Read the series recently and I think Fire Force is pretty bland but for me the most annoying part is how inconsequential most fights feel. It's always light skirmishes where no one gets injured that end with the villains retreating once they've accomplished their goals and the only ones that ever go down are blatant mooks who were introduced only a few chapters ago. It really feels like it loves to spin its wheels in the air.
