when Level-5 realized the franchise was a dud.
I knew they tried and failed to push the series in the US, but I didn't know they went in that deep trying to pander to western kids like that. Like basic sense would have told you US kids have no god damn idea what a youkai is, I think even most western weebs would need that USAgi reference explained.
No wonder Orion/Ares seems so boring
>Like basic sense would have told you US kids have no god damn idea what a youkai is
That was the point of the Merican Yokai. "Americans don't know what yokai are, so let's introduce a new series of yokai based on shit they're familiar with".
Like pic related.
They renamed it "Yo-kai Watch", renamed pretty much everything, and tried really hard to market it as if "Yo-kai" are these totally all original creatures invented by Level-5 that have absolutely nothing to do with Japanese mythology.
The result was that kids just took it as a Pokemon ripoff with really unappealing designs.
20 years later and kasumi is still so cute. always my favorite pokemon girl.
fuck serena.
>I don't like fun
>the post
Basically HxH
post your finest Kasumis
>Ash getting replaced?
Female ASH inc, she'll be the best as no one ever was.
Jesus, what is this argument going on about bug catching not being a part of Japanese culture? Anyone who has spent any time in Japan should know Bug Catching is a VERY popular past time among kids in the summer and has been for ages now. It doesn't matter if other areas of the world do it too. Japan has its own relationship to it that has since become a part of their popular culture.
The entire argument was just retarded. It's like saying GI Joe is not heavily based on American culture just because other nations have armies too.
nah dude he's chasing for harem ending with those cops and nurses.
ONE CUSTARD PIE
Have what?
Nah, you just want to shitpost as usual.
I don't give a good goddamn about the series, but Misty was my waifu when I was 10 and she's still best girl.
Based.
Wait she actually appeared in the last episode? That's so cool, I-I still have kind of a crush on her. Oh God it's been 20 years.
I was younger than her back then, but now I'm much older. That's so hot__
Dis nigga is my nigga.
It seems in Brazil we used all the American names, that's so lame. We truly are American bootlickers after all.
Only Bulbasaur was called Bulbasauro here, and now we even have president Bulbasauro.
This outfit was too much for my 8 year old self.
Damn wench, grabs Pika and goes straight for the butthole.
No, these are screenshots from a 2 year old ep, and the final episode won't air for another two months..
Something about this is so nostalgic. Maybe Pokemon should go one more season in Kanto, just Ash, Brock and Misty
Okay, Mr . Tightass "Buzz Kill" Nofun, sorry for ruining your experience on this image board meant for highly intellectual individuals like yourself.
Hug her?
Easly season BDs when?
I'll hug her with my dick.
If you're sorry, then go shoot yourself in the head. If you're not, then do it in the chest.
Plenty of fun for you to have there.
As long as they go back to their old character designs. NuAsh looks so fucking awful.
tremendously omega-based taste
You can go back to your shithole where you can have all the fun you want then.
It's always nice to see her
Very high quality posts without any shitflinging, I'm sure you two would fit right in here.
Literal just throwing everyone a bone to shut them up after they absolutely ruined him winning the kalos league
Does this mean ash wont be the MC for the anime now? Good fucking riddance
Misty is still the most popular girl in the series?
>fuck serena
That's the idea m8.
Second most popular girl, third most popular character.
Please and thank you
wouldn't work for a kiddie show like pokemon, ygo maybe.
Isn't it getting a new anime? I thought that was why Bandai's rereleasing the model kits. Also Kat's cute and all but holy shit did they drag their asses on making a Layton anime of any sort.
It counts, though in the most meager possible way. If it's canon to the games it's valid.
If she got a confession scene like Serena did I'm sure she'd easily surpass her. Although who knows, maybe the majority of the poll voters are too young to have seen the earlier seasons.
His story should've ended after he finally beat gary like 15 years ago
It literally lists the ages right there. The majority were in their twenties.
And why would a character who clearly has no actual canon romantic interest in Satoshi get a confession scene?
Please, Serena's romantic interest was incredibly contrived, based on an immediately made up event rather than any kind of natural progression.
>Brock first
Japs having good taste for once???
If that's your opionion, then that's your opinion. But that doesn't change the fact that it was a canon plot point that was in no way made subtle.
