I'm 11 episodes in, does the show get better? The "comedy" is unbearable and the plot seems incredibly cliche and predictable. Doesn't help that the worldbuilding is almost DBZ tier too when it comes to limiting its own setting (e.g. introducing the strongest villain right off the bat and making him seem like a complete joke). The visuals, soundtrack and animations are great though. I like the setting and world too, especially the time period. I just wish it was more serious in tone.

Yes it is. Demons are the main pillar of the world/setting of the story. Limiting all of them to have been created by a single character makes the world much smaller than it should be.

Shinazugawa just seems to have a bunch of advantages going for him, between having the special blood trait and the fact that breath of wind is a crazy aggressive style. I’m not sure how to gauge him in comparison to a marked Rengoku or Tomioka at the moment, they are/would all clearly be strong as hell.

We haven’t really seen much of Iguro in action yet, but his fighting style seems much more contingent on technique than raw power. Which is not to say this doesn’t make him an effective fighter in his own right, we just don’t really know how dangerous he can be in serious battle yet.

Wani should've invested a bit more in the choreography of this fight. Most panels are just him throwing slahses in a generic fashion.
