I don't really see much value in winning the Alola League. So far, it's been kind of a shit-show. The first couple matches have been 1vs1, then 2vs2. The majority of the characters are complete scrubs who don't even have six Pokemon. ASH doesn't fucking have six Pokemon. I genuinely believe that Ash has a legitimate chance of winning this league due to how utterly scrub it is. This is the absolute lowest-tier Pokemon League tournament by far. Not a single trainer in this entire fucking tournament is comparable to the trainers of past leagues.

So yeah, Ash might actually win this due to how little it would actually mean if he did. Becoming the Champion of the Alola League means fuck-all at this juncture.

Feels like it would make sense. Kukui just started this league, so not many people would probably need to have a full team. They don't have badges as a requirement to enter either or even finishing all the trials, so there's nothing about the region to incentive catching a wide variety of Pokemon.

This League was pretty much open for any scrub trainer to participate in. A hobo with a team of Rattata, Bidoof and Magikarp could participate.

That's my point. It's their first league, so of course they're going to lower their standards. Probably it'll be more like other regions' leagues in the future as they raise the expectations and encourage people to challenge gyms to improve their levels.
