A lot of Akamatsu's humor fell flat for me even when I was a kid reading Negima for the first time, but that might just be a Seinfeld Effect. I like Negima as a whole though. The art is a little juvenile, but very detailed in BGs and good paneling. Fights are nice too, and I like a lot of the girls even though they're pretty stereotypical.

This is only tangentially related, but the notion of Fate not experiencing something reminded me that he's never been on a single Negima or UQ Holder volume cover, which I've always found very strange given his prominence (he is on Negima's final cover, but so is everyone else).
Depends on how it works. If you float with the broom, it's probably not too uncomfortable. Gravity wouldn't press your nethers on the stick.
