This. It was the whole point that Naruto would have killed Sasuke in BOTH confrontations if he clashes head in, yet they're treated as equals. A
Naruto and Sasuke for the same matter,around mid Shippuden Naruto becomes godlike while Sasuke gets rekt by Bee. Naruto keeps on unlocking new power ups while Sasuke gets just some sharingan, even the final battle needs Sasuke absorbing the power of all tailed beasts just to match Narato who's several tiers above him... But as adults they get treated as equals

To further that point the princes that do know about nen are not hunters so this whole arc is plot hole stew

You do realize seeing weird people do weird shit doesn't mean everybody will figure out Nen, right? Nen requires a shitton of training to acquire and you need either a mentor or a lot of meditation to even get it, and the mentor only comes where you get a Hunter license.
It's like in Dragon Ball. Nobody actually knows about Ki. They think that being able to shoot beams of energy and jump 50 feet in the air is a sign of a martial artist, and nobody questions it.

They also for some reason forget about all that shit and think it's tricks 10ish years later, but I think there was lead in the dragonball water supply or something because civilians in that show got real dumb at some point

Here's why they just forgot about it in Dragon Ball.
The last big show of Ki abilities was in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. After that, suddenly Satan won multiple Tenkaichi Budokais and all the lightshows are coming from ayyylmaos. There's also the fact that the only person one would be able to recognize out of the group at the Cell Games is Piccolo, and the general public was stupid enough to not know that Piccolo was the weird green guy at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai because of a turban.

Actually, the cell saga Tenkaichi Budokai was the 25th, so Satan presumably only won one without any of the gang being there.
There may be other tournaments though.

Not to defend HxH and your point about Nen being a well known thing for almost everyone is clear but not necessarily because the fights are broadcasted on tv means that everyone knows what nen is, maybe most people see it as cool shit.
Then again zushi was not a hunter and the spiders all knew Nen and i don't think any of them were hunters

Also if i recall that scene correctly, that's the exact point in the story when he realizes that his approach to his quirk was wrong and ends up developing full cowl, which is basically using 5% in his whole body all at the same time instead of going 100% on a single arm and destroying it in the process.

The other thing that gets me about the normies in dragonball is Satan says all the lasers and shit are tricks, but cell used those tricks to threaten the whole world, satan beating Cell means he saved the world, but if they're all tricks doesnt that mean the world wasn't even in danger?

they were always even it was jsut shown what type of force they use, the chidori uses penetrating force while the rasegan has more of a repulsing force, there is no retcon
