> However, looking over the entire animation industry, Mr. Kitani asserts that “anime will definitely decrease”. “It's not a business. Production costs are rising, and Chinese companies are no longer buying anime. Bundri! Is working very well, live goods and character goods are selling, there Is a field that is still growing, "he continued," In the past, anime was used for advertising, but now it is difficult to watch. It is necessary to promote to watch anime. " “It ’s a tipping situation,” he says.
industries change over time anime viewership might decline due to increasing production costs, decreasing disc/merchandise sales, and the inevitable burst of the overworked and underpaid staff (especially animators) bubble some studios might shut down, projects will be canned, the breakneck pace of seasonal anime releases will temper but anime is too deeply ingrained in modern japanese culture and too widespread and popular on the global stage to die comprehensively in the way you probably mean anime as a whole is a multimedia juggernaut and will never up and disappear completely, it just can't
Evan Taylor
Anime is a business, it exist for making money. The main source of money are the no-life Japanese otakus but they won't have long lifespans for their unhealthy life styles. Japan is going through a cultural shift for the Reiwa era and the remilitarization so it's hard to guess how it's going to affect to the next generation. The birth rate increased by 15%, which mean the young people now aren't having as much trouble for getting late and settling down as the 80s/90s/2000s generations and less ronery nips mean less obsesive fans having virtual girlfriends.
I agree with Anno's perspective. Anime as an aesthetic will survive but outside Japan
James Kelly
>and Chinese companies are no longer buying anime Why?
Caleb Adams
China is producing its own "anime".
Jack Adams
Maybe this way normalfags can finally fuck off from this medium
Lincoln Lee
Does anybody care about this shit? As far as I know even most Chinese critizise it and the only stans are a loud patriotic minority who pretends chinese stuff was better than the rest for the sake of it. If they don't start making actual good series they will only lose money by not buying and streaming anime and selling anime merch anymor.
Wyatt Thomas
Thank you Mr Kidani for saving my puroresu
Cameron Nelson
The matter of the fact is that Chinese companies aren't buying anime anymore. Also the CCP can bank this project for a long, long time because it's relatively cheap and worst Korea's government spend way more money in K-pop so it's not unheard of
Colton Morris
China vs Japan rivalry in anime is going to be interesting to watch.
Of course, but now friendship is casted out now it's business and it's about to pick up.
Robert Gray
Why the pink and white name tag? He's not a kawaii 2d girl.
Jonathan Rogers
Brits are still butthurt because those rice farmers destroyed the British empire. They never miss a chance to shit over Japan, often exagerating and manipulating the facts. See Tokyo Idol for example
Robert Ramirez
It doesn't really matter what China does, their anime will always have chinese voices that are worst than having powered up drills up your ears.
Julian Barnes
Maybe it will be very gradual, in 50 or 60 years from now the concept of "anime" as a whole will be revolutioned or will simply stop existing, but some new form of entertainment born from it will start to spread
Anthony Johnson
better than American VAs at least
Ian Wright
I fear it won't exist anymore and everything will be barbie-doll-faced cgi shit because this is what the majority is paying for and they ignore stuff that isn't like it.
I think there'll be a major cultural shift after America lose its central place in the world, which may happen in 15 or 20 years, maybe even less. Bland cgi shit is the norm because neoliberalism but neoliberalism is sustained by America and it hasn't always existed
Daniel Ortiz
>Production costs are rising Over time they could find ways to reduce it.
>bushiroad I could not give a single shit. These are the people xebec worked for last before getting bought off by sunrise. They make Konami look good.
Robert Martinez
China never bought anime, they watch them and generate ad revenue. I'm guessing he meant they would just stop watching Japanese animation because China is producing their own, which is also retarded, I'm not watching anime because America isn't producing any. Just how patriotic does he think people are, those sort of people wouldn't touch anime to begin with.
Kyoani saved all the computers with the datas, and they're going to be back sooner or later with a new generation of animators. It's not like all anime studios stopped existing after the fire incident.
Benjamin Cooper
I'll give five years to get themselves back on track. It won't be the same ever again because of this attack.
Brody Lewis
The only reason anime is dying is because they're so focused on selling only to the hardcore otaku niche they're not bothering to consider the rest of the world. All they have to do is add some diversity and stop animating problematic content such as fanservice involving unrealistic women or small children and they'll be able to start popularizing anime just fine in America and Europe and the rest of the world.
Jacob Evans
I expected that after Kyoani more schizos would have tried to emulate Aoba, heh
Aiden Sullivan
While a lot of people died, this is hardly the end of an industry, and (you) all see this as a lot bigger than it is in actuality. Anime will not disappear because one studio that hadn't made any good anime in years got toasted.
Ayden Perry
I almost fell for that bait
Evan Nelson
>I'll give five years to get themselves back on track. It won't be the same ever again because of this attack.
Indeed. The psychological scar could take who knows how long
Dominic Jenkins
What's your problem
Connor Fisher
But it will scare potential recruits I've heard many Japanese are considering other options instead of being an animator.
Christian Parker
This. I agree.
David Brown
But why? Visual Art's just publish vns, they don't develop anything but engines.
Nolan Cooper
>be aspiring animator and get great job opportunity >some psychopath burns you to death because... what was his motive again?
The bigger issue is likely around working conditions and fire standards.

>Make a Isekai anime based of a killier of chinks in WW2 >MC is based on a chad killed 3,000 people with a katana during the Second Sino-Japanese War. I wonder why chink dont want buy more anime anymore.
Seems to me that if that's actually the case, only the people who actually care about the medium will overlook the "potential danger" in the field and continue along that path. Still not seeing a downside. Not to mention what said, there are far bigger issues with the anime industry than arson.
Jeremiah Rivera
They're bad.
Juan Parker
neither. Just a psycho. Also *somehow* neighbors decided to not report this and get him evicted or arrested.
More than what this retarded board can understand. KyoAni had an animation school that constantly graduated more talent than what the KyoAni company itself could hire, which means they literally exported talent directly to the rest of the industry every single year.
Not anymore, some fat fuck destroy everything.
Logan Sanchez
yes. In regards to that, Yoshiji Kigami being a victim is a crushing blow to aspiring animators. Plus this guy will most likely be on the streets again since you can feign mental illness in Japan and get a new identity (see Kobe killer, the cannibal, etc)
The Kobe killer didn't get life because he was a child. The cannibal guy was an extremely case where he was found insane in France, then deported to Japan where he was found sane but couldn't be tried for lack of evidence since the French would not hand over what they had. None of these apply to the Kyoani guy who would surely die in prison and probably be hanged
John Walker
Indeed the loss of Kigami is devastating. We ought to be thankful that his main pupil wasn't inside that building, there's still hope for their animation school. But I don't know how that'll work out, I've read the guy was promoted to executive producer and we already know he's a busy director. So I can't see him having much time to guide the school.
Josiah Martin
Well, we've heard this said MANY times before. Often at times when the market actually made it seem like it could happen, however anime is doing very well at the moment.
Now the translation leaves alot to be desired, statements like 'it's not a business' makes no sense.
As for rising production costs, they will go down again once the slow transition from analog to FULL digital pipeline in the anime industry has finished.
Also a big boon is coming with machine learning which will automate a ton of the workflow, you can train your algoritms to fully color and shade your sketches, the possibilities are practically endless.
Anime has a growing audience, I know people who laughed at 'japanese cartoons' a couple of years ago who are now watching on a near daily basis.
Also what the fuck does 'In the past, anime was used for advertising, but now it is difficult to watch. It is necessary to promote to watch anime.' mean ?
Elijah Reyes
Why would this attack mean that the Kyoani animation school is shutting down ? Please show me a source of this.
Cooper Gonzalez
Thank god Miyazaki will be already dead so he won't witness the total downfall of anime
Thomas Adams
>see Kobe killer, the cannibal, etc Why don't YOU go and read those cases before crying wolf?
Benjamin Cook
well that's all fucking retarded anyway. They're already discussing how this arsonist is "mentally ill" and ill fit for hanging. That's dumb as fuck considering the methodical way this evil act was planned out >blocked all exits and safe spots >armed with knives to intercept escapees what's really frustrating is why they're taking so long to interrogate this asshole and make it public knowledge. I don't want to hear "he can nod his head" I want to fucking hear important shit.
If only humans could live for centuries they would see that history tends to repeat itself. There are many people who commented on the downfall of society or an establishment due to advancements in tech.
Just look up responses to the invention of the;

▶ >Decades down the road they may be using machine learning A.I. assistance to create anime. This, although it's not decades we're talking about, it's 3 years at the most. I work with 3d graphics, and I was at a meeting with another company where they showed their machine learning algoritm they are working on, and it was fantastic stuff.
Basically they showed a simple 3d character, like much simpler than what you see in a AAA console game, more like a maquette character. Then they had a couple of detailed images hand-drawn by an artist which had been drawn directly over a couple of frames of the simple 3d model, I believe there were 5 of them.
Then they trained the algoritm against these hand-drawn images with their corresponding 3d images, and when that was done they started to manipulate the 3d character in realtime, moving arms/legs, rotating, zooming, and in a window next to the 3d window, the machine learning generated a beautiful hand drawn version of the 3d character in the current pose, and it looked just as good as the original hand-drawn images by the original artist.
I thought directly about anime, imagine how much time they can save on this kind of tech, have talented artists draw a couple of beautifully detailed keyframes across a 3d maquette, then pose the 3d maquette according to your needs and have the algoritm generate images that look hand drawn in that particular style for each pose.
This meeting was 7+ months ago, I can only imagine that this has improved even more since then, and they said that they have competitors so things will move fast once these solutions hit the market.
Dylan Young
Advancing to improve the life of humans is one thing; anime, manga, and therefore art shouldn't be tied to technology advancement and their existence shouldn't depend on it. Painters wouldn't paint anymore, sculptors would let robots sculpt for them. Then what's the point of visual art if men aren't the creators anymore?
James Evans

Your very post is the same style uttered by people against such things like the printing press.
>KyoAni had an animation school that constantly graduated more talent than what the KyoAni company itself could hire, which means they literally exported talent directly to the rest of the industry every single year.
I did not know this. Now it makes sense to me why we constantly get so many masterpieces ever season.
Aiden Lewis
Having these things already integrated in the society doesn't make them inherently good.
Isaiah Mitchell
>KyoAni had an animation school They still have the animation school, why are you spreading bullshit ?
Dominic Hernandez
Censorship. Series acquired by streaming services like bilibili often get booted for no reason. Basically anything that gets popular and is not mindless CDGCT is at risk of getting banned. Violence of any sort is forbidden in TV/film media in China cause 'think of the children!!!'. Sexual content (like fanservice) is an obvious rule violation as well.

