Maybe today but not in 2001/2002. If you weren't an adult at the time it might be hard to understand. 9/11 made the whole world cry, you couldn't have scripted a better slow-rolling horror. Even a nuke might not have the same impact... 9/11 went on for hours with people watching it live. At the time people thought as many as 50,000 perished.
