>Muh edgy timegod antagonist.
Absolute trash character, this manga was unironically better when it was about giant titans eating people.

Eren is underwritten, which is quite ironic

How?

this but with even less irony

As far as traps go this has to be one of the most interesting ones; usually they're moeblob but a trap that can hold a political conversation about morality and the end justifying the means is quite an interesting niche.

>antagonist

How can a real hero and a real human being be an antagonist?

Eren is a fucking awesome character.
7 years ago I would never expect him to be what he is now, but in hindsight it makes sense.

No

Somebody explain this last chapter to me. So eren basically caused everything that happened to happen? Also how is he a badguy now?

He's the fucking protagonist.
Him being evil from your perspective doesn't make him an antagonist.
Zeke and Grisha are the antagonists to Eren.

Yeah basically eren from the future (at least after he entered paths with zeke) was able to manipulate key past events to his liking. And he learned that he would be doing all that when he kissed historia’s hand, hence his transformation into a more calm and confident person.

He is considered a bad guy now because it was originally grisha who was considered a baddie for massacring children and forcing Eren to carry out his mission after his death, but since it was eren who was fucking with him from the future all along, Grisha is exonerated and Eren takes all the credit/blame for his father’s actions.

See I don’t really get this sort of reaction. This last chapter honestly blew me away. It all made sense when you look at Eren and Grisha’s personnalities. Grisha was always shown as lacking the guts to carry his duties, while Eren was always too dominant to be manipulated by any of his predecessors. This was no asspull at all.

And regarding the edginess I think the author is trying to make the point that men who are celebrated as freedom fighters and liberation heroes were never above getting their hands dirty. Edginess is when the shock factor is gratuitous. Here it’s quite justified in that some blood will be spilled if the eldians as a race survive.

>edgy

At this point hes nothing more than a walking plot device

okay but then what does that mean with respect to the recurring theme of parents forcing their burdens onto their children? does it even still apply?

no Eren mastah puppeteer, Grisha more like Cucksha lmao

the writting in season 3 is really ballsy I give them that.

This. Don't expect shitters to get it. They usually just whittle everything down to it's most base and shallow interpretation without bothering to think further on anything even when the facts are literally staring them in the face. You really can't expect any kind of critical thinking skills from most anons on Yea Forums.

>Grisha was always shown as lacking the guts to carry his duties

Stop glorifying toxic masculinity.

Also stop that moral relativity BS.
