of course it's subjective, but what ishida did here is literally just the same kind of character designs you'd see in TG but with a more "flamboyant" and vibrant style. if he drew any of these characters in dark, ordinary clothes with normal hairstyles they'd look exactly like a TG character.

The way he wasted Roma as a character is my biggest flaw with the entire series, literally the founder of the clowns and just like so many other major fights, some random bullshit no jutsu into Ishida's patented "really fast dash with a slash!" that somehow no character can ever see coming and it's over.

EVERY character suffered from the rushed second half, literally no exception. Kaneki regresses back to being a suicidal blockhead, Hide gets introduced in the final arc and practically does nothing, Q's became walking tropes and then you have characters like Eto or Amon who got JUST'd almost for the entire series

Honestly, I blame Ishida for not taking breaks and him just not caring enough about the series like he initially did. Then again, I primarily read the series for the art and didn't expect much from the story since an author's first work always comes with difficulties, especially when you have to meet weekly deadlines over and over. As far as talent goes, he's easily one of the most talented artists in the industry and it would just be wasted potential if he's just stucked with being a illustrator for the rest of his life.

Everyone does, and should. He literally said himself in an interview after the series was done that he rushed it because he just wanted the story to be done with. Obviously that's not word for word but that was basically the main thing to take away from what he said.

no i don't think so, it was definitely in that fight though and it was after she got cut up. maybe it is and im just forgetting.

If you can stomach the first 20 chapters or so, you might enjoy the wild ride that is part 1. Just don't expect too much from the series when you reach a certain point in the sequel. If you ask me, I'd say seeing how much the art improves throughout the series on a dramatic scale like that, alone makes it worth.

Honestly up until the second half of :re it's a really, really good series in my opinion. If you get fed up with it within like the first half of the original then just don't bother reading any more, but as the other guy said if you can get through the first bit of the original then you'll enjoy it up until it all goes to shit in :re like most other people.
