Dunno. Thing aren't all licensed at the same time in the west, it's different in different countries. I suspect dragon ball Z is first anime in south america even for people who first started watching in 2015. There's also the question of target demographics and availability. Someone whoose first anime ran on cartoon network is more likely to have first gotten in at a young age than someone who started out watching fansubs of Taimanin on pornhub.
