It's a great series. It's basically Rocky in that the fights don't always look that great, but the character moments carry it.

It starts off slow like most shounen manga, but it's great once the characters are established and Ippo has learned to box.
Then you will have over 600+ chapters of good, but sometimes really over-the-top, fights, and some nice comedy to go along with it.

next week will end in disappointment right? either this is a misleading scene or it's legit but overhyped (why else would they mention that ricardo had never been forced down to the mat?) that would lead to an outright rumble for the #1 spot (ricardo wanting sendo to be the contender but gonzales will have none of it and force a bout)

It's his 4th spar in a row and Sendo hardly looks like a victor, I'm sure he'll get his Gonzales match.
