It's not, my precious animeonly. Ashita stuff is already woven into the anime so that the Takagi and Nishikata bits don't get overplayed.

You should've realized that when the spinoff came out with them as adults. It gives the author absolutely zero need to ever progress or end the story, since fans can just read that if they want to see them together.
It sucks, but I am also okay with the endless ride, since it's so immensely adorable. Even though it should grind on me how repetitive it is, somehow Nishikata getting flustered and Takagi getting closer and closer to basically telling him to fuck her or else he loses just doesn't get old. Or maybe it does and I don't care.
