I hope this turns out good. I'm reading the manga now and loving it.

finally some good fucking samurai anime

Looking good

Hamasaki saving the genre again

reminds me of ninja scroll. glad this finally tooked so long to happen but im worried about the pacing.

Samura's best work is Wave, Listen To Me!
Anime when? Preferably with the mc voiced by kobayashi yuu.

Looks like Hamasaki is great again

What happened to the swastika?

No matter how they tries to hide it, the manji is still there

>Tsuda Kenjirou
He's everywhere these days
I like his voice though I'm not sure how good a fit he is for Manji.

It's truly hard to say which of his works are best. Blade and Wave both are good, but they are completely different

>they censored the swastika

Blade has god tier art and action, but at the end of the day, it's still a fairly standard samurai manga. Wave is the one that showed more of Samurai's writing, his sense of humour, his influence and his style. Samura is known for loving his ryona but when you consider that all that suffering shit is par the course for zankoku jittai period manga, Blade thus lack a defining identity or elements that set it apart from other works in its genre. Wave on the other hand, is just different in hiw it showcased more of Samura's personality. Blade is a good samurai manga, but Wave is a good Samura manga.

How fucking sad is it that instead of putting a disclaimer and instruct ignorant fucks about the "manji" they had to HEILHORTLER it?
Fuck this PC bullshit.

Aside from few CG shits, rest looks good. Though not comparable to the original art, which is obviously impossible to reproduce.

Why not just continue the old anime?

Because it was fucking disgusting. Do you have eyes user?

Looking forward to it. Seems like they put some effort into animating it. Pity that Berserk apparently came out ahead of whatever caused Vinland Saga, KnY and now BotI to get good looking adaptions instead of the CLANGdaption that was Berserk.

it just seems a little rushed to have a "full adaption" in only two cours

>less than a episode per volume
They would have to completely cut entire arcs or do some half-fisted original ending.

Reminder not to take this series too seriously. Treat it as a light-hearted battle shounen romp as the author intended, and it's great fun. Unfortunately the anime seems to be heading to a moody, dark and dramatic direction so it's going to be shit isn't it?

Trips of retardedness.
The manga mostly has a serious tone, with some light hearted and comfy moments in between.
Did you feel it was lighthearted when Rin's mom was raped and killed? Or when people were being used like lab rats? Or when Shira tortured/raped/dismembered just about anyone? Hyakurin's story as a whole? Et cetera.

Stop spewing bullshit.

Just cut the fucking retarded prison experiments guro fetish arc.

>Look guys I've never read it

>etarded prison experiments guro fetish arc.
Shit taste, user

Looks pretty uninspired.
I guess I'll pick it up for Tsuda.

>Hamasaki saving the genre again

Definitely got a Shigurui vibe out of it

What scans are the best to read?

The official translations were the only one I could find, though they are far from ideal because of dumb left-to-right shit.

what about the volume long rape arc?

Why do the character designs of the main characters (Manji and Rin) look like shit compared to the manga? The other characters look decent though.

I can't wait. Looks like Hamasaki is enjoying himself with this adaptation.

>it's a "potentially good anime with a sòyboy band OP" episode
Where's the remote, I'm tired of this endless rerun

Just mute dummy, visuals can carry an OP alone

It's the worst possible of flipping, too. Normally you'd at least be able to follow the panel flow somewhat, but the panels have been cut and pasted back together so as to not flip the art.
The result is so many panels that are meant to be read to right to bottom left, but the next bubble you're supposed to be reading is on the opposite side of it.

They did it that way at Samura's request, best of a bad situation I guess, but the result is really worse.

Just skip 1:30 ahead, it’s not that hard.

Why did Samura want the English lice sing company to do that? I don't understand

How are the live action movies?

'To preserve the integrity of his art, Samura requested that the publisher of the licensed English translation, Dark Horse Comics, not "flip" the manga (that is, reverse the pages as if in a mirror). At the time the English translation began its publication in individual monthly issues (1996), flipping was an almost universal practice for translated manga. Instead, Blade of the Immortal was modified for Western readers by the unusual method of cutting up the panels and rearranging them on the page in order to have the action flow from left to right. '

Oh no, I have stepped on the toe of the mod with the pink keyboard, so sorry!

My opinion stands, OPs these days are awful and deleting comments won't change that

Was the old adaption any good? I never watched it because >beetrain

I liked the live action movie.

It's bad either way, but had to be done because American publishing was still retarded back then and didn't even consider the possibility of not flipping.
That was just Samura's preference, and it happened to be possible, because he used only rectangular panels.

>Was the old adaption any good?
>beetrain
There's your answer

So this is gonna be Amazon exclusive that isn't airing on jap TV? Is that how get away from the gore censorship?
Also is Amazon gonna air this weekly or release them in batch?

Art flipping is less stupid than panel order flipping since not only the balloons but the art itself is tampered with

But both are stupid and reflect a lack of trust that the reader will just adapt

>Was the old adaption any good? I never watched it because >beetrain

Well, if the OP sequence has anything to say, it's Bee Train as fuck

I mean more stupid

apparently this isnt gonna be aired on tv and is only streaming through amazon so i hope that doesnt mean any budget issues

hey phantom was good for the first half
