IIRC the guy scanlating them was also scanlating the main series, but he dropped AgK when mangastream picked it up, and decided to drop Zero as well for some reason.

There's been an official translation going for a while now, but I don't know if anyone scanned it

I wasn't fine with her surviving because of how easy everyone was killed off but the author tiptoed around her. Kind of why I liked the anime ending better than the manga because at least it didn't hold back in killing everyone, as retarded as both can be.

I don't recall anyone ever saying they thought he'd be the end boss. A scarce few did seem to think he'd be stronger than Esdeath, though, and I think there were more who thought there'd be a confrontation between them.

I did quite like Budo though. I've got a soft spot for tough middle aged guys and rigid, by the book sorts.
I think the problem is that he was built up for about a year, then disappointed people with what he did and what his ultimate role in the story was.

Though that was a consistent problem with Akame Ga Kill - antagonists got hyped up then usually went out underwhelmngly

Like most AkG characters, she was a let down. The extremely high fatality rate combined with everyone being insane meant that nobody ever got any real character development, had their beliefs challenged, or was fully realized.
