It was smart of her to stand aside and not participate because she would have been no help.

Not really. The Licht fight lasted for about a chapter so it was relatively easy to put a lot of effort into it. The Wevil fight is the longest in the series so far I think so it's not going to get the same treatment. Most of it will probably look kinda janky but the final blow will be great.

Because very very few people will ever bring themselves to consume black clover to see 93 or 100. KnY only had 19 eps at the time, had the ufotable 'unlimited budget works' name with it and tons of positive responses by e-celebs.
Also, KnY 19 wasn't even really that much of a fight, it was mostly the artstyle of the sun breathe along with its rotational animation and the emotional aspect that make people enjoy it as much as they did.

It might be because Kimetsu and Mob maintained their art and anime quality throughout their popular scenes. Where as BC's quality is notoriously bad for 99% of the anime, so it doesn't get noticed as much since people probably stick to the manga. And really, most of this episode was kinda janky until Asta bursts out of the water. The wind and auras looked like they had 3 frames.

I re-watched the episode again and I lost cried at how kino it is from the training scene with Magna to the after credits with the sword going to the Asta's grimoire. Totally worth the 100th episode mark. I'm proud and thankful at the animators who all worked hard at this episode. Not even a second of m life was wasted this episode.

Speaking of the anime, I hope that they will adapt the Damnatio mini-arc before the 150th episode even with all the fillers they shoved in. This mini-arc only has 3 to 4 chapters at most do I could see them making 2 episodes of it. Tbh I just want to see Damnatio's Scale Magic being animated, anime Asta screaming at the nobles and the Bulls arriving to try to save their little 'horned-devils.' I do wonder what kind of voice they will give Damnatio. Hopefully something deep and sexy since he's hot.

I dropped this anime back in that first dungeon saga. I don't have any substantial single complaint about it but something seemed off-putting to me. Maybe it was pacing, I somehow feel the timing between character lines wasn't that good, and the animation seemed just good enough to not be "crap that's fun to watch" but also not stellar, and no characters really shine but Asta.
I'm interested in picking it up, does it get better? If so, how much and by which episode?

I usually prefer watching anime first and then reading the manga later. Manga is usually better for me so I read stuff I already watched to relive it but better.
I don't mind continuing from where i stopped if it gets better later. I just want to know if it keeps to the same quality or if it improves with time. Slow anime that takes it's time is my thing, seeing this thread and realizing it had 100 eps already is what lit my interest again in first place.

The anime has some of the lowest lows, but also the highest highs. It does get better though, the very important fights and scenes have good quality, but I still prefer the manga over the anime. IMO I enjoyed the anime more after reading.

Seriously if Licht is this badass without a grimoire and being half-potato imagine him at his prime and fighting back to back with Lumiere.

I hated it because of how much of it was in the first episode but I love his VA in the later episodes. Something about MADA DAAAAA just gets me excited now.

It was way shorter and limited to the cave, the anime made it ten times better imo.

Asta's VA got better with time, his screaming was very different in the first few episodes, I actually enjoy him now too.

That is true, it feels a lot more guttural now, early episodes it felt more warbly and vibrating.

Why did no one tell me Yuno was a better character in the anime? I think he's fucking awful in the manga, and he's still kinda weak in the anime, but they actually dedicate scenes to establishing his personality bouncing off of Asta (as well as other characters) in ways other than "I'M YOUR RIVAL", and give him speaking lines where normally he wouldn't have any.

I consider Yuno to be one of those "show, don't tell" characters, where you have to understand him through his expressions and such. I know what you mean though, sometimes he seems pretty bland. I hope he gets a dedicated arc in the future, but yeah, his VA in the anime puts a lot of emotion.

The anime adds more to the characters all around since the manga is so fast paced, one of the reasons this isn't awful.
1:1 adaptations isn't always a good thing.

Magna's "arc" was probably my favorite example of the anime adding to stuff. He was super shoddily handled in the manga but them giving him a proper flashback and stuff and lore with the village was really cool. Shame that people who have only read the manga have next to nothing on his character.