We could probably afford to have 90% of the anime produced every season axed and more effort be put into actually good anime. I don't see this as a bad thing. The markets flooded with complete shit and even the otakus' wallets can't keep up. Some quality control would go a long way.
Samuel Gomez
Destroyed it in one fell swoop and I'm not trying to bait when I say that. I hope somebody sticks that motherfucker in an oven and finishes the job.

This if anything this will save the anime industry, the anime industry has become over bloated with increasing more shows airing each season but the talent within the industry not increasing along with it. Things were better before when being an animator or working on an anime was a crazy ambitious idea, now it's become too normal and comfortable so you have untalented people who don't have much creative drive just showing up to do their 9-5 job at the animation studio and adapting some simple lightnovel or manga. Before it wasn't viewed as standard and wasn't a comfortable job it was crazy and dangerous, so if you were there you had something important you wanted to create.
Dominic Moore
user torture is wrong. Can you imagine the emotional trauma Aoba is going through as it is? He allegedly can't even speak because he's so shaken up from the incident.

I get pretty depressed thinking about what happened to KyoAni. Even when they weren't producing the best shows, I thought their production values were on point and I liked their character designs, too. I'll be called a doomer for saying this but I think they're basically ruined as a company- if Kigami had gotten out unscathed, I think they might have had a chance, but with their main teacher and veteran animator gone, I don't see how they could possibly come back in a million years.
Chase James

Isaac Thomas
Having empathy won't change progress. You think people knowing what the nuclear bomb could be used for stopped them from actually making it?
If they chose not to make it someone else would have done it anyway.
Same with all advancement. Just because you would hate to see anime change into a industry with less human workers and more A.I. assistance does not mean it will stop this from happening. If one anime company does not do it another anime company will and they will most likely thrive while the other companies die out.
Just like how Borders book store and Blockbuster video died out because they were too slow to adapt to the change of digital sales.
I may not be old but I have experienced the changes of the 80s/90s and 2000s and I can see how technology is advancing faster than ever before and the people who adapt first are those who thrive.
>The number is going back up though. That's not a good sign. I hope it's all anime original content.

>We should halt all technological and social progress and stagnate forever so I can keep my job as a cashier and not get replaced by a self-checkout kiosk Again, you’re a fucking moron who doesn’t even realize that there are MILLIONS of people working on new technology and new industries, and that forcibly stopping progress because of your “””empathy””” for those in old industries will lead to the people in new industries losing their livelihoods instead. You don’t actually care about people, you just care about making sure that you, yourself, are comfortable.
Don't project onto me you absolute retard. I don't how people like you exist but somehow you can't fathom the fact that technological progress isn't always good. AI being able to draw inbetweens and keyframes may be impressive but dipshits like you have zero empathy and never think about the animators that went to school, sacrificing years to get a job they're passionate about. They're going to be replaced by this new technology but hurr durr just adapt, they're smart right? Morons like you are actually going to be what brings everything down, not the emergent technology.
Austin Carter
Yes and the engineers and scientists who sacrificed years of THEIR lives working to get a job developing AI that they’re passionate about don’t matter to you, right? Two sides to every issue you utter moron.
Gavin Foster
Right because it's only the scientists that matter and it's fine that the fruits of their cool AI research are fucking people over. Dipshit.
Ryan Davis
Brainlet, most of the work goes to cheap draw slaves in korea, china, philippines. The problem is old fuckers like the OP being greedy.
Daniel Stewart
It already started.
David productions started to use a program that does most of the inbetween drawings. Apparently, using that program reduces production problem and allows them to have a better schedule. Still, they need to correct a lot of the drawing or the program doesnt work correctly when the drawing are very "loose" or "dynamic"
In a few years, they probably wont need to do any inbetween or hell, no need to do most of the key frames.
Isnt this the same guy who said idolshit was dying in favor of band anime?
Parker Foster
You have to live with the times and adapt. People who survive are those who adapt their skills to the changes made.
There are whole lines of work that used to employ millions of people that are no longer here. Those people went on to other professions or used their current skills to fit with a new industry.
We used to have a breed of dog that was only meant to walk on a wheel to turn a spit and cook food.
That breed of dog is gone because we no longer needed them.
Over the past 10 thousand years or so we have wiped out jobs you never knew existed.
If you went to school to learn a job that is no longer in demand that is your fault.
As a programmer I have had to adapt all the time. You think I use only what I learned in college decades ago?
Those people still went to school to learn how to animate. AI being able to do their work would make all those years in college worthless Like I said before adapting is going to extremely difficult when the only important jobs in the future are going to be computer science related. Old farmer Joe isn't going to be able to learn code after decades of working the field.
Ian Flores
>anime will definitely decrease And that's a good thing. The industry comes up with maybe 2 or 3 good anime per year, the rest are all objective garbage.
Liam King
You think it wasn't the same for the old people of the past?
All I hear from you is complaining. Kids these days love to complain just to complain without actually offering any solutions to the problems they complain about.
When the KyoAni incident happened, I begrudgingly gave up on anime and decided to focus solely on manga. When the only remaining studio that doesn't outsource their work to subhuman Koreans and Filipinos gets gutted and loses every single one of their best talents, I figure that's the proverbial nail in the coffin for anything resembling quality visuals in anime.
Jayden Young
That old farmer should have saved money in order to retire by the time he was old. Or he should have raised a family to take care of him.
Not my fault he was lazy and didn't plan ahead for the future.
Parker Cook
Thank God anime as a whole will beome a niche again and normalfaggots can fuck off and pretend to like other shit somewhere else

