Season 3 generally isnt even that bad. In contrast to Season 2 which was really bad.
It was just overhyped because people kept believing the boring and dragging plot was to save material for the final season.

By the terrible ending of xyz arc and then fusion arc where kaito replaced shun, battle beast, the bug arc that did nothing, etc. it was full steam ahead for the chaotic shitposting

Ever since the first part, there was an user that was completelly clear that he hated arc-v. He always started with something in the lines of "viewed in a vacuum" and posted guroshit. The guy was freaky. He apparently didn't like how the females were more relevant than before.
I noted he was somehow hidden but still there when sergey beat yuzu, i'm pretty sure there were some shitposting too but he was definetly there.
Then everything went to shit in the last episodes and that point i noted that he was there along with some other anons.
Don't get me wrong, even at the ends there were a lot of anons who still liked the show and did everything they could to mantain the threads alive, not to mention that they truly enjoyed the show. However, keep in mind that the shitposters and antiarcv fags are more louder and consistent that the fans itself.
The threads were indeed one of the best ones before, and it were good almost all the time. And obviously the antifags didn't like that, so try to imagine their joy (specially vieweed in a vacuum user) when all this shit happened to arcv, and now whenever vrains is doing bad, suddenly shitposting about arcv happens.

That's what makes his character enjoyable, his introduction was well done, the cast felt the impact of the real world, since up to that it was mostly contained to Duel Academy shenanigans. And everyone ended up becoming stronger after getting crushed by him.
And the guy ends up becoming a better person in the end, two of my favorite episodes of GX are where Manjoume becomes his secretary.
