But they're not even remotely similar, aside from fighting i guess. The only rival one piece ever had was naruto, and that was because the huge dichotomy between them, with One piece being more adventure based, while Naruto always had the main cast returning to leaf village, that and pirate vs ninja. When I think about it HxH doesn't really have a rival series but then again most shounens never did, Dragonball didn't neither did Bleach (i don't really count being part of the big three at one point a rivalry),....
