Alain literally had his own mini series where he went around battleing elite 4s, champions and legendaries. If you base your characters purely on if they're in the game or not and not how they're portrayed and used in the anime you're a fucking retard.

To each of their own I guess. I loved Ash and Paul and their rivalry but XY had so many more interesting and well made battles and I seeing Ash being in a clear position of being somebody with experience and knowledge was fresh and well deserved after 20 years.

Seeing a competent ash was great but XY just felt lacking in pokemon fluffiness to me, even when they tried to do it we just ended up with that shitty contest knock off with Serena And Serena can go fuck herself which was awful. I guess i just prefer cute slice of lifey stuff which i why i would say i do like SM more since its literally just filled with CGDCT.
As you said, to each their own but i can understand why some people really like XY

Not really, go to other websites (whether Japanese or Western) and they tend to talk about all seasons (including SM and XY) instead of focusing almost solely on XY. The problem with /padt/ is that in most cases, trying to discuss any season other than XY (including SM) tend to get shut down.
