I just finished binging all of dbz kai, and even in kai I felt the entirety of the freiza fight was dragged out way too long. Sure, the actual transformation was alright, but everything else made it so that goku-frieza fight was my least favorite part of the series. I legitimately liked the raditz fight more because it took planning and they actually fought to defeat the opponent rather than "lol hang back guys, imma 1v1 him".

i disagree. keeping everyone else around would have just been pointless at that time since everyone was clearly outclassed. and goku let freiza power up because he started to tap into his saiyan heritage and fought not just to beat the enemy, but to completely crush him when he was at his best. it was a welcoming change of pace to see goku like that. and most of the fighting itself was cool as well, since after goku went SS frieza had to power up to level the playing fields, but frieza was still to egotistical to try and plan things out so he got fucked.
although if the fighting itself and the saiyan plotline wasnt your thing, i can see why you wouldnt like it.

the entire saga from the moment they first arrive on namek to when goku beats frieza (which is almost 70 god damn episodes by the way) is almost entirely trash with a few decent moments inbetween
I don't know who the fuck thought it was a good idea to focus that much of the show on a bunch of total faggot weakling characters, but literally none of them are endearing and when Bulma almost lost the dragon ball in the ocean because she didn't want to get her feet a little wet i almost stopped watching the show entirely

That had to be passed to the younger fighter (in that case, Goten and Trunks, but same can be applied to Gohan when Goku forfeited at the Cell Games). I liked because he showed Goku wasnt a complete bidimensional, retard character "getting hyped over fighting strong guys" such in Super and it leads to a coherent conclusion in him deciding to train Uub (of course, that happened for selfish reasons as well)

Fusion time shorts to 5 minutes when the fusion goes beyond SS, Goku and Vegeta learned this when they went SSB instantly as Vegetto, so when they fused into Gogeta they tried to stall with base and SS, as soon they needed something stronger than SS they went all out (SSB).
