See above. Have we read the same manga? Akagi is depressed, weary of living, can have grey morality, and lives most of his life alone. He thirsts for a fight for years and doesn't get it until much later. His death is redeemed thanks to 7 people he didn't know for long, and he never had any family.
He also lost to Washizu and during East/West.

Kurosawa is far less deep and complete than Akagi, and I'm not bringing Shin Kurosawa to criticize, there's just a lot more to talk to in regards to Akagi than Kurosawa. Kurosawa is basically babby's first FKMT social commentary.
