How drastically have your tastes changed over time? Entry level anime are called entry level for a reason, but sometimes people stay entrylevel forever while others prefer the more unorthodox works from the get-go, skipping the entry level schlock entirely. Any dramatic changes over the years? Beyond the common >I used to like battleshounen as a teen and now I prefer [genre of your choice] of course, because that's likely gonna be applicable to most people.
I used to despise any artsy anime and dropped them like flies, which has changed dramatically over the years since they are virtually the only ones I am able to appreciate now. I did however never lose my interest in battle highschool harems. Unless of course they are ass goddamn terrible as Kenja no Mago was last season.
I started with hardlined sci-fi and ended up watching moeshit. Never saw that one coming.

Doesn't strike me as that awkward of a development to be honest. Most nerds start by watching sci-fi and then grow fond of slice of life. There's probably not a lot of normalfag chads who watch moeshit.
Ian Rogers
I got into anime for the sci-fi, which I still like, but I watch and read more shoujo than seinen these days. Also I'm far less tolerant of mediocre works unless they have cute girls or sci-fi stuff.
Juan Hill
I went from thinking everything should be edgy and cool to everything has their story to tell with their own style. I give everything a chance till proven otherwise.
Oliver Gray
Got into anime for battleshonen when I was young (duh) and for scifi/mecha Now i hardly watch anime, I mostly read manga. And I like some of the artsy ones (tkmz, homunculus, undead lovers) and a lot of lolis. And moe shit. But mostly lolis. Also liked Kaji.
Went from battle shounen, to sci-fi, to true patrician 2.5D shows like Tesagure.
Joshua Myers
Started with girls-with-guns, now I look for cute girls do cute outdoor activities and cute girls with other military equipment.

>I give everything a chance till proven otherwise. Sounds like what I did until I had seen 500 anime and then started judging most things by their promotional poster.

I thought I was high IQ at first and tried watching any DEEP anime I could find before realizing I barely understood them or I couldn't give less of a shit about whatever messages it pushed so now I mostly watch moeshit and the odd non-moeshit anime if it looks interesting enough.
Michael Rodriguez
Nope. Admittedly i dont watch anime much anymore, most of it is trash and i cant be fucked combing through it
Jack Perry
I started with k-on and I still watch k-on.

It was you who invented the prentetious meme, wasn't it?
Carter Lewis
Aside from the wings that looks more like Remilia, or even Patchy, than Flan.
Matthew Jackson
Don't watch animes anymore. Seems like a waste of time. When I do watch, I wait until the season is over to binge it or to drop it after three episodes if I don't like it. Only pick up new manga when it's over and completely translated.
About the taste, I don't care about shounen like I used to do and fight scenes don't entertain as they used to. Can't say I prefer artsy anime, but I could say I prefer a better story and well done animation.

Never really fell for the Battle Shounen meme, I watched Yu Yu Hakusho for a while but got bored around that part with the tournament in the dark. First anime I was properly into was probably Death Note, but I quickly found Evangelion and have spent most of my time since trying to find anything nearly as good. I haven't, but I've found some gems along the way. Since I've accepted that due to the emotional investment I already have in Eva it probably can't be topped, I've branches out to just watching anything that looks either interesting (cool aesthetics/styles like Code Geass, JoJo, and especially mid-90s shows like Nadesico and Utena) or funny (Excel Saga, Aho Girl, GabDro, usually at least one SOL per season).
Jeremiah Cox
I started watching as much horror and edgy shit as possible because not many cartoons were doing it that wasn't played off as a dark comedy (Elfin Lied, Blood, Hellsing, Hellgirl, Higurashi, some old OVA's, ect.) When I got older I stopped watching for several years and mostly read manga instead. Now I'll just watch whatever seems interesting in other genres I like. If there's nothing new that's interesting I'll watch older stuff instead.

>eva meme cringe

It doesn't feel like they've changed a ton. From the get-go I've been into all kinds of anime, but my go-to genre used to be monster battle/toy commercial shows before it became slice of life and anything with cute girls in them. I've always liked slice-of-life, it's just that finally watching K-ON really changed my viewing habits.