Does anyone give a shit about records set during the first Olympics? Of course not, those records have been shattered by better, modern athletes. They were only records to begin with because the competition was so much weaker back then.
It's like winning the first special Olympics.
what did they mean?
It's not an opinion, it's a fact it was contrived because it wasn't a natural progression. That's literally what contrivance is. Somehow, you are too idiotic to understand that this is a hypothetical situation rather than being based on canon.
People probably cared when the people were alive.
Do you even know when the first Olympics were
I read up on the first olympics and like half the events just had a single competitor that just showed up and fagged around a bit and got the gold medal. It's actually hilarious how much of a shitshow it was.
>Ash turns 10 somewhere before the first episode of the series, so give or take a month leeway.
>There are currently 1078 episodes of the anime out right now
>If each episode took place over the span of 24 hours and were right after one another Ash would have been adventuring for almost 3 years
Ash in-show is probably about 13 by now.
Classic anime line
You are the one encouraging shitposting outside the containment board.
The details don't matter. The point is "first" doesn't actually mean as much as you think. People in the future will look back on this tournament and see someone with a magikarp placed highly, they'll see it as a joke tournament that didn't really matter.
Oh man.
I swear someone watched all the episodes a while ago and noted down all the time skips. Think the conclusion was that 10 years had actually passed.
>Next season is going to be all regions
Can't wait to watch Ash winning every single league and then beating Alan in the champions league.
No way they will be doing that, at least not with Ash and Alan is still nothing compared to Tobias.
>Ash speedruns all leagues using all his aces
Salt aside, this is probably just some concession towards all the fans disappointed with what happened with XYZ Champions arc during the 20th anniversary.
If this happens I will apologize for making fun of him and praise his name forever.
Fans are still disappointed this "league" was such a shitshow though.
That does mean he would start aging?
I seriously doubt that is the case, if anything Ash winning the league now only served to make XYfags mad for eternity but there must be a reason behind this decision which we will see next season. I'm expecting a drastic change in the formula or maybe a full reboot.
Still better than the Unova League. The anime simply looked garbage even compared to Alola’s first ever league
It's really shitty, because all the leagues are actually qualifiers for the E4 challenge+champion battle, but alola doesn't have a champion or E4.
So what is even the point?
>not only he beats all the leagues
>but also grows up while doing it
Finals was 3v3 and was a free-for all invitational.
Compared to Kalos which had both a hyped and legit rival and a 6v6 finals
And why would anyone want to see Ash battling the E4 when he struggles with winning a league? At that point the complains would change from not winning a league to not even beating a single E4.
I'm not seeing anyone being mad about this. They're just disappointed and disinterested.
Fuck the S&M artstyle is so ugly
What would Ash's all-star team be?
Let's say 10 mons so he has some rotation.
Pikachu
Charizard
Snorlax
Sceptile
Infernape
Meme frog
Staraptor/swellow?
Krookodile
Lycanroc
Heracross
>I'm not seeing anyone being mad about this
Most reactions I've seen from normalfags are just relieved that he finally won a league, while other are too old to care but at least on this website fans of the previous seasons are really mad.
>The only non ironic way of consuming Japanese content is in its original language.
If you don't speak Japanese then, no, it's not.
Is Misty back proper or it just a cameo? Ash going an adventure with her again would be nice.
the better question is, what legendaries would join him, in his hunt for revenge against Tobias?
It's a two year old screenshot m8
Pikachu, Charizard and Sceptile are must have since not only they are strong but they also have defeated a few legendaries.
Sad
If it makes you feel any better they were back for like 3 to 5 episodes I think
No, fans of the show are disappointed in how much of an excuse "league" this was and sad that they can't work up any excitement about a league victory.
Normalfags just read the sentence "Ash won the Pokemon League", said "about time", then went on with their day without even knowing what the name of the series he won in was.
2 episodes 2 years ago as a field trip to Kanto arc to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show, then another 2 episodes last year for some slight Let's Go shilling.
The first arc had some pretty nice battles in it, but the second arc was such a worthless waste I don't recall anyone giving two shits about it.
>el mexicano
don't you have DBS generals to spam Pablo?
I remember the last one making some buzz, because Brock found his soulmate.