Because it wasn't the same you fuck. It's wasn't that hard to transition from farm to factory because you you didn't have to pick any new skills, you didn't have to change majors, anyone and everyone could do it. It's different this time, an average person isn't going to be able to pick up the skills needed to transition quickly into a computer science related job. Not everyone is capable, there are a shit ton of unfilled positions even now.
Carson Anderson
The average person can pick up those computer science skills but in a different form.
Do you think farmers' skills of the 1700s are the same as current farmers? There are whole new fields dedicated to farming that were never around decades ago.
And while technology might wipe out old jobs in brings in new ones. This has been the case for thousands of years.
If people don't want to adapt then that if their fault. They have decades to see the changes yet make no effort to learn from them.
I know plenty of people in their 50s who had to learn something knew to enter a different industry and they did just fine.
Heck I am a fucking idiot but had no problem learning computer programming.
If you were an idiot and picked a dying profession that is on you.
Most professions like farming never die out. They just change due to advancements in tech. If you are in the agriculture industry then you learn to adapt to those changes and you can make a good profit.
My university is in the heart of the agriculture industry. There is plenty of farmland out here and plenty of rich farmers with mansions in the country.
Anecdotes aside, a future of automation will being in new jobs like what exactly? Maintaining the machines we build to do every single job? Even that will end up being automated. You also say you're an idiot but at the same time have no problem learning programming, you realize that just means you have an aptitude for it right? A painter isn't going to have an easy time as you learning code. Not everyone is like you, we're all wired differently.
Easton Johnson
You know how phone games and microtransactiosn became a go-to for the game industry and how visual novels these days are uploaded in parts?
What do you think is the "live service" of anime?
Kayden Cook
Why do people say this when we know KyoAni is going to start a new project? Things won't be the same, but it's not like they completely died and are never making anime again
Owen Brooks
>All they have to do is add some diversity and stop animating problematic content such as fanservice involving unrealistic women or small children and they'll be able to start popularizing anime just fine in America and Europe and the rest of the world. If you look at the kind of anime that get popular, I don't think that would help much
Dominic Perry
I bet if every studio had working conditions that were more humane closer to KyoAni's level, we wouldn't be having this problem
Elijah Brooks
If there is money to be made then someone will do it.
Yes eventually there may be a time when every job can be done by a robot. I can't imagine what new things will be discovered by then just like a person from the 1700s could not imagine the internet.
Humans are adaptable creatures. The topic you bring up of all industries being self sustaining without the need of humans is so far into the future that the possible solutions to humans finding work are probably something you would never think of.
People have no idea what the future will hold. Just look at what people of the 1920s thought the 2000s would be like.
The translation is shut, but he's saying that in the past, anime shows were glorified commercials to promote manga, light novels or merchandise etc But today, the "advertisement" needs to be advertised to get people to watch it. Which defeats the purpose of having a 20 minute ad
Henry Hill
>And while technology might wipe out old jobs in brings in new ones. Retraining has historically been a failure. The only place where it's high is in specially selected government programs in european countries where they basically tell people who don't qualify to get fucked just like they do with their colleges.
The reality is most people of yesteryear ate shit when the market changed and had to rely on their 5-8 kids to send money back to support them.
Cameron Long
Anime will never truly die. It'll just change. The people watching anime in the 60s could have never predicted the 90s who can't predict the 20s
Kayden Gomez
>Japan is going through a cultural shift for the Reiwa era That implies that the changing Emperor is somehow responsible for a change in culture. He isn't, culture was already changing before Naruhito was crowned and then kept changing without the Emperor doing anything.
Then that is what happens to lazy ass people who don't learn to adapt. They either have a fall back or they are stupid and suffer.
I may be a programmer but I still put away almost half of my paycheck and I have a fall back if my profession doesn't work out.
You act like we should care about the kids who spend all their time on a college degree in communications and wonder why they have trouble making enough to pay the bills.
You mind offering any solutions to the complaints you bring up?
No?
Then all you are doing is whining like a spoiled brat.
Life is not fair. You are not owed anything. Deal with it.
Leo Wood
Sometimes you need a little fire under your ass to bring out the little bit of extra effort.
Carter Scott
Except in this day in age we're able to predict the rate of technological growth and its effects in the next 30 years, we know because of AI and automation that computer science will have the most important jobs and you're fucked if you aren't already studying it. I've gone over multiple times already that people aren't ready because getting into computer science is extremely difficult for those without aptitude. It really isn't possible for them to prepare and all those unfilled positions will stay that way because lots of people just don't have the aptitude for computer science.
Joshua Kelly
Why do you keep typing like this?
Justin Morales
How much money do they even make trying to distribute it on various international markets anyways?
Nolan Edwards
Japanese people take the change of the emperor very seriously. It's not that Naruhito was crowned per se but that nips consciously want a change in their lifes to mark the new era and there were strong rumors for the abdication since former emperor Akihito announced he was tired
Elijah Bailey
this shit is so mind-numbingly and strangely aggravating whenever it's brought up. 35 talented artists died to some faggot that had his electricity repeatedly cut off for not turning off the lights when ordered to
Noah Harris
>but that nips consciously want a change in their lifes to mark the new era OK, and what changes have they made? Have they stopped using fax machines? Are they no longer fixated on their dumb senpai/kohai dynamics? Are women no longer expected to leave their job when they get married? Are drug-related crimes no longer taken more seriously than rape and pedophilia?
Nolan Brooks
You don't seem to understand that professions can merge with others. You think 1900s farmers died out after genetic engineering became a big thing? No those same farmers who are successful today added new information into their field.
The same happens with other industries. They usually don't just die out but instead adapt new techniques into their area of expertise.
Mostly related to militarism and navy expansionism

