i don't like this mentality that characters need to die to make a story good, seems like something a bored edgelord would believe
if anything the rarity of deaths make it more dramatic/grim when it does happen because of how it contrasts with One Piece generally colorful and up-beat setting
that's not even getting into how there are far worse things than death that do happen in one piece like child torture/rape, getting crucified, losing your soul. being turned into a toy, losing all of your loved ones and becoming a slave. just slavery in general is very commonplace in one piece
i know none of you really went all out and said that nobody died, but it is a very common criticism of one piece that i wanted to address

got into one piece 4 years ago, watched up to mid dressrosa and stopped but stayed intersted but just not follwing anything and i started reading the manga a few weeks ago from the beginning. its an absolute blast i miss it

And worst of all, Naruto receives praise from the people of Konoha, thus fulfilling what he said all the way back in part I "i want to be Hokage so people respect me". When I started reading OP there were 450 chapters out, that was also a lot, and it never occurred to me to skip arcs.
In fact, I have read every chapter pre-TS at least 3 times since then.
And even then I feel like I missed (or since forgot) a lot of the more nuanced parts of the story-telling. Skipping chapters completely ruins the series in my opinion.

It's horrible, was forced to stay because some of my old internet friends emigrated there, quit again a few weeks ago and i don't miss chatting there in the slightest.

Doesn't help that most of them "came out" as fags, one is a tranny and the other is a furry.

Not to mention the constant server timeout, lack of basic features that are locked behind pay walls and the mod team that perma bans anyone who critizes furries. a disgusting shithole that is somehow generating revenue

>upon opening it and reading some, he is introduces to one piece chapter 955
>he likes it for whatever reason but doesn't fully understand the entire scope of the series due to his limited exposure
>he wants to catch up as fast as possible and the hundreds of chapters/weeks worth of anime are too daunting for him
>he resorts to catch up via summaries and those short movies like 'episode of east blue'
>he is now waiting for the newest chapter but and is "caught up" with the story without actually reading all of the past chapters/watching all episodes
