She fed one deer, and then another one came, and another and another, and then she was all out of food for the deer, but the deer were hungry, and toppled over her licking her because they felt she had more food.
In the next scene, she claimed she was all wet stinky and sticky, because she was covered in deer saliva. Not semen, saliva.
The scene was (I felt) funny and adorable. It's not even the raunchiest joke in the show like you'd see with Konata's scenes, and even those are tame despite the nature of her and her sad sad man of a father(whom I'm surprised managed to find a woman and a beautiful smart woman and raise such a magnificent daughter without anything, you know, bad happening like people would expect given his nature).
But anyway, Tl;dr
Don't imprint things onto shows that aren't even there. This is straight foward and not even post modern, which is why it is one of the only 2 animes Confused Matthew ever liked.

Regardless of how naughty or tomboyish she might look, Misao is actually the most innocent, open, well-meaning, radiant and positive character in the series.
Unlike all the other characters, she never even once hides anything or pretends to be something she's not, not even as a joke. She does not know how to bear grudges or to be truly upset or angry at somebody. More importantly, she does not have the capability to be anything other than herself.
All of which makes her absolutely awesome.

This show was deceptive and is endearing. I first watched this show after having watched Excel Saga, expecting the same vein of humor. I really liked the opening theme song. While there was some good jokes like Konata spin kicking a foreigner that looks like Street Fighters Guile. The first episode was mostly the characters talking about lunch and food. It was no Excel Saga.
Then as I grew older and life hit me harder, I appreciated it more. Maybe it might of been because it reminded me of high school, and the crushes I used to have. Konata and Miyuki are especially lovely personalities. It made me think of lost opportunities, like if only I was handsome and independent when I was young I could have asked a girl out. Maybe there might have been a knowlegable sweet heart like Miyuki or a fun loving trolly naughty girl like Konata.
However, there other aspects of this show that I consider universally good. I'll list them
+Good reference gags like the Street Fighter one, also the Initial D one
+Luck Channel, hosted by the disgruntled Akira and her hapless co host Minoru. It's kind of like Krusty the Clown meets On Cinema.
+Some enlightening meta commentary on anime and otaku-isms
+Any scene with this guy is always a plus youtube.com
+Oddly positive message, maybe(hopefully not unrealistic). Konata's father is otherwise a lonely guy who plays hentai games. Someone kind of like me. He also has a fetish for sailor suited High School girls it seems. Creepy, but he is not a molester. He married a very beautiful woman, and proceeded to sort of properly raise Konata. There was sentimental moment in episode 22 where the ghost of Konata's mom checks up on her husband:
