Written, directed and produced by Westerners tend to be a large majority of 1980s/90s cartoons. Not really what would be considered anime.
There are a few movies/series directed by or written by Westerners, though, like pic related.

Western directors would have a much higher quality standard. If you look at isekai series, most of them would never have been accepted by a western publisher in the first place. Walk into a western bookstore and start browsing the fiction section, you will most likely not find a single book with a synopsis that has an OP MC getting a harem, the phrases "cheat skill", etc.

Kinda but not really. You get tons of milfic trash on shelves like anything ever written by Tom Clancy or various other masturbatory power fantasies along with light smut aimed at women.
It's just that Western trash fiction takes a different route from Japanese trash fiction. Instead of an OP isekai MC with cheat skills and a harem you get an OP armydude MC with an endless magazine who kills all the Russians/Nazis/Talibans/whatever.
Though overall Japan's crap wouldn't get past western radars and Japanese writers wouldn't really think of writing western trashy stories. Could be same if you reverse it, western trash wouldn't get past Japanese radars. So a bit of culture clash between the writers and the director could be a good thing.