And what fans are those exactly? Because only in this place I've seen such negativity over him winning a league, specially when it happened right after the season that attracted most normalfags to the series by going full battle shonen with a Ash going full Kirito to top it off. Anyway, I still think the only reason he finally won a league was because the anime is going to have some big changes.
>but at least on this website fans of the previous seasons are really mad
Bullshit.
Nobody in these threads were mad, they were disappointed in how lame the "league" was.
Even if he managed to catch a legendary you know he would release it eventually.
>Nobody in these threads were mad
Are you kidding? All I see is the same shitposting you see on /vp/ but taken to Yea Forums.
>And what fans are those exactly?
The fans. As in those people that at least followed the show enough to know that this was a league in name only that had zero requirements for entering. Those who at least know there's a Pokemon character named Alan.
Please link to those mad posts, then.
anally rapes Alan and Tobias
You have two threads to read.
I''ve read them. That's why I linked them.
If their minimun knowledge of the series comes from XY they are hardly fans.
Then how could you miss the moment the threads devolved into "my favorite season is better than your favorite season", especially among XYfags and SMfags?
If you didn't even register the minimum possible bit of information regarding why fans aren't happy with this win, you're not really in a position to comment on it. if all it takes to make you happy is "Ash won something that had the word league in its name", then all power to you, but that clearly wasn't enough for most fans.
Go ahead and link to those mad posts you said there were so many of.
My boy finally got a piece of the pie.
But what fans are those? According to you these fans must at least know who Alan is but that means they barely stuck around with the series for two seasons. The real fans of the series, the ones who dropped the series after Sinnoh league or in BW, are too old to care and all is left is two groups, the ones who prefer the previous season and the ones who like the new one.
Start reading from this post onwards and stop pretending to be dense.
>First Satoshi now Misty.
Why not Ash and Kasumi?
The Snack World anime was so fucking good.
Misty will keep getting cameos, while Serena is gone and forgotten.
If you literally have no clue who Alan is it means you've paid so extremely little attention even the fact that Ash lost the Kalos League and people got mad about it completely escaped you. That's not "being a fan of Pokemon", that's "being familiar with the fact that Pokemon exists". Come the hell on dude, I'm not saying those people aren't allowed to be "happy" he won, but you know perfectly well the vast majority of those people have no fucking clue what an Alola even is and wouldn't have any understanding of why people aren't pleased with this win.
Ok fuck it.
"People that watched at least three episodes of Pokemon during the last 5 years were in general not that pleased with this win".
Is that better.
I understand why fans would be underwhelmed with this league especially after XY made a lot of fake promises among its fans plus the above average animation it had but I would hardly consider fans from these last two seasons genuine fans since they came when the anime tried to become more shonen like which obviously attracts the normalfag audience, even worse if they started watching the series with SM.
doesnt she belong to professor kukui
You are confusing her with his actual wife.
oh right, oops
Knowing there's a character named Alan is not "being a fan from the last two seasons", it's having paid the absolute minimum kind of attention towards the Pokemon anime the last 3 years.
You know perfectly well what I meant, user. You can call yourself a die-hard fan all you want, but if all you know about what happened last Sunday is "Ash won", why would your thoughts even begin to move in the direction of "should I feel satisfied about this?"
Fans weren't happy about this league because fans know it was just some open-to-all tournament full of nobodies, and that the victory just feels like a halfassed apology for the Kalos League. You know that. You also know that those "die-hard fans" that read on twitter that Ash won a league and don't know what a Kalos or an Alola are have no idea what kind of league this was and why anyone would be displeased with it. Let's just stop this dumb back-and-forth nitpicking of words.
Muh boi finally did it, now give muh gurl her own anime.
it will never happen
Which pokemon did he use to win?
You know there are people who probably started watching the anime this season, right? I understand the slightly older fans are either angry or indifferent he didn't win back then but they are just as much "fans" of the series as the newer ones are.
Anyway. What I said is that I don't think this was some sort of apology for the previous league and the only reason he won this one was because the anime is likely to go some through some big changes next season if a reboot doesn't happen.
The last one? The doggo.
If they just started watching this season and have so little knowledge of what went on before they started watching they don't even know there's a character named Alan, why would they even care all that much that Ash won the league? For all they know he wins the league every series.
