So I watched this movie preparation for the Babylonia anime because I'm not playing that gacha shit. While the beginning was simplistic and I can obviously tell this the Tutorial, I could really see some standard story potential if this was like a regular show. Too bad it's a gacha but this was okay.
Fun fact: The events of Singularity F are most likely going to tie in directly with the epilogue of the second part of the main story in FGO. To this day, all we know about Singularity F is that it is somehow tied to some experiment that was being run by Chaldea itself at a secret facility.
Also, Flauros was present in Singularity F not as a representative of his king but as on his own initiative. He was specifically trying to win over Saber Alter for some purpose.

Iskandar a shit

FGO hasn't been "lel gacha, not serious then" for ages
Nasu pretty much writes it as just a VN after singularity five, and tells the editors to deal with it. At a certain point there are literally CG's and nodes that are nothing but story and no battles over and over. Its a good outlet for short unconnected Nasuverse stories about various characters and historical figures. Camelot and Babylon ramp things up a lot in terms of writing though.
What you watched was actually one of the worst written singularities obviously.
Parker Nguyen
Would FGO have worked as a traditional VN like Mahoyo/original FSN? Sure it wouldn't have made much money and Nasu wouldn't be a billionaire, but would it be a better thing than what we got?
Nicholas Robinson
>solos HGW I thought Cuu was supposed to be bad?
Hunter Fisher
You honestly could have skipped that and it would have made very little difference for Babylonia. Really all it did was get you introduced to Mashu and scraps of the overall plot which didn't become decently fleshed out until much later.
>At a certain point there are literally CG's and nodes that are nothing but story and no battles over and over. This is pretty common for gacha. All mobage writers seemed to figure out around the same time that structuring your story around needing to fight every 5 minutes is a terrible idea.
Cameron Smith
>Nasu pretty much writes it as just a VN after singularity five, No he doesn't because the story is still told 100% through dialogue. It's missing detail. All it is, is talking. That's not a VN. That's a shitty fucking radio drama except without the voices. I'm playing grand order right now, have been since it's launched. The story never becomes good. Camelot and Babylon have the potential to be good but it's not. It's a string of "epic" fights tied together in a flimsy ass fucking way. Stop pushing this idea that the story ever becomes good. It doesn't. It never will so long as it's restricted to a mobage.
The characters are still all one note, the main character is still a self-insert, Mash is still a brick wall. Da Vinci is still the "infodump bitch" but now Holmes is doing it too. Fuck you.
Prologue will give you a sense of the general plot. They made an episode 0 to introduce for real the two main characters (Guda doesn't count as character, but they'll try to make him one). I suggest you to watch it.
Elijah Murphy
Not him, but without the mobage need of a self insert, it'll likely be about Mashu and Roman kind of like Case Files with Grey and Waver stuff. Because they are the characters Nasu built the story around.
It could've worked as an MMO, pretty much in the exact way FFXIV does with its periodic story updates and practically nonexistent PVP, but the same as making anything a compelling game, a full-blown VN would have required far more planning than what was initially laid out beyond the structure of Solomon's story Getting a cheap adventure quest ripoff and padding the ever living hell out of it without actually making a cohesive game world is far easier
Jonathan Morales
>m-muh monologues Fuck off retard FGO not being loaded with poorly translated analogies is probably one of its greater strengths
All three of them have Clairvoyance right? Or at least Gil has something close enough? Doesn't that mean he's a Caster on par with Grand Candidates?
Owen Gutierrez
Why does it need to be a VN to be considered a decent story to tell
Dylan Butler
You've got a lot of people shitting on FGO (and rightfully so), but they almost never shit on the story in it of itself. It is partway decent, just really limited by the mobile game format. Everyone on /tmg/ despises FGO yet play it religiously, since it's pretty much the only souce of Nasuverse content we're gonna get for a good few more years
Owen Phillips
He's not on their level (Merlin only says Solomon is on his level) but yes he has clarivoyance ex it just works different. It's kind of not good for battle though.
Gabriel Sanders
Seething lmao why are you even playing if you don't like it
Jason Hughes
Did you watch ep.0? I think was better than First Order.
as the other guy says, it's already basically a VN with sometimes some fight in it, just to trick you in thinking you actually have to play it as a game
Bentley Adams
that's Lancer, this was Caster.
Cooper Allen
>FGO >not poorly translated Hahahahahahaha. You stupid Gachanigger. Keep eating shit. Say anything you like about the story, because that's also shit. It's not even halfway decent. It's like a flowchart with you fucks. >Insult FGO >well akshully you don't play it! >but I do >WHY ARE YOU PLAYING A GAME YOU DON'T LIKE?
Luke Thomas
What a fucking flaming faggot, eat shit and die
Zachary Harris
The fuck is wrong with you?
Jayden Ramirez
I couldn't really give a shit about gacha to be honest but it's really the only Nasu anything the fans are getting and it's not really 'that' bad
I have that downloaded and ready to watch next
Levi Rivera
>No he doesn't because the story is still told 100% through dialogue. It's missing detail. All it is, is talking. Then you clearly haven't played FGO then.
Oliver Sanchez
>It's kind of not good for battle though It lets him spot enemies true identity and weaknesses instantly, how is that not good for battle? Notice how many times in F/SN he has information he has no other way of knowing
Ryan Russell
twitter.com/t_takasekun >Tomoaki Takase (Mongrel) >Hello, I'm an animator (mongrel). I'm character designer for Occult Nine. I am honored to be in charge of character design in FGO Chapter 7 anime Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia, despite being a mongrel. Thank you in advance. o-okay...
James Adams
Kek. Guy has some good sense of humour.
Julian Bailey
>well akshully you don't play it! Who are you quoting? >WHY ARE YOU PLAYING A GAME YOU DON'T LIKE? >doesn't answer the question and continues to eat self proclaimed shit
Ryder Lee
It could've, but the current formula works well for the story as it's de facto a visual novel, and it includes the cash shop which doesn't alter at all the plot itself and make them rich.
Camden Clark
I kind of wish they'd just go ahead and make an entire show about FGO. El Melloi is boring as fuck and basically an appetizer to shut people up until Heaven's Feel comes out. FGO unironically has a better story than most Fate series. Who doesn't want to see a squad of time-traveling demigods beating up historical figures? With an FGO show I'd also get to see best boi Astolfo again
After Babylonia series and Camelot movies: >Salomon OVA >Each EOR gets given to a different studio >Shinjuku by Troyca >Agartha by Cloverworks >Shimosa by White Fox >Salem by SHAFT
>Cosmos in the Lostbelt TV series, each Lostbelt getting a full season >At least 2 Fate/ anime a year until 2025