Computer science jobs are being outsourced en masse to South Asians who do the work for pennies, so it's not like that's a secure thing in a First World country these days.
Nathan Lee
The Japanese citizens may hold differing beliefs but their government would like nothing more to have the status quo remain with the United States in control of providing military aid to them.
It would be extremely expensive if Japan wanted to gain full military control of their country.
Brody Thomas
So in other words, most normal everyday people haven't changed at all, and life in Japan is still the same as ever, the government is just using the new era to enact the foreign policies they always wanted to do, got it.
Nathaniel Butler
Computer Science major here. I live around Silicon Valley and the way I stay afloat is contracted jobs. I work for myself. I still beat on my friend for selling his bidding script to eBay for only 250k. The guy was in for a quick cash grab as a newly grad student and didn't know he was ripped off.
Aaron Richardson
The JSDF is already bigger than most first world armies. The only reason it isn't an official army yet isn't burgerland but the relations with China, because despite there's an amend to article 9 that allow the JSDF to launch preventive attacks and most probably Japan will go to Iran, they still can claim to be a pacifist nation for the sake of stability in the region
Brandon Sanchez
If I brought up a solution we'd be in an even longer conversation about basic income and social safety nets and I dont want to do that. I just wanted to point out how you're incredibly ignorant for saying people can just adapt when the future is headed towards prioritizing jobs that require skills that can't be easily learned by most people.
Ryan Walker
Machines can't create music or artwork. Leave the entertainment industry to humanity.
Zachary Young
I guess I'm just looking for sour grapes since I wasted my one chance at college on a fairly useless degree and I'm now in my late 20s with no prospects and struggling to get grocery store jobs. Something holds me back from killing myself but I still wish I had the skill to pursue computer science so I could amount to something, but I failed College Algebra so I know that's just an impossible pipe dream. I'll be a wage slave for life, if that.
Parker Hernandez
Indeed. Japan should take from shows like Steven Universe, Legend of Korra, and She Ra if it truly wants to thrive.
Elijah Moore
>Machines can't create music or artwork Hold my beer
Those people die out or rely of charity. Life is not some utopia of everyone getting free hand outs. I had to bust my ass to get where I am which is still no where but at least I can save for the future.
We live in the best of times and young kids still find the need to whine.
If someone is unwilling to learn and put in the effort then they deserve the repercussions.
If you spent all your time getting a college degree in female studies then don't come complaining when it doesn't make a living.
US is charging them money to keep their bases there, it won't be expensive if they left. Japan is building up SEA just like in the ww again. >everything must changed in less than a year >huge military presence again will change nothing Okay retard.
Luis Butler
You can learn programming with very little knowledge in mathematics.
And the late 20s is still very young. I know plenty of guys in there 40s and 50s who went back to college for a degree and are doing fairly well.
You just need to put in the effort and find something to drive yourself to do it.
I find it to be like when you are a kid and your dad tells you to mow the lawn. You spend most of the day complaining and trying to find reasons to not mow the lawn that when you actually spend the 15-20 minutes to do it you wonder why you made it out to be such a big issue.
4-8 years is nothing when you have 50 or 60 yet to live.
Heck you can get a 2 year degree in some medical fields that pays decently.
Just be sure not to spend all your cash and put some away for the future. That or raise a family to help take care of you when you get old.
Machines can't write, animate, voice act, and create an OST for an anime original series. Things intended for human entertainment are still far to complex for a machine to create on it's own.
Jeremiah Cox
Says the neet.
Easton Roberts
The MCU is more machine than man. Writers, directors and similar are disposable tools that just follow the algorythms. This is what the masses reward
Anime will never sell without tits and asses and cute girls. Most people like him just wants to turn anime into a propaganda machine, then not consume it, but force other to do so.
Jacob Allen
As shit as Hollywood movies have become in the last decade, they were still created by a dedicated team of people. The algorithms you speak of are nothing but statistical data they use as a guideline. A machine isn't competent enough to create something on that level without human aid.
Gabriel Cruz
Won't be permanent, they're just shaping up for the olympics
Elijah Hernandez
There are many pieces of entertainment that you have viewed that are entirely artificial and you have not noticed it.
I guarantee it.
Connor Watson
hey, it worked for Yea Forums
Adrian Ross
>Anime will never sell without tits and asses and cute girls Actually it's not about making anime girls to wear burkas or something. Everybody loves cute girls in Japan, even Miya-san does (maybe a little too much). It's about anime turning into a girlfriend simulator for ronery nips and how much that limit the industry
Blake Hill
Ew
Alexander Hughes
I can't afford to go back to school, man. It's just not going to happen.
Easton Fisher
Why would it limit an industry? Cause these people are willing to vote with their wallets while trannies don't? Why not use your buying power to compete which is how a healthy market is supposed to work?
Evan Lee
>healthy market well that's the thing, isn't it. in practice, the markets are NEVER "free" or "fair"
Aaron Martin
No it didn't. Only long running series got any following and after GoT ended TV viewing got even less. What are you talking about? There's anime for everyone, and we got shows like EnS this season too. Not everything is a girlfriend simulator like you want to believe, Senran Kagura is even less because there's no self-insertable MC (so his examples feels like him just going full tranny-tier "ew, tits and asses that are better than mine").
Joseph Phillips
I can believe it. It would explain why 95% of all the media I've consumed in the past year have been absolute dogshit.
Caleb Bailey
Less shows but higher quality ones would be a good thing. We don't need seasonal waifu trash.
Oliver Thompson
I hope this AntonioBoro97 get deported for being a shitt faggot Fucking tranny
>seasonal waifu trash This is kind of a false notion about cute girls being in all anime. No one is telling people to pick up a waifu every season. The anime is just there, as is the cute girl to waifu on. They're there for people without a waifu. You're a faggot if you have multiple waifu. I can feel you projecting here.
Robert Stewart
>Senran Kagura is even less because there's no self-insertable MC Why is always us vs them with you guys? Either you're a cool waifufag that vote for Trump and hate niggers or else you're a tranny dilating that vote for Shillary and want to destroy anime by making every character disable, overweight, biracial and trans? Apparently you guys can only think in binaries
And two wrongs don't make a right. How are people's taste for hentai and shit any different than some tranny's taste in chopping his dick off and wanting to act as a male cum dump? It's both sexual preference. You even have people here who swear by 2D and hate 3DPD, how are they less legitimate than trannies? Do you think people don't find the idea of chopping one's dick off and drilling a hole in its place not disgusting? How is that any more legit than wanting 2D sluts? If sexuality is such a huge freedom how can you limit it to one group and not the other?
Just look at other industries. When have clothing brands that market to sluts ever got politik'd into making more conservative wear? Why do we not have people chimping out at Calvin Klein models for showing too much skin when their ads are plastered in broad daylight? That's certain to reach more underage people than anime and vidya which require you to fucking buy it.
Mason Hill
Exactly, and they lost every one of their teachers. They're done.
Andrew Kelly
Nah, I'm fully aware that the world has shades, but let's not pretend that pure white and pure black doesn't exist.
Jeremiah Walker
>How are people's taste for hentai and shit any different than some tranny's taste in chopping his dick off and wanting to act as a male cum dump? Watching hentai is healthy. Wanting to mutilate yourself is a sign of a mental disease.
Nathaniel Murphy
This guy should fucking kill himself my god
Levi Lee
Pure black and white doesn't exist at all. That's literally autism
Luke Sullivan
Unfortunately not the case in most of the West. Male sexuality and banter is baaad and toxic. But passive aggressive backstabbing and bitchy cunts are okay.
Grayson Morgan
>Vanguard >non stop LIES they took a two month break once
Sebastian White
They realized Anime was a mistake
Brody Torres
any translucent or reflective material that does not absorb or emit photons, but scatters them randomly is by definition "pure white" and any black hole is "pure black"
Nicholas Evans
Then hentai should be accepted more than trannies. Case closed. That said I doubt the retards here will accept that so let's bring up the actual impact of people's sexuality.
>2Dfag doesn't reproduce = zero damage to community through sexual preference >Gays don't reproduce = spreads aids and therefore wastes medical care expertise >Trannies don't reproduce = wastes medical expertise through operations and also pisses out chemicals that are nearly impossible to clean and filter through the water system economically for any country
No matter how you look at it, 2Dfags are objectively the least harmful of the 3 groups to the planet and humanity as a whole. Hell they might even go outside and make babies if the stars align! Trannies can't do that.
>The majority of the Violet Evergarden team is intact. Thats the worst part
Jaxon Taylor
>Does anybody care about this shit Only the parents who don't know the difference between anime and chiname. All they care about is "cartoon" and if it looks similar enough, they'll feed that to kids. Anyone in their teens/adult only watches japanese anime lol.
Brayden Price
>Machines can't create music or artwork are you stupid or something?
Nathaniel Reed
Give some examples of AI creating original music and artwork without any human aid.
Eli Reyes
People have been saying they expect the number of shows per season to decrease for years.
Justin White
But we're not in the list of countries that helped start a world war, whereas Japan is.
Ian Murphy
Yeah. the production cost of hiring A-list seiyuu is increasing because they're basically celebs at this point. fuck seiyuu.
Camden Green
He literally destroyed Japan's otaku economy. KyoAni was the last bastion of decency. Now it's nothing but Indians drawing scenes and working on CG from here on out.
Noah Wilson
But unironically, imagine how much better anime would do if they just dropped loli/shota altogether. They could keep literally all other sickfuckery and the world would stand with them if they'd just stop being like "hey we all want to fuck these sexy kids right?"
Wyatt Campbell
I assumed most Seiyuu, aside from a few big earners who consistently get booker for a lot of gigs, make fuck all. Isn't that the case?
Austin Garcia
Kek
Jace Mitchell
That is indeed the case, don't listen to that moron. The big earners do a shit ton of work and have huge popularity, and most of the time they tend to also sing or dance doing concerts and shit etc etc.
There's no way it's comparable, like imagine if vidya game dubbing or cartoons was done by the A-listers of Hollywood instead of literal whos.
Kevin White
look at his stupid elvis haircut and tell me you take him seriously.
Connor Price
CGI anime like kemono friends will save anime. mark my words. Season 2 was just a small bump on a long road.
Daniel Hill
>CGI anime like kemono friends will save anime. No.
Anime Originals are better than adaptations generally, imo. Adaptations are typically just worse versions of a manga or webnovel. There is no room for creativity in most cases beyond adding pretty colors to someone else's work. There are exceptions of course, but those only really serve to prove the rule. Original content, however, really allows for creativity and unique ideas come to the forefront, and it helps make animation in Japan more than just an advertisement for whatever source material is trendy that year.
Nathaniel Myers
If Hollywood is remotely close as a test, risking it on an original idea is too risky so who knows what we'll get stuck with
Camden Sanchez
If anything the anime industry never stopped growing in popularity over the years, specially among western consumers. I understand that just like anything else production costs are always on the rising, but I fail to understand how the whole fucking industry could be collapsing just because of that, maybe smaller companies will die but the anime industry as a whole should fine, no?
>le epic chart Basically all the money in your chart is made from merchandise, retard. That has nothing to do with the quality or lack thereof of the source material.
Michael Martinez
I demand to know how Anpanman is this successful
Christian Wright
I'm fine with 10-15 anime per season if the quality goes up.
Christian Ross
>Merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made
Any Yea Forumsermin can tell me why fist of the north star sells so many video games?
Bentley Collins
>The main source of money are the no-life Japanese otakus but they won't have long lifespans for their unhealthy life styles. So? New otakus will replace them. It's not like they're a product of a generation, like millennials, they're a product of consumerism.
Jacob Long
it's fun watching people explode user.
Brody Foster
Going like that, it isn't like the anime industry is particularly experimental anyhow, so its not like there is much too lose. Mainly the issue is that anime has outgrown its ability to be an advertisement for manga. When people are coming for the anime first and foremost and the manga second (as is popular in the West and getting more so seemingly in Japan) its not fitting its original purpose anymore. You aren't really gonna make your money back selling copies of whatever series is popular when people aren't buying them because the show is more attractive to that demographic.
With reference to the West again, Disney and other cartoon companies have proven that you don't really need source material to sell merch of your show. Kids love Spongebob and afaik there was never a Spongebob comic. Or to go adult, the Simpsons and Futarama built empires out of Ad Revenue, neither focused on merchandise all that much.
Tyler Gomez
Who gives a shit about chinks?
Jose Jackson
They won't, actually. Anime otaku are slowly dying out in Japan, and most new otaku these days are idol otaku, which spend far more and are the big draw for companies to cater to.
I would argue that pirating is ingrained in the community at this point. Although tear is an interesting dichotomy in anime for the west in that it survived because of that
Luke Reyes
Seems to parallel the West, the Nerds of the 70s and 80s spent a lot less on whatever obsession they had, whereas now the new Nerds are far more willing to shill out the big bucks for whatever they are interested in. Also the change in what is the focus of 'Nerd Culture' happened there too.
Angel Foster
>Japan is totally gonna turn around next year, guys! I can feel it! We’re gonna make history!
You can't pirate most merchandise user. They are physical.
Aaron Smith
Jesus could
Bentley Torres
Streaming money literally could save anime industry. They just need to get rid the production committee system and directly flow the money to the animators so that there are more animators joining the industry.
Grayson Reyes
Well that's why the Jews had him killed.
Ayden Lopez
What is this awful Google translate gibberish? Fuck off
Jayden Wright
Alibaba begs to differ. There's a shit ton of unofficial merch on it
Juan Thomas
That's bootleg, it's a bit different.
Jose Jackson
Yes, but end result of the creators getting nothing is pretty similar.
Jaxson Foster
Pffft, why would the producers do that? Animators are just dumb mercenaries who are into this whole thing for the sake of art, not for money, after all.
Lucas Lopez
AI is created and trained by humans you fucking idiot. They made some, and they were all stupid and impractical for obvious reasons. Learn to distinguish movie fantasies from what "they promised us we'd have".
John Kelly
No it's vastly different. Piracy for digital goods tends not to make anyone money. Bootleg makes money to people other than the creators.
In the case of the consumer, if a consumer doesn't really care for a product they might pirate it to not pay, but they would not bother buying bootleg unless the quality/price ratio is superior enough to the original product to warrant a consideration, and if it's considered, that means the original creators are trying to jew their product in the first place and for whatever reasons there aren't enough competitors to force their prices down.
Sebastian Allen
>go back to school Just fucking buy a textbook for the language you want to learn, and another design textbook for the sort of thing you want to learn how to code in that language. Then either make an app and sell it (put the time in, don't shit out something broken), or make a decent demo and take it to the company you want to hire you. Forget the degree, no one will hire you without something impressive or 3-5 years of experience you can't get from anyone. I know, I have a software degree and work as a cashier because the years of dumb fucking lectures ending with "okay now go read the chapter I didn't bother to cover and figure out the homework by yourself now that the day is mostly over" burnt me out to the point I can't even look at code without wanting to kill myself.
P.S. I'm not complaining either, customer service is pretty bearable and keeps me housed and fed! Don't be such a depressed faggot all the time, your work is just meant to keep you alive.
Carter Phillips
user was arguing that AI would take the roll that humans play in the entertainment industry. I argued that was unrealistic, and impractical. You are just reinforcing my point.
Angel Howard
It will. Humans will only retain maintenance and management roles. You don't understand what AI is or how to computer.
Asher Johnson
Would you mind divulging what country that company is from? My guess is Japan.
Aiden Johnson
I mean, licensed merch is always kind of expensive because of how many ways the profits get split. My view on a lot of this has become pretty warped ever since I graduated from college and got a decent paying job
Luis Kelly
I remembered how the WIT Studio president was proud that his staff was willing to sleep in the office and relied on candy bars just to finish working on the anime production on time. Producers and studio presidents are the real devils in the anime industry.
Hudson Diaz
>I mean, licensed merch is always kind of expensive because of how many ways the profits get split. Yes and that's what keeps the system going askew. People talk about AI/robots taking over jobs well I ask you, if you could use AI/Robots to remove the middlemen or even publish your own works with just the investment of the robot, why does your shit need to be so expensive?
Matthew Walker
>Violence of any sort is forbidden in TV/film media in China cause 'think of the children!!!'. Sexual content (like fanservice) is an obvious rule violation as well. not think of the children it's a very clear tactic of the chicoms who are constantly afraid of civil uprisings. televised acceptance of violence could encourage it's use against the state, normalization of sexuality could result in more pregnancies which could create more fractures for uprising to flourish.
Chase Clark
Based and bandpilled.
Aaron Butler
Just like flying cars, it's impractical to make a machine do a job a human was intended to do. No, artificial intelligence will not take the leading roll in the entertainment industry. It lacks creativity, and only spits out what it was fed. Regardless if that changes in the next few decades, I can still guarantee people will still make entertainment nearly the same way they do now.
Aaron Martinez
Licensed merch when it comes to idols/musicians/etc are essentially a form of trust between them and real fans. People aren't buying it just for the product, but to show genuine support.
People are just too backwards in their thinking. Imagine if Disney had the power to crack down on piracy decades ago when their Classic era first started. Imagine if everyone who didn't buy the VHS or went to the movies didn't get to see The Lion King or Aladdin or The Little Mermaid, or Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh. Do you think they'd still be the immortal icons of Disney to this day? Likely not, cause the sales sure as hell don't paint the picture of their media sales soaring in Asia, and yet Winnie the Pooh merchandise is ridiculously popular in Japan and Taiwan. You ever go to Tokyo Disneyland, 1/5 toddlers has a Pooh bear plushie, often ones bigger than the toddlers themselves.
Ultimately media products are not meant to make profit, but to advertise and create a place in a consumer's mind for the long term. People simply don't understand this because they are too greedy for short term profit.
Adrian Long
>often get booted for no reason massive amounts of gore, cannibalism, visual depiction of rape
Bentley Morris
That's why I like violence in anime. Some bad guys just need the stuffing beaten out of them.
It's not about creating music or artwork, but streamlining the process, so said music or artwork can be created with less people, a tighter budget or in shorter production time.
Juan Smith
user the CCP literally axed webnovels because they depicted consensual sex.
Landon Torres
You guys keep talking out of your ass about this AI shit like it's some sort of game changing miracle. Every deep learning AI simply takes a bunch of preset input data, and tries to replicate it as close as possible. There isn't anything new being created here. It lacks the fundamentals to create anything new or endearing, because at the end of the day it's just a machine. There isn't any driving creative force that would allow an AI to create any good entertainment. It would just be rehashed garbage that wouldn't make much sense, because AI lacks basic human emotions. As a tool, yeah I can see it being used in the future by a few people. But to completely automatize entertainment would literally and unironically create nothing but soulless garbage nobody would enjoy.
Samuel Brooks
Anime won't die. Not unless Japan ran out of things to shill. Society might change but Japan is known to be a traditionalist nation, and anime itself has embedded in the tradition and culture of Japan.
>unironically create nothing but soulless garbage People want soulless garbage user. There's already AI-assisted music production software that can create synthesize melodies based on what's been tried and successful before. And it works because people like hearing the same five or ten different chord progressions and shit because it sounds good.
Ayden Mitchell
Why not do it the old fashion way though? It's not like it's much harder. Plus, it gives you much more freedom over the end product. Otherwise it's like throwing something into some black box, and seeing what comes out the other end. It just seems impracticable unless you are using it for a specific reason. So at the end of the day it's just like how CGI is used in anime now. It's cheap, clashes with the scene, and everybody hates it.
Cameron Young
pokemon got less than 1.0% TV ratings recently
Jayden Mitchell
but that's not a ca- >that fucking ending my sides
David Nguyen
Shitty CGI is just artists being unfamiliar with the technology. You look at something like Into The Spider-Verse and you see how far behind Japanese animators are in using CGI.
Nicholas Garcia
Just because normies like it, doesn't mean we should encourage the death of an industry. Shit like that wouldn't last anyways. Music evolves over time. People would move on to something new given time. Hopefully something requiring much more effort.
John Gomez
It's probably mostly the pachinko
Hudson Ortiz
I'm glad Japan is unfamiliar with the technology. 2D animation is unironically the most unrestrictive, and creative medium in the industry. Animation in the West is virtually dead. Nothing but cheap garbage slapped together to make a quick buck. Anime is a treasure that should be protected, not something that should be tainted with cheap business practices.
Colton Morales
How do you think human minds accomplish the creative process, oh mystical one? > it's impractical to make a machine do a job a human was intended to do THAT IS WHAT EVERY MACHINE EVER HAS BEEN CREATED TO DO. >the leading roll ROLE, dumbass, it's ROLE. And no, the LEADING (management) role will be people maintenancing machines, and the machines will take the CREATIVE and ORGANIZATIONAL roles. The artists, the writers, will be machines. People will make entertainment like this, and also the old-fashioned way, and the market will decide which survives for whatever reasons people actually end up caring about, but the idea that art is some mystical unapproachable thing only humans can make is wrong, because AIs are made out of human intention to learn, mimic, dream and derive, expressed algorithmically.
The artistic triumph of an AI is the triumph of its coders, theorists, managers and trainers - but it can be duplicated ad infinitum once set up, creating new and interesting things.
Gabriel Wright
>People want soulless garbage user. I just want my sequels to my favorite anime shows that's all.
Mason Martinez
The sooner anime dies, the sooner it can be reborn.
Bentley Lopez
Because they only care what sells. If they think an idea won't sell, they won't help.
Do you think a mecha anime like Armored Trooper VOTOMS would sell well these days?
Oliver Robinson
>machines will take the CREATIVE and ORGANIZATIONAL roles >the artists, the writers, will be machines That is where you are wrong. Machines are dumb, soulless things that only do what they are told. You can't tell a machine to draw a dog if it doesn't know what a dog is. You need to TEACH a machine what to do, otherwise it won't know how to do it. Machines aren't capable of more creative task, like designing an original character from scratch. Imagine it trying to animate a fight choreography, while keeping the character models consistent, on top of generating the background animation, and having multiple characters moving around in 3D space. Nearly impossible for a machine. You are much better off doing it the traditional way. Don't even get me started on an AI in charge of the writing. Like I stated earlier, machines lack the creativity to accomplish such a task.
Tyler Bennett
Anime otaku are born from the need for escapism. Japanese society is garbage and the first world in general is in serious economic/social decline. You're right in that anime otaku will be replenished. Anime survived over 50 years of changes in demographics, monetization, and trends. The industry crashed and re-emerged several times already.
Grayson Murphy
There is no such thing as "soul" or "a soul". You don't notice the "soul" of things, you notice creative details and realize that they are good, and you want to feel more enlightened or attuned to things than people who know more than you, so you try for this elitist construct of "soulfulness" which sane people understand as being the sum of its parts, and what those parts are, which are largely a mystery to you. You don't understand the creative process and have never made anything worthwhile, and your brain is rotted from too much shonen without having read or learned enough, so anime is made out of "soul magic" to you through a mysterious process which is a byproduct of a human doing it directly, and the magic can't possibly translate to a machine that humans make and pour their intelligence and ambition into, because that would make it unspiritual, and thus you'd just be a regular dumbass, not a connoisseur of fine taste. The only thing that is in decline right now is housing cost over total wages, which is due to increasing population. Nearly everything else (survival tier or basics tier, not luxuries overpriced for clout) is getting cheaper, better, and more available contrasted with the minimum, median and mean wages of the areas it is sold in - even in China. Your "everything is crashing" meme is sold by every economist and reporter out there, yet it keeps on not happening generation after generation.
Joseph Cruz
This is what killed video games.
Nathan Johnson
bad news for you, user, the Japanese are going extinct. The men are losing their will to nakadashi into women.
This, angry old nips making these statements are out of touch anyway.
Landon Green
>watching unironic chinese cartoons it's shit. 10 minute episodes including the ED, janky animation and they gave up after 6 episodes. The manhua was alright from what I read.
Anime adaptation will survive because want to advertise their shit. The only one that might die is original anime unless they attach a big name to it.
Jack Young
animators are dumb souless things that only do what they are told with key frames as a basis. They grind for hours on wages that would make a grocery bagger laugh.
News for you, machines are already making anime.
Brayden Barnes
Shit meme.
Logan Nguyen
Worst is all the Chinese manga equivalents that get translated having the most mary-sue characters possible and running on "fuck you it just works" with a world that lacks definition. Mao really succeeded in the cultural revolution in a way that's killed all of their old culture and mythos to the point where no one understands how that shit is supposed to function.
Nathaniel Perez
Machines lack intent. Ultimately, things like art and music are just another form of communication. There is a fundamental message mixed in there that the viewer can interpret, and relate with on a deeper level. A machine is incapable replicating this on it's own, because it's just mindlessly regurgitating what it's been fed. You end up with a mixed message, with things often being inconsistent. This is because the AI isn't keeping track of what it's been doing, and doesn't have an end goal in mind. It has no creative vision, no message to offer, nothing but data set it's been fed, with no direction. This is what I mean by "soulless". I understand the creative process more than you.
Connor Ross
No one accepts trannies, people just smile and nod around them so they don't get brigaded by psychos and whiteknights that get off on making people unemployable through social media bashing. And even then most of those people only do that so they can feel like part of something, it was never about helping a tranny. In reality most people think trannies are annoying at the very least.
Nathan Hall
>new generation of animators Who don't exist because it's such a low paying job that you have to work a second job at wcronalds to make ends meet.
Logan Torres
>people just smile and nod around them And amusingly enough this attitude is what allows social media bashing to keep happening. It doesn't matter what you really think, the point is people allowed these retards to take control of far more power than they ever should have been allowed and now everyone is paying for it.
Jason Wood
Shifting your vague hand-waving boogeyman from "soul" to "intent" doesn't make you less of a sad, desperate asshole lying to yourself. Computers are far better at following a single goal than humans could ever be, so long as that goal can be fully abstracted by the programmers. AI helps with that by essentially programming itself given feedback and information from developers - and from itself, in the case of generational adversarial networks, which I won't even try to begin to explain to a determined retard like you. Computers are literally built to keep track of what they are doing and you could never hope to be a tiny percentile as good at a machine at keeping track of exactly what it is doing, and being able to recall and refer to it whenever it wants, incredibly quickly and accurately. So no. You are wrong. You cannot into computer. You do not know what AI is, or even what programming is. You do not understand your own mind or species. Succinct and true.
Hudson Sanders
Inbetweeners have been being automated, but what about the keyframe artist? Can they be replaced so easily by a machine? Inbetweeners still play an essential role in the animation process. Normally filled by rookie animators, until they can work their way to a lead role. Machines may be able to automate some inbetweens, but I doubt complex movements could be accomplished without things looking strange.
Joseph Hughes
Let me guess, you're the Californian with a tech job that doesn't question the city being full of junkies in tents or the fact you're living paycheck to paycheck on $100k+ a year? But hey you got an iphone and netflix so it's all great, right?
Brandon Wilson
I would like to throw in that most of us are waiting for them to figure their own shit out, preferably before they kill themselves before they demand how we respond to them. Trannies are less than a rounding error of the human population so anyone's using of the standard pronouns is right almost all of the time and while they are going through some serious shit, getting pissed at people doing what works for basically everyone isn't a way to make friends
Dylan Perez
No, I'm the guy who works part time for minimum wage whose main expense is rent and new hard drives, and you're the guy who doesn't work because of his "disability" and "stress" and justifies it by saying 'society is just so cruel and impossible because those evil capitalists don't want to work to give me more free shit than I already get'. You doubt it because, again, you do not understand computers, programming, AI, neural networks, or human brains. Why do we not want them to die?
Julian Richardson
What killed video games is the same thing that is happening to anime, shit wages and complete creative control over projects from the board to sell to as many faggots as possible. The only reason anime isnt feeling the hit as much is because unlike video games, there is manga to adapt shit from
Aaron Nelson
Poverty doesn't create junkies, human stupidity does. Remember, day traders were the first heroin addicts, back when it was legal.
Nathaniel Williams
Okay, so why hasn't an AI created a compelling story if it's so easy? Why hasn't this game-changing technology been used in more applications? You've literally run out of arguments. Just face the fact that AI is years behind what you are ranting about. Even if it did manage to get as advanced as you claim, it still wouldn't beat the traditional method.
Nathaniel Hill
Lack of education correlates with poverty, back when it was legal people didn't question how bad things were, I mean Eurofags were using cocaine for medicine
Nathan Nguyen
It's not impossible for Chinese to sound okay and even nice at times. It all depends on the dialect.
Dylan Allen
Also depends on the voice acting. You can have C-Pop singers make Mandarin or Cantonese sound silky smooth just because it's a song.
Well, first of all, AI is actually incredibly new, and even newer is having the computing power easily available to allow it to learn in a timely fashion. Secondly, how do you know it hasn't? How do you know the early writer AIs aren't currently selling trashy romance novels under any of the normal book-a-week ghostwriter mills, training up to eventually put out the next Anna Karenina? >all out of arguments Right, yeah. Yeah, that's ME out of the two of us. >years behind what you are ranting about I'm not ranting, and this thread is about the future of the industry, not the now of the industry. Why are you so stupid? Cocaine is good in some medicinal ways, lots of drugs are, just with consequences. Morphine is some bad stuff, but they weren't wrong to use it given their options, even with the addiction after the fact. Ketamine is currently being introduced into more and more medical procedures, they even inject ketamine solutions into spinal cords to try and calm some nerves. There's really no hard and fast distinction between medical and recreational drugs other than the legal ones we create, and that's why prescription drug abuse is so huge. Level of education doesn't seem to correlate at all with intelligence, wisdom, or overall comprehension in my experience, at least not formal education. Understanding the world is something that only you can do for yourself, actively and on purpose, and a lot of people simply won't bother, thus failing the survival test regardless of what system of government, economics, or social program they're under. And I could analyze it in-depth against the Holy Bible and its prophecies about the end times, but it wouldn't make either of us not retarded zealot men-of-one-book. Fuck off, comrade, your "ideology" lost its novelty and mystique long before any of use were born, and it boils down to repeating powerwords and simple idioms to yourself and rationalizing everything you see through them.
Adrian White
So that "empathy" and "wealth" are what drive you to repeat media memes about muh economic destruction that get repeated every single decade since before the US existed, and then back them up by saying "m-muh druggies dying in commiefornia while techies still make money for doing something useful, oh the injustice!"? Take a bath you filthy larping NEET.
Leo Torres
how does that make his point about things being cheaper relative to mean wage untrue lmao what did you mean by this
David Jenkins
The fuck are you talking about?
Noah Nguyen
>you do not understand computers, programming, AI, neural networks, or human brains Neural networks literally work off the positive reinforcement principle. Various inputs are fed. These inputs are then each multiplied by their own individual weights. Once the values reach the artificial neuron, it sums them together, and if the activation value is higher than the threshold value, the neuron outputs a signal. This process is repeated, the results are recorded, and the weights are adjusted accordingly. I glossed over a few details, and overly simplified the whole process, but you get the point. Artificial neural networks have been around since 1943, and it doesn't take a genius to figure them out. No, they aren't you solve all solution to everything as you propose they are. No, they definitely WILL NOT be replacing creative roles in the entertainment industry.
Jordan Stewart
At least the girls looks cute unlike the fucking carls art and fucking sjwj west cartoons Chinks still learning . Just will take more time to suprass.
James Taylor
I'm not the one posturing himself as the holder of some deep and insightful analysis of the human condition. You sound like you're trying to impress, but we're all Anonymous here. It means nothing.
>AI is actually incredibly new No it isn't. >How do you know the early writer AIs aren't currently selling trashy romance novels I'm aware AI has been used to write trashy novels. Trashy being the key word here. I'm well aware of what I'm talking about. All you need to do is look up Botnik to see what an AI is capable of writing. It just solidifies my point that AI can't produce anything of any merit.
Angel Diaz
Ah you're a programmer, that explains your obnoxious arrogance. Just because you can replace jobs doesn't mean you should. If you're unironically telling people who spent the better part of their learning years in animation to "learn to code" then you are exactly the problem. You chase progress with no thought of the consequences, you have no limits and hold nothing sacred
Landon Perez
But user, think of the yakuza
Daniel Jones
Yeah, he's dumb as shit. Especially since a significant amount of bandori's seiyuu came from idolmaster anyway.
Ian Lewis
You call this shit ass language is nice?
Justin Hughes
What is this bootleg crap, Taimanin ripoff?
Henry Bailey
>Chinks on Yea Forums keep calling this hot turd is the AOTY, the story is amazing when it's just a below average generic shounen trash Also what kind of name is chufungbee some shit? Fucking disgusting languagr
Ryder Smith
He's pissed that no one gives a shit about his shitty boy band project.
Elijah King
>President Afrobama
James Perry
>“anime will definitely decrease” GOOD. Stop making so many shows at once. how this industry isn't dead yet is a miracle.
Ethan Walker
>The number is going back up though But is this good thing? Do we really need 50+ shows each season?
Eli Thompson
>Most people like him just wants to turn anime into a propaganda machine >implying it isn't already propaganda
What's a good language to learn? I don't even know where to start, to be honest.
Caleb Torres
