The recap doesn't exist because they think the audience needs it.
It exists because they have to deliver something to the TV channels and streaming sites and the actual episode ain't done in time
So a recap is ideal because they only need to put together footage they already have and add some narration, which isn't that much work

I think black clover had one after 4 episodes, though as part of the intro of every ep they do the recap of the ancient history so they've been getting away with it pretty much nonstop.
