The first 2/3 is the worst thing Araki has produced. It's mind-numbingly boring at worst and decent at best. Chock full of some of the worst JoJo fights and minor antagonists. Some fights are original and interesting ideas executed terribly, some are bad ideas executed badly and some are brought down by how terrible their users are. Still shocked I went all through that section without long breaks.
I don't like the main cast. Don't get me wrong. WR and somewhat FF are cool, but fuck Anasui and Ermes. Anasui is the biggest waste of a potentially amazing character I've read in a long time. His backstory is enjoyable and has a cool character trait that could have been used so well, but his character we see is nothing like that. And for what? The potential of a hot stand user girlfriend? It's a travesty. He could have been so cool but wasn't at all, and that hurts. Knowing he could have been one of my favorite characters and just ended up not being at all is so infuriating. Ermes is Polnareff but worse. She has a conflict with a man killing her sister and wants revenge. Except hers is boring and Polnareff's is cool. Doesn't help that Limp Bizkit sucks and she disappears for 50 chapters straight after, meaning we don't even get to see the development that should have happened happen. Waste of a JoBro.
Jolyne is alright. My main gripe is we don't see a gradual evolution in her character. It just seems to occur because she beat the hell out of some goons. Could've been better, not the worst JoJo.
Saying that, I love Pucci, 2/3 of DIO's sons, WR and the ending. Pucci is the best villain and I love his place in the story, as well as his amazing duality with WR. Donatello and Rykiel have cool stands and amazing characters. Especially Donatello. Rykiel is let down by his lackluster fight and Ungalo is let down by being comic relief and a bad character. The ending is an experience. It's a great ending and melancholy. Definitely one of the best JoJo endings, if not the best.
I read it and I agree with all the negative things he said about Part 6.

Part 6 is what Part 5 should have been. Only thing missing is kino minor characters. FF is cool as fuck but he is in only three fights, WW also became good after he leaves prison but again, only three fights. Hermes is wasted potential. We could see more of Emporio but he’s just a lowered Hayato. Anasui ended up being a comic relief which is kinda sad because his stand is way too OP. And Jotaro is missing most of the part...just like he was missing from Jolyne’s life. At least Part 5 have Mista, which is funny as fuck and have a legit cool power, and Bruno which is one of the few man I respect in all my life I disagree about Jolyne, she entered in prison while being a whinny girl but that oppresive environent forced her to become tougher so she could survive, but that doesn’t mean she’s a Jotaro with tits, she is caring with his friends even if she almost never shed a tear (FF death, WR death) and show grattitude towards people that help her (Emporio, Anasui, etc) Also is true that there is a lot of mediocre fights, but the good fights are REALLY GOOD, mostly the ones that involve pucci. Also pucci is a great villain, Kira is still my fav but my god he was so awesome. My fav Dio’ son is rikiel because he starts as a fag and then “became” cool but the he started to fag out again after he seemed in a lost situation. And his fight is awesome. A shame that his cow costume sucks ass

Currently rereading it after a few years. I'm at Yo-Yo Ma right now. It's really good, but I have to agree that they dropped the ball on a lot of things. A lot of the fights are really meh, like Dragon's Dream and Goo Goo Dolls, but there are quite a few that are amazing like Planet Waves. And some of the main characters got forgotten for half the part. I believe that the good things vastly outweigh the bad, however.
I noticed a lot of similarities with Part 3's story in my time rereading it too. And that's not just because the main characters are related. There's many fights that are suspiciously similar. Gambling (Marilyn Manson and D'arby), a sniper duel (Jumpin Jack, Manhattan Transfer, and Geb), revenge arc (Limp Bizkit and Hanged Man). I really like that aspect. I also like the fact that the fights are a lot more physical than the previous parts. In Part 3, it's all over when Jotaro gets close to the enemy; in Part 4 and 5, they focused a lot more on the stand abilities than outright punching; but in 6, everyone can fight up close now. It's a lot more brutal and interesting that just the generic >here's my special move >well here's MY special move >no but I tricked you and now you're gonna die >no but I tricked YOU *ora dora muda* Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I don't understand why people like to shit on yo yo ma, I thought it was good, yeah it was a little underwhelming but i like stands that have their own personality since there's so few of them
stone free might have the weakest ability but it's the best out of all the jojo stands because of how creative she has to get with it in comparison to all the others

This. She's the weakest Jojo, but that weakness breeds creativity. Her ability is *just* strings, but the things she does throughout the whole part is just as, if not more varied as Giorno's animal posse.
Gold Experience is only "varied" because it's written at every moment to be exactly what they need. I mean for fucks sake remember when injecting some thingy with turtle cells gave him a turtle with the same fucking stand as the other one (what about the key?)
Jolyne's string usage, while it gets pretty crazy, is actually consistently written around something that conceivable works from a basic string stand.