What do you want to do? Different languages specialize in different things. Object-oriented languages are all pretty similar in logic so a lot is applicable between them. I'm biased as fuck towards C++ because Stoustrup was a proff at my university for a while so there was a heavy focus on C++. Python is the shit because of it's public libraries though. So I would probably recommend Python more for someone new to it.
Zachary Peterson
I think a genius is needed to find an easier way of making money with anime for everyone else to emulate
Kayden Barnes
Anyone who can use the internet well enough to post on Yea Forums is probably capable of adapting in that scenario of aggressive automation because that means they're likely average intelligence or more, but what about those who are around 90 iq or less who have trouble with even using the internet efficiently? That's still a good chunk of the population who may find nothing left for them
Bentley Green
>This fat fuck killed Milky Holmes
Leo Murphy
The only way to save anime is to give the remaining people more candy.
We're going to have to find a way to divorce things from money. People need to be free to make things without having to worry about budgets or profits.
Oliver Sanchez
When people doesn't need to pay for food, shelter, tax, health expenses, other living expenses, and their tools for making your free anime.
Hunter Hall
Its not. Not everything is a cis straight white man's propaganda, you know?
Jacob Fisher
>There is no doubt that anime will decrease Holy fucking based! Finally.
Are the chinese even going to bother trying to profit from animation in overseas markets? There's so many of them they dont seem to need external markets at all for a buttload of money, like how their shitty cpop will sell ridiculous numbers
Jayden Kelly
All anime is propaganda, the propaganda being "buy my shit and any future shit that I will make"
Brody Perry
You can't even divorce the planet's well being from money. Have you seen how fucking hot this year was? When was the last time Alaska still felt summer heat during August?
Chase Barnes
That's not propaganda, that's advertizing. Propaganda is when you want to, say, normalize transgenderism by making anime that puts them in a good light. Because transpeople are not normal and in fact harmful to society.
Angel Bell
Also Chinese government gives limited creative freedom so what ever they create, it will usually be shit.
I hope not, but if a lot of the seasonal garbage stops being produced and we end up with fewer shows but all of it with higher production values then it's a win win for everyone as presumably animators will be less over worked and fans get more higher quality shows and less crap.
Zachary Myers
Oh yeah, does Im@s have performances this wholesome?
>Yea Forums >average intelligence youre deluding yourself HARD if you think our average IQ exceeds 56% advertising and propaganda are the exact same thing (except that advertising is more effective)
Aiden Phillips
theres some good shit but it's an even worse ratio than anime
Asher Gonzalez
>star wars is just barely more profitable than fucking anpanman
Kevin Hughes
It's not Yea Forums specifically, the ability to navigate a forum or image board well enough to post easily enough to be worthwhile requires something like a 95 minimum. There are people (10 to 15% of population) who simply dont have any presence online at all because it's too difficult to navigate the internet easily, despite how simple it may be to everyone else
Gabriel Nelson
we should just enslave people and make them do loli anime for free
writing i can see needing a human for a while but animating is already at the point of little input, computer generated voice acting exists already in a rough state, and music generation can be fine tuned. This shit will be a reality within 10-15 years
Anthony Brooks
Why the fuck would anyone watch something entirely put together by machines? What kind of soulless shit is that? If that's the future, count me out.
Brandon Sanders
why do people watch schlock like isekai trash and shonenshit? people will gobble up almost anything
you're watching things put together by meatballs inside skeletons
Cameron King
You guys vastly overestimate the capabilities of artificial intelligence. There are far to many variables involved to create any decent content. It wouldn't be worth the effort. Ultimately, it would be much cheaper to just do it the traditional way. Plus, the final product would actually be somewhat decent, rather than some rehashed garbage put together by some algorithm.
Jacob Harris
Where is this translation from?
Carter Clark
Pretty much this. Everyone's talking out of their ass regarding this whole magical machine generated anime. It's a ridiculous pipe dream that would cause more harm than good if it ever managed to exist. As if anime wasn't soulless enough.
Oliver Thomas
I don't doubt that automation will be used for animation shortcuts but if anybody really thinks that entire anime series and films will be created through automation, they're nuts or just plain naive.
Hudson Johnson
I cringed
Liam Smith
>animating is already at the point of little input Source? Where can I find this magical program that can completely animate complex fight sequences, utilizing 2D characters, moving around and interacting in three dimensional space? Gee, I bet with that kind of software, anybody could type up what they wanted to see animated, press enter, and BANG. You'd have yourself a masterpiece that could rival even the best animators in the industry! It's almost too good to be true! Oh wait. You faggots actually believe this shit?
Jace King
I think the market is going stronger in the west, people like melonpan or kirinodere are always showing their animu collection.
>automation will be used for animation shortcuts It's already been used now for awhile. >anybody who thinks entire anime series and films will be created through automation are nuts or just plain naive Exactly what I've been calling these faggots out on for the past few hours. They're delusional if they think that shit can just be some automated process within the next decade. Even if it could be done, why the hell would anybody really want more uninspired, rehashed, garbage being produced from a fucking machine? By the time we get to that level of technological advancement, humanity's days will be numbered. I'll gladly accept extinction over a future that turns everything ranging from entertainment, to even the most mundane task into an automated process. There literally won't be any point in living at that point.
Oliver Morgan
I think things are already bad enough with KyoAni dead. Let's try not to jinx the people who are left into making things even worse.
Kayden Brown
>group of expats pushing societal changes Why couldn't that psycho have torched those fuckers instead, at least they deserve it.
Michael Perez
No, Hollywood movies are trending to becoming more and more computer generated just like anime. The quality drop is just as bad too but normalfags don't care so it's full steam ahead.
Carter Davis
but melonpan is a whale and they are rare then again, they keep gatcha games afloat on their own so maybe it's enough for anime
Kevin Gray
They'll just import more people.
Sebastian Howard
I'm sure these shows had 'extreme violence': >Sword Art Online II >Tokyo ESP >Strike the Blood >Samurai Bride >Girls Bravo
>Others got a bit luckier but still get seemingly random scenes deleted. For current season ones, Carole and Tuesday lost every single yuri and hugging scenes, Hitori Bocchi's ○○ Lifestyle lost a scene about pants in Episode 2 and a breast close-up shot in Episode 7, and Mix lost a scene about pants too. On the other side of the scale, YU-NO (which bilibili invested and is in the Anime Production Committee - I have no idea why) literally disappeared after airing for 2 episodes, following the footsteps of Island last summer and Conception last fall (don't ask me why they invest in such anime which are unlikely to survive anyway in PRC proper - some do get moved to their back-up Taiwan-Hong Kong-Macau site).
Isaac Powell
>cannibalism Which anime?
Lucas Adams
>Older anime aren't immune to this storm either - when Hyouka got re-licensed in China a few days ago, watchers discovered to their horror that quite a bit of Episode 5 - the very part that explains the anime's name origins (those who have watched Chitanda et al. will know which one I mean) - got chopped away. I can't explain it without spoiling though. Of course, that's nothing when compared with A Silent Voice lost 20 minutes worth of footage when going in cinemas in China back then, but that's another story for another day.....
Jaxon Martinez
This. british media constantly attacks Japan.
Cooper Cruz
Toukyou Ghoul, probably.
Dylan Smith
>So you may ask: "Why should we be aware of that?" The answer is that they have the largest export market of anime. One indication of that: You probably have never seen any major VA from Japan posting in English on social media anywhere (either by themselves or with the help of their staff). Well, quite a few do post in Chinese in their own social media (Kana Hanazawa being the latest one to join the group), with quite a few Chinese companies now investing in the production of anime in Japan (one even starting their own anime studio in Tokyo lately).
Gabriel Wilson
Hollywood panders to china too it's not just anime.
Christian Peterson
Japan's "low birth rate" is a (((western))) lie to try and make Japan (((multicultural))).
Leo Ward
>This was apparently reported by the anime producer in a recent meet-the fans stage event, in which it was reported that production of Dropkick On My Devil! Season 2 is going well, but the release date remains uncertain as they want to simulcast it in China, and an apparently new requirement - all imported TV shows, movies and anime etc. must be submitted in full for inspection and approval (i.e. the whole season must be completed before submission). Hence the release will have to wait for the whole thing to be completed and approved in China. (i.e. It could no longer be produced while earlier episodes are being broadcasted)
>Now, as someone who knew a little bit about entertainment there, I would say that this could take months to complete - if you are lucky. I saw a previous report that JC Staff's CEO said that this process may take 9 months or above (Newtype magazine, January 2019), and that's assuming it is approved at all (you might be amazed at how broad, deep, arbitary and constantly changing Chinese censorship are in anime et al. - more on that later when I have time)
Mad yet, Yea Forums?
Landon Rogers
First rule of capitalism, if there's a market for it they'll keep making it. So long as we do our part and keep buying products from the anime industry they'll keep making anime.
Jaxon Turner
Yeah their anime isn’t really well appreciate by western since people don’t understand what they are saying and the meaning behind what they say. The translation isn’t going to help either and will confuse most of the audience.
Parker Wright
>Chinese companies are no longer buying anime How is this a bad thing? I too would like the subhuman insects to not have any influence in my Japanese moving pictures of the drawn variety.
Jason Williams
FUCKING THIS.
Lincoln Lee
>any influence in my Japanese moving pictures of the drawn variety. Japa only guive a shit about Isekai crap. Nothing changes
Blake Bell
>anime is done just deal with it >t. zainichi
Lucas Diaz
Yeah but several of those movies have the budget to make versions for china specifically and release a regular ver everywhere else
No thanks to miyazaki and his approval of that school law that made japanese education so shit today.
Charles Robinson
I looked it up and it looks like a massive pile of shit trying it's best to be yugioh! with shameless ads. Who would think it is a good idea to make that shit for 7 years non stop? Anime is trully dying because of dumb decisions like that.
Grayson Allen
A massive fall in anime production would mean that only the best representatives of each genre besides shonen would survive. Which ones are those, Yea Forums?
>Chink gay shit >Mentally deranged faggot >People >MAL >A shitty site full of bots What are you trying to say?
Ethan Scott
They are the fucking same, take your garbage , fucking disgusting
Lucas Gomez
It's Kadokawa who are funding those, not the Chinese.
Easton Reyes
Chinks hates gays bullshit, faggot
Asher Baker
>All this denial ITT fascinating >but anime is too deeply ingrained in modern japanese culture Maybe, but it won't last long if the industry shrinks >and too widespread and popular on the global stage You can't be serious user. First of all it's false. Second, modern consumer has an attention span of a goldfish. If the industry keeps being this shitty it will be forgotten by the general public fast. Meaning there will be less money. Chinks are improving at an insanely rapid speed. in 5 years they will surpass nips in animation quality, no doubt. This is unsustainable. The industry will eventually shrink >The only reason anime is dying is because they're so focused on selling only to the hardcore otaku niche they're not bothering to consider the rest of the world. I know this is bat but this part is actually true. Anime has only two options: consolidate and open itself for the whole world. HOWEVER that doesn't mean it has to change the content. Just ramp up the production quality and keep doing what they do best. And they need to consolidate because theres shit ton of anime NO ONE fucking watches. The guy doesn't understand the reason millenials are like this though. Young nips want wholesome romantic stuff now. They are not more asexual or SJW compare to previous generation or anything, but they despise the culture built around sex.
Carter Fisher
>Chinks hates gays bullshit, faggot
When did the gays touch you?
Chase Thomas
There actually is an ongoing spongebob comic, pretty good stuff, the stories definitely feel like a natural continuation of pre-movie style
Isaiah Thomas
They'll just change to CGI, companies would rather die than pay cheap labor above minimum wage
>Chinese companies are no longer buying anime >Azur Lane anime in like 3 months
Seems like some bullshit, one of the biggest Chinese games going to Japan for their franchise-expanding show instead of a domestic company.
Hunter Bell
>Dropkick 2 is going to be neutered to appeal to chinks Fuck me, and even slice of life shows could get affected by this shit. What the fuck is going to be left?
Lincoln Bennett
seiyuus, marketing to make people actually watch seasonal trash, and execs
Oliver Cook
The Anime industry ALWAYS had a horribly inefficent business model. They are literally still stuck with TV instead of moving to an online enviroment to sell their shit. They are still primarily selling BD/DVDs to earn a proft, that's like being stuck in the fucking stoneage compared to what they could be doing today. Even the manga and LN industry are more progressive then all these fucktards in the anime one. Let's hope it all collapses so it can rise from the ashes in a better form.
Also, what do they mean by that Chinese companies are no longer buying anime and why don't they anymore?
Ryan Hill
>This contradicts with the influx of western normalfags. normalfags don't buy merch. they watch anime in streaming sites that generates ad revenue to the streaming company >And yet shitty cheap CGI is everywhere. production costs aren't geared only towards animation, there is marketing, there's the physical products like the BDs, figures, outdoor promotion on the street/train staions/bus stop, commercial on tv, expensive as fuck voice actors. and the cut of the executives
Connor Anderson
Yea Forums really does make Yea Forums seem like one big happy family in comparison.
>Also, what do they mean by that Chinese companies are no longer buying anime and why don't they anymore? Read the thread.
Eli Lee
disney ran he franchise into the ground ygo vrains got cancelled and pkm anime got less than 1% of tv ratings. anime doesn't make money anymore. Duel Links and Pokemon GO make a lot of money. in fact pokemon makes more money in merchandise than the fucking anime you doofus. it is easier to find people who played all the games but doesn't watch the anime in over a decade
Kayden Clark
>can only mimic catchy rhythms based off a data set >can't create it's own lyrics >lacks creative direction I can teach a monkey to play an instrument. But that doesn't mean it'll become the next Mozart. You guys have a pretty shallow interpretation of what it means to create art. No doubt due to growing up in an era where we as consumers have trash shoved down our throats on a daily basis.
Jayden King
the main issue is the cost of living being insanely high. look at the spikes of cost of living across the planet. this current shitshowof an era where governments never let companies go bankrupt makes things worse. people are working more while getting paid less. companies and rich people pay less than 10% of the taxes (not including the tax evasion schemes) while common people are getting their asses filled with more and more taxes
Tyler Turner
and yet every fucking modern mainstream song mimics catchy rhytms and has the complex composition of a toddler hitting the rubber duck in the bath. even idol shit abuses this system. there is already cientific proven melodies that makes people to like them. put those melodies in repetition and you have a guaranteed hit song
Oliver Rivera
I'd say I would even be fine with. Most what is airing nowadays is some isekai garbage of the season.
Wyatt Moore
>wanting even more garbage churned out by fucking machines I'm aware music has been getting progressively worse. But things like this evolve over time. Before forsaking your humanity over to the machines for cheap entertainment. Give people a chance to rekindle the passion that made the classics so good. Anything they could produce, would have far more soul put into it than a literal machine.
Carson Ortiz
early rumors indicated that the murderer had to have his hands and legs amputated from burns. how true is that?
Juan Lewis
Chinese are making their own now. They're pretty awful.
Christopher Thompson
Problem with Yea Forums is that most anons have no industry insight at all, just assumptions and prejudices. Mostly because they don't know Japanese
Benjamin Bailey
You ever wonder why there is so much backlash against modern music? Same goes for modern art, modern movies, modern games. It's blatantly obvious no effort went into creating them.
Luis Bennett
It doesn't take much effort to make a catchy song. But it takes true passion to make a timeless classic.
Gavin Garcia
They are shit, indeed.
Matthew Ortiz
Fuck off, it's great and many times exceeded Yu-gi-oh already.
Benjamin Gomez
>I didn't watch anime but I'll criticize it because of 3 google images I've seen
absolute state of neo nu Yea Forums
Nolan Roberts
Are you only referring to just special effects, or something else? The only thing that I could think of is the proliferation of CGI, and that is just common sense nowadays to use it.
Carter Reed
More likely to be luck - luck that you lands on a good day, luck that you don't have to worry about putting food on your table, etc.
Alexander James
First of all, good for you. You have a carved yourself a good life while the world is tethering on collapse - like it always has been.
Second of all, I could not help but to see that you're implying everyone who fail are because of their personal failings. Class, gender and race-based discrimination always exist all over the world, you know?
"Hands out"? You make it sounds like people are not willing to work to better their life. I will argue for the opposite that people want to work.
Gavin Moore
>approval of that school law that made japanese education so shit today. ?
Ethan Flores
kek. Someone got triggered their shitty cheap clone got exposed.
Luis Richardson
>exposed It's been 7 years user and it's nothing like ygo outside of having cards
Cooper Murphy
Partially luck perhaps. But the real thing that sets a timeless classic apart from your run of the mill trendy tune, is it's ability to carry a timeless truth. Something that can be felt through the test of time. Something uniquely human, that connects us all despite our upbringing, culture, and time period. That is what it means to create true art.
Ryder Thomas
If this means more quality over quantity thats a good thing too
No Chinese influence due to them buying anime or contributing to production costs is also a good thing desu
Samuel Rivera
>Chink hates gay Its their government hate gay not those cockroaches, fucking disgusting chink has plenty of gay wuxia kungfu shit

