That’s why I think the story ends exactly when it had to. If they showed how Ahiru turned a human again, the value of her sacrifice and strength would be lost, but the optimists still can believe that Fakir writes a story about her becoming a human; and the people who love the tragedy can just appreciate the dark and bittersweet conclusion.

Toei has gotten shit in the years, they should treat their iconic shows with more respect. Hopefully they have learned from SM Crystal.

Did SM Crystal flop or did they get away with that as well? Toei hasn't had to try with any of their other series in ages so I have low expectations.

In Japan? Abysmal ratings on niconico for the fist 2 seasons, BDs didn't sell so well. There were also pacing problems.
The third season is where the animation got better and the character designer changed.

Papaya is not a seiyuu, but a dancer and a choreographer.
His performance was not bad per se and I find the gap between Femio's delicate appearance and his manly voice funny at least, it's obviously a mismatch the staff planned. Still makes me wonder how he'd sound with a "normal" voice.