The guy is right, though. Even the characters look like soulless rejected ygo designs.
Jaxson Rivera
You mind explaining the similarities without buzzwords?
Anthony Russell
>Damage He was a blessing to the industry. Though it might have been a little too late. Had he burned kyoani before K-on and "cute girls doing cute things" the anime industry wouldn't be on crisis right now.
Aiden Phillips
One would think animators should be the ones the most tired of all this moe crap.
Daniel Thompson
After Zexal, the anime's been carried by inertia, not quality
Henry Butler
Inb4, the "quality" goes to the few fanservice anime remaining after the bubble bursts.
Owen Scott
Read the fucking thread.
Aaron Hernandez
Can provide any links? All I find is an anime about Marx.
Jeremiah Allen
Machines are good at edge and psychological drama. It would adapt novels like Overlord really good, especially the inhuman designs.
Logan Turner
>2 thirds of animne are literally gay or lesbian interactions >Anise encourages youngsters to live in world's of fantasy self-inserting as cringe shy autistic heroes with impossible harems >Buy our merchandise, goy Otaku pandering anime is slowly going peak degeneracy and you know it.

>You want the truth Era? >Goes on long ass rant about the same things they talk about everyday
>Machines are good at edge and psychological drama Source? You guys keep on coming up with new bold claims without any evidence to back them up.

Not currently following the anime but arcV and Vrains seem to be pretty great on Yea Forums. On the other hand, I have never ever seen a thread about that vanguar thing.
Jaxon Brooks
>Chinese companies are no longer buying anime When did they start buying anime on the first place? It's FUCKING CHINA. Who is that retard and why sould we care? >Bang dream It all ads up now.
Zachary Campbell
There's been weekly threads since last year, lurk more
Liam Perez
They need to stop sexualizing little girls. It's too embarrassing to admit you like anime for it to become truly big and acceptable in the west.
The VAs are becoming more and more vain and asking for higher and higher wages.
Justin Martinez
Based and an underrated post. There was a European studio working on something similar to this for a full length animated movie a few years back
Isaiah Jones
Europe will overtake the anime industry. For once we will have truly aryan and green/blue eyed voice actors instead of what we have now. The future is bright.
James Wilson
He was the hero we needed but didn't deserve.
Jose Williams
>Production costs are rising Funny coming from the guy behind an ugly CGI anime.
Camden Gomez
He looks like some sort of communist leader.

They are just tie to tie with modern anime.

How do you even say animation in Chinese?
Angel Fisher
>MANY times before Piracy and overproduction was never this big. On top of that otaku culture is shinking and aging fast. The end is near.
Christopher Anderson
Population crisis is a spook idiot, taste just change like the scifi era from the 80's and 90's changing to fantasy and now isekai.
Daniel Moore
This As far as I remember there have been 2 anime crashes before. The third will end it all.
John Harris
Scifi>Fantasy>Isekai The quality is reducing at giant steps and isekai is the popular genre with the less creativity poured into it ever. have you not seen the isekai world map threads?
Connor Roberts
Scifi experimented a lot compared to isekai.
Jackson Ross
Have you never seen the same outer space and random planet setting of sci-fi? same shit.
Dylan Garcia
>comparing a fucking city to the fucking outer space Isekaifags seething.
